The moon hung low in the night sky casting an eerie light down upon the pools of calm water scattered about the Moonstone Lakes territory. Birds rested quietly, or in fear, and the only thing that could be heard was the loud cackling of a corrupted youth. River flailed herself about, dancing wildly in the darkness. The moonlight made her pelt shimmer and she moved as fluid as mercury. Wild wavy locks covered and then revealed dazzling mismatched hues as the Grim girl spun and leaped in pure ecstasy. It'd been far too long since she felt truly happy. Even with the lingering anger of Maelyx's leaving, she felt at peace.

The mumbles of a gagged canine mixed in with her feminine laughter with accents of dragging, clothes rustling, and heavy, powerful footsteps on the damp earth. The excited girl bounced back to the midnight behemoth and reached a hand out to his face to grace it briefly before spinning and gracing the face of their captive. Don't struggle. The only thing that awaits you is enlightenment, power, and freedom. River paused and cupped the creamy female's face. Trust me. Greed and blue gems shot up at Lux and a wicked grin flashed across her features. We're almost there.

River knew of one of Greed's safe houses which was close by. She found his map. What was supposed to be a safe house, would now be turned into a place of ritual and sacrifice. River had a freshly slain snake dangling from her belt and she and Lux hunted down a doe earlier which would also serve as a sacrifice. On her back was a bag, expanded to a rectangle shape by the book of demons that rested inside. Other items jangled about loosely as she turned and bound away again, humming a random tune she concocted on her own. As her voice rose this time, Kalfou's malicious laughter chimed in and the spirit wisped about most likely unseen by the captive but quite possibly detected by Lux.

Soon, the safe house was in sight and River was already ahead to open to door so the midnight giant could safely stow tonight's fun for later. First, she wanted to partake in the Devil's beverage with her newly found love interest.

The dark monster in the shadows trudged along behind the moonlit female as she danced and laughed in the night. Her fur was illuminated by the moon and stars, yet to the males one good eye, she seemed to be enveloped in an aura of darkness. She was beautiful, he would think idly as the beast simply continued existing. How many times would Lux's reason for living be taken from him before he would cease to do so? And yet he was alive. This girl dancing before him crackled with an exciting energy, and it wasn't love, and it wasn't lust, but still he desired that energy that she emitted.

The weight of the pale woman hanging from his one hand was nearly forgotten, as River spun around to meet him, the giant stooping slightly as a hand reached up to touch the marred side of his face, one eye shining like the sun as it gazed unblinking down upon her, the other clouded and silver like the moon. He smiled at her excitement and passion, pausing to let her speak to the bound, gagged, and thrashing woman whom he held by the scruff and dragged along the ground to their destination.

Greed had been a dear friend to the black furred demon, yet Lux had drifted away from good things, letting himself become fully consumed by the cloud of evil that hung over him, no longer holding any regard for the well being or approval of those he had called friend in life. River, however, was one of the few people who still spoke to him, she fed into his vile thoughts and monstrous nature and saw him for what he was and she did not cower in fear, no, she was happy, and Lux was happy to no longer feel the need to hold back.

They arrived at the house and Lux tossed the woman inside as River held the door open for him, hearing the bound girl land with a heavy thud and a muffled growl. Turning away, the obsidian giant looked down on the demonically possessed girl, his expression largely blank as he loomed, though a marred and rough hand would raise in turn to touch her cheek, claws brushing lightly through her fur as a corner of his mouth would turn up in a smile of anticipation for the nights events.

Their prize was tossed into the small house with a loud thud. River stepped inside and waved lightly at the gagged, bound, girl before closing the door behind her. She could hear the woman thrashing desperately to escape, but it was useless. River laughed lightly and then turned to Lux. His hand raised and deadly claws ran tenderly through the fur on her cheeks. She lifted her head up, like a cat might do upon being scratched just the right way. Her own hand lifted to cup Lux's as she shined mismatched up at the midnight demon. He smile, however small, and she smiled back.

After that, she jumped and threw her arms around his neck in a burst of momentary excitement. This is gonna be so fun!! Her embrace came to an end and she let herself fall back down to the earth on light feet. After that, she removed the bag that rested on her shoulders and brought out a flask. She spun and popped the metal cap off and took a drink. Her nose wrinkled as the beverage hit her tongue. She hadn't known what was splashing around in the flask. She simply took whatever she could get from her step father. She was never picky, because she took it without his knowledge.

After she swallowed, River held the flask up for Lux to take. To a night full of fun. May the Abyss open it's gates and allow the demons to join us in our ritual. After Lux took the flask, or didn't, River leaned against him and gazed up at him with wondrous orbs. Never had she felt more in touch with her practice, or with herself. For once, she felt like she may have found her calling. May the demons welcome us to their world as well, and allow us to walk with them as one of their own. River turned away as Kalfou's hand grazed her face, cooling it instantly. Do peasants ever dare not bow to their Queen? The stormy girl couldn't help but laugh. They are beings of knowledge and power, not peasants. Please Kalfou, do not upset them.

Of course. The entity said with a clearly sarcastic smile about his lips. Why he respected her so, she still couldn't understand.
