Drink! To the promise of fun

Defeat loomed over the earthen canine like a category hurricane waiting to strike and destroy him once again. They couldn't catch a break, could they? Just when things seemed to be settling, another storm brewed just beneath the surface. This time, he was faced with a major conflict. The war was well in the past, but still he found himself fighting family. He wondered why he didn't see this coming. The midnight behemoth was a red hot kettle, on the verge of boiling over. He was impossible to get close to, impossible to reason with, and had a temper hotter than the mid day sun. Greed felt guilty for not recognizing his pain and helping him before things got to this point.

A heavy sigh spilled from between previously clenched jaws. A limber arm lifted to push open the heavy door that lead into Biff's Bar. Once inside he sighed again and inhaled the sweet aroma of mead and wine, as well as the mixture of the bar's customers. He walked up to the bar and received his first drink from Spud without having to ask. Greed was slowly becoming a regular here. Maybe that's why he felt comfortable enough to let his ears droop and his smile relax around the bar's patrons. Everyone else seemed to be on a similar page. The bar was a safe house to passing canines or regulars alike, at least in his mind.

Thanks Spud. Greed spoke before pushing off the bar towards an empty seat. He eyed the bar's visitors as he passed, putting on his handsome smile just for a bit. He didn't need to, but he did, just for them. Greed then settled down in his seat and reclined, taking the first crisp drink from his mug full of frothy mead. His body tingled as it hit his gut, refreshing him immediately. The earthen canine let his eyes wander around the bar, hoping to catch an eye just as interested in him as he was of them. He could always count on the bar for a good time.

Ever since the strange family reunion Baelish had experienced at Biff’s Bar, he found himself venturing here at least once a week. At first, it was to perhaps glance his new found family again, but after a while, it became for reverie and better yet, networking.

As the silver D’Angelo male aged, he found himself becoming shrewder and shrewder and he reveled in it. He was still so young, many looked at him and saw a wet behind the ears pup, but he was smart and he had the gift of gab. It did not take much to insert himself into any conversation, whether it be with a grizzled old dog or a middle-aged wolfess looking for a fling. He was getting very good at reading others, understanding what they were feeling, what they wanted, and most importantly, what they were willing to do to get it.

After just a few short weeks, Baelish was now doing very well for himself. He was always wearing the best clothes, smelling like a rose, and his horse was always well groomed; he had even gotten a saddle for it. Today, he cantered up to the bar like a prince, wearing a dark blue tunic of sorts, his feet wrapped elegantly in white muslin. He dismounted his glowing white stallion and tied him off, before heading into the establishment, giving a few ladies a wink on the way in. They giggled. It seemed his reputation preceded him.

Inside the atmosphere was relaxed and content; perfect. Baelish took several long strides up to the bar and Spud was quick to get him a drink, How’s it going today? Anything interesting? He asked, and the bar-tender just shrugged. Baelish grinned and shrugged back, before picking up his cup and taking a swig, while he turned around and leaned against the bar, the very visage of nonchalance. There were some familiar faces here, and some new ones; one of which belonged to a dark coyote fellow with a blood red patch on his snout. Baelish immediately recognized him as a Lykoi; the majority of that family all had certain features that made them stand apart, however this one seemed to be lacking their trade mark star brand. Still, he hadn’t really interacted with many of them, and knew that their lineage was spread far and wide like a spider-web through these lands. He grinned at him and raised his cup in a salute.

Sorry about the wait![+4]

Greed had settled quickly, taking several sips from his mug full of mead already. His throat burned slightly and tongue tingled from the beverage in the most refreshing way. Just as Greed sat back, reclining in the wooden seat, someone entered and drew his attention to them immediately. He dressed exquisitely, catching several of the less fabulously dressed canines' eyes as he strode to the bar. Greed's brow rose in sudden curiosity. Part of that curiosity was for where he got such fine garbs. Greed lost every piece of clothing he had in Anathema's fires and was slowly building his collection of self spoken garments.

Amber orbs remained fixed on the stranger, watching as he spoke to Spud who did nothing more than shrug him off. The Lykoi's grin widened as he watched the other. He was stunning in a way that not many males were, as not many males payed attention to the garments they wore or their outward appearance. Even his brother was a struggle to dress appropriately. He always complained that the clothes Greed chose for him were too flashy or restraining for a man of war. The though made the umber Lykoi chuckle fondly.

A break was taken from observing to glance down and see how much of his free drink he had left. About half. He'd have to fix that real quick if it meant having an excuse to approach the fire eyed male. The mug was lifted to relieve it of it's contents. When he looked back up, he realized he'd been spotted. A wide grin spread across his face, returning the one the stranger was flashing in his direction. Greed raised his cup in a returned salute and then downed the last of it before walking up to the bar. He set the empty mug down and removed some dried meat wrapped in leather hide which he pushed towards spud. Nothing but muscle. The charmer ensured before he was given approval and his cup was taken away to be filled.

Greed flashed a cocky glance over his shoulder at the stranger standing next to him. Can I just say, that you have excellent taste? It was a suggestive comment, one that was paired with the raise of his brow and the wandering of eyes upon the male.

