Feel free to PP them moving along again or sharing food/water!

The mottled girl seemed friendly and kind enough, willing to listen to advice and suggestions of a stranger, and even apologized to Kamari’s apology.

It made Kamari all the more curious of where she might have been from. She didn’t hold the scent of Krokar or Cour des Miracles, didn’t look sophisticated enough to run with the bunch that called themselves Sapient. She was definitely not a coyote, so that ruled out Inferni. And, from their time together and with how she spoke of the knightly pack, it ruled out Casa di Cavalieri. And with all other known sources crossed off, it opened up an even more interesting idea; a new pack, one that Kamari had not met before or learned of in her studies with Lokr.

While she was eager to know, the jackal hybrid was a patient soul, and knew better than to rush things. If it came into conversation, it would do so naturally. If it did not, well…at the very least, Kamari had a rough idea where this unknown pack might be located. Somewhere on the mainland side, and likely further south of Salsola if the land bridge was to be a quicker route to these friends of hers—her pack’s—in Casa di Cavalieri.

She put the thought to the back of her mind, focusing instead on merely traversing the rough terrain and paying attention to whatever small talk they might have.

Kamari looked contemplative at Saga’s description of Casa di Cavalieri, trying to consider if, truly, Kamil might have sought out such a place of refuge. While he may have been raised in Salsola and was present for the same cultural lessons as she, her twin had never been one to conform to their ways or try to even understand their way of life. He hated them, the highborns, even more than she had, if the siblings’ secret night talks were anything to judge by. And while only a few had actually partaken in the act of owning another Luperci, and he had never been able to see beyond that.

Casa di Cavalieri, from what she could recall of her lessons with the Pentiti, was strongly against slavery, having even come to the Kingdom to liberate some at one point in their history. So, even if Kamil wasn’t exactly chivalrous, he might be drawn to their shared stance on slavery.

At the mention of other packs, Kamari seemed to be brought out of her thoughts. Her ears flickered attentively and her posture straightened a bit, giving off the appearance of someone that was both hopeful and eager to hear more. “Really? Are there any that are close that you think I should check out if he’s not with these Cavaliers?”

Word Count → 2+ :: ooc

She considered the question for a moment. To the south of the former peninsula, she could only recall one other pack aside from the Cavaliers. The realisation came to her instantly, but she mulled over her answer internally for a little longer, not wanting to seem like she hadn't given it much thought. 'No. Just the Court and Casa in that area.' The only other suggestion she could make, if Birch was sure her brother was likely to still be in the area, was that perhaps he'd taken up with a band of loners? 'There are a few groups of loners around apparently, maybe he's with one of them?' The suggestions were the least she could do since the other woman had been so kind as to share her rations.

They wandered on further still, taking brief sips of water in turn as the crossed the isthmus that separated bay and loch. If Saga knew the truth about where "Birch" came from, and the situation in which her brother had found himself, she would have felt a strong sense of kinship, for the reasons she had left were largely the same. Saga wouldn't have been in the least bit surprised if he'd left, considering her own feelings on the matter.

Figured we could start wrapping this up in the next round or so? :O

Kamari hummed as if she were making mental note of the information Saga had given her. “So the Court, Casa, and the Cavaliers for packs.” She had counted three despite knowing better. Birch wouldn’t have known the difference, and the shorted name of the knightly pack would have been missed on the supposedly Loner. Kamari was slightly disappointed that Saga had not named her own pack, however, it just meant that it probably wasn’t “close.” It was no matter. At this point, the Kaiser would not force it if the girl would not speak of where she was from.

She put on a thoughtful expression when considering the idea of Kamil joining a group of Loners. “If they were nice to him, possibly.” With obvious reason. Not all Loners were friendly, and not all were good. In all honesty, if they were together, they’d probably have to approach him rather than the other way around. Kamil wouldn’t have tried to interact with a group of unknown Luperci. One, sure, particularly if he thought they needed help. “Do you know any in particular that I should be on the lookout for?” She asked curiously.

Circle of Ravenshadow had been the only one she had known of that had a name, but, even from them, she hadn’t heard of in a little while. Not to mention, the last time she had run into one of their members, they had been much further north and closer to the mainland than down in the peninsula.

They continued on their journey once the tides had gone down enough that they could make decent headway without having to swim. The sun continued its gradual race across the sky, its heat becoming stronger as it wore into the afternoon hour before fading as it began its slow descent on the western horizon.

Kamari was surprised at how long it had taken to make the trek across the Bay. Though, she supposed, if she had gone the long way around, it would have taken likely upwards to a day and a half or so by foot. By the landbridge crossing, any movement across it would have had to have been made by a light unit with little to no extra supplies because of the distance and the change in water height. It was something she would be sure to include in her report back to O’Riley.

As she climbed atop a large rock so she could see the progress they had made, she was surprised to see how close they were to the once-far off shoreline. “It looks like we’re almost there,” she called down to her temporary companion. “Probably an hour or two at most if we keep our current course.”

She made her way back down to where Saga was, a smirk of comradery on her lips as they continued on. “What do you plan to do when we reach the other side?” With all of her talk up until that point, Kamari hoped Birch’s intentions once they reached the peninsula would have been obvious enough that Saga would not find her question odd or nosy.