The coyote male caught his gaze and saluted back, before downing the remainder of his drink and sauntering over to stand beside Baelish, trading some jerky for his second cup. Baelish turned towards him and rested an elbow on the bar, and his jaw against his fist. He smiled coyly up at the larger male as he paid him a compliment, Oh? I must for you to come over to me so easily. He teased, knowing that the male meant is clothing, not his taste in men. It had been some time since Baelish had interacted this way with the same sex; it was such a more interesting game than that with women; in some ways easier, and others, not so much.

Baelish took another sip of his drink, babying it for now, before offering a paw to the male, Baelish D’Angelo. What brings your handsome face to Biff’s Bar this evening? He asked with a grin. Hopefully he hadn’t read the coyote wrong that it was alright for him to come onto him so openly. But Baelish had always had a way of reading others right upon meeting them, so he did not have too much worry. Now that he was closer, he smelled that this male was a wild one, not much of a hint of pack scent. Not unusual; it seemed most of Biff’s patrons chose to be loners, another reason why it was so easy to make new connections here; no pack loyalties holding one back.

He hadn't been here for more than a few minutes, but as always, Biff's Bar delivered to the promise of fun. Greed could already tell which direction this night was going and he wasn't opposed. The umber Quill huffed with airy laughter as the opposing male responded with refreshing wit. Greed meant many things but his comment, one being a compliment paid to no one but himself, but luckily the other had not picked up that subtle detail.

So the challenge began, of courting another male. It was always fun and different. It served as a refresher so that his mated life was not left without excitement. There was a twinge of guilt each time, knowing full well that Lust had wanted him to commit himself to her and only her, but once Anathema was destroyed he found himself seeing everything in a new light. Greed was not done pursuing what made him happy. Greed was just what his name told others he was, greedy. He may have given up a lot of who he was before, but the umber sin would never fully surrender his true self. So, he stood here at the bar smiling charmingly at his next challenge.

Greed took a sip just as the other did and reached out to grasp Baelish's hand firmly. Well that's attractive. He found he was always the one greeting others in that very much human manner. Greed Lykoi. He said with a continuing grin, taking another drink from his wooden mug before turning to answer the fire eyed male's question. The same thing that always brings me here. The promise of fun. His brow rose in a suggestive manner and he shifted his body fully towards Baelish showing off his battle scars and well defined muscle. ...and you? I've been told by one of the bar's patrons, that us fancy types don't come around her often. Greed looked over his shoulder, assuring that Vinny was nowhere to be seen. He could only smile fondly remembering the dog mix's bold humor. It must be my lucky day. Greed said in a low tone, before lowering his muzzle to his mug, taking a sip without removing his eyes from Baelish.

The well built coyote seemed extremely amused to have Baelish pay him attention, and readily took his hand in greeting. His grip was firm and warm, and his eyes bright if not swimming a bit from the drink. He, of course, introduced himself as Lykoi; Greed Lykoi. What an unfortunate first name, some parents were just so cruel. But greedy as he may be, so far, Baelish was enjoying him.

The Lykoi responded that he was at the bar for fun; weren’t they all? But fun meant different things to different Luperci; Baelish wondered what Greed’s idea of “fun” was. The ‘yote then mentioned that “fancy types” such as they did not frequent here often. Baelish's smirk was renewed, and he turned to lean back against the bar, surveying the other patrons boldly. There was several of them who were glancing at the pair, but most seemed oblivious. But Greed was right, they were the best looking male’s in here by a long shot; he laughed and took a drink as his companion exclaimed that it was his lucky day.

Baelish spun around and slammed his cup down on the bar-top, Yes it is! Mine too! he said, his smile wide and his eyes wider as he tossed a small bag towards Spud; the sound of the contents tinkled as they hit the wood, and the bar-keep looked up curiously, but was quick to pour Baelish his second drink. The dog then inspected the bag, smiled, and nodded at Baelish before turning to get back to helping other customers.

A new drink in his hand, Baelish finally relaxed a bit and pulled up a nearby empty stool to sit on, then looked at Greed with nothing less than bedroom eyes, So, a Lykoi huh? He said through grinning teeth, Where’s your Chaos Star, Greed? Have it hidden somewhere… naughty?

Greed turned and looked around the bar just as Baelish did, seemingly proving his point. Most dressed rather plainly, or not at all. Might it be that most of the bar's guests would rather drink than trade for something of real value? It could also be that most came to drink hoping to fill a void, because they had nothing. The umber Lykoi pondered shortly before turning back to his new acquaintance.

He couldn't help a hearty chuckle as the other span excitedly and slammed an empty mug down onto the bar's counter top before exchanging for more drink. He never let his smolder falter as he eyed Baelish hungrily. It was a rare occasion that Greed play these games with a male. He savored them.

Greed sighed a relaxed sigh before sipping his drink yet again. Baelish pulled up a stool, close to Greed, gazing at him in a matching demeanor. His own eyes narrowed further and his smile softened. His lips pulled back to reveal glossy daggers as the other questioned him. His red blazed muzzle tipped up and down in a slow nod. Mhmm. Intense red-orange eyes blazed back at him and he shrugged. This could go one of two ways, Baelish. He began, leaning closer towards the grey mottled stunner. I could show you where it is and we can be done with it...or... Greed's eyes flashed over towards the rest of the bar before returning to Baelish. we could find someplace to be alone and you can find it yourself.

A deep, short, growl rumbled from between Greed's jaws. He lingered, awaiting the mix's answer. Either way, this night would be fun, whether or not Baelish decided to play into Greed's sensual games.
