Which is heavier, a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers?

Ovidiu

OOC || +4

The day had come, the armor was complete; not only for her, but for her feline friend. Beautiful leather armor, polished and perfect; of course that would not last long, that was the nature of armor. She had been waiting months, and the armor for the tiger had taken the most time, because it was for a body Leoris was not used to making things for; it took finesse and a large amount of creativity, but he had pulled it off, a testament to his skill.

The armor made for her was very lightweight, and consisted mostly of a chest piece and bracers for both hands and feet, but Ovidiu’s, his was something much more substantial. She had helped him don it that morning, all five pieces, intricately designed to strap and button together; it left him looking like a tank while still retaining the most ease of movement. She could tell though, that he was uncomfortable, especially because the reason for putting this on in the first place was because he was going to fight.

Fight Iorek.

Aldora had been the one to come up with the idea; why not pit their biggest feral warrior against their biggest warrior feline? Ovidiu though was not one for fighting, he was a pacifist just like his would be rival, but also like Iorek, he was quick to succumb to the whims of his friends. And so, after some planning and plenty of cajoling, the day had been set for a spar between cat and dog.

It was mid-morning, the sun not yet too high to cause too much heat, that Aldora and Ovidiu strode out proudly towards the sparring ring near the Courthouse. Her hand rested comfortably on his leather clad haunch; in the armor, he looked a monster. As they neared, there was already a small group of spectators gathered; Honrin, Jace, Leoris… and of course some other curious faces peered down from the Courthouse windows. Ovidiu’s tail flicked nervously, "I not so shor about zis, Aldora…" he said, his piercing blue eyes gazing up at her through the slits of his helmet.

The Knight girl smiled and reached down to remove the visor, allowing his head to be free, Don’t worry about it, Iorek can handle himself. Have fun, get used to the armor, I’ll be here on the sidelines to help you out if I notice anything. She pressed her forehead against his with affection.

No one is safe from nature's savagery, not even the innocent. Only beauty is consistent
None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are.

An enormous creature stood across from the armored tiger. He was a massive figure, four and a half feet tall at the shoulder and would be considered even larger with his thick mane that stretched down his back and his large head; his Secui shape was a hefty figure weighing almost three hundred pounds, easily weighing more than the average Luperci in their Optime form. Thick fur was layered over his bulky frame, easily making him seem larger than he actually was; though he was already a giant creature. His thick limbs held his body up, keeping him steady and was difficult to knock off his feet due to his low center of gravity. The beast was surprisingly bereft of jewelry; his necklaces were tied up so they disappeared into the thick fur around his neck and the only other accessories he had in his mane were feathers. Bandages were wrapped around his forelimbs and he looked ready for combat.

Beside him stood a jackal-dominant hybrid in his Optime form, whom seemed dwarfed by the colossal Secui creature. He was a male with lean muscle and fairly lithe, looking like a warrior with the quiver and arrows on his back. He wore a leather jacket over a dark shirt and a pair of jeans; all crafted by his own hand with buttons to replace the zippers. His leather goggles pushed the hair out of his bright green eyes. He was making sure that the beast was ready, casting a glance at the tiger before looking back at the hybrid.

Iorek had been asked by Aldora to participate in this spar against Ovidiu to test out his armor, and as always, the beast agreed. He had only few interactions with the large cat, and it didn't seem like too much of a task to help his pack mates with this. He may have weighed less than the striped feline, but that didn't faze the beast too much; he didn't even mind if he lost the spar. He was curious about this armor that the others spoke of; he didn't really know too much about armor and considered it to be some kind of clothing. He was unfamiliar with what the armor was truly for, though Riley had tried to explain it to him and the enormous wolfdog could grasp that it was protection.

Riley wasn't sure about pitting the beardog against the overgrown feline; he didn't think that it was that fair to set up a huge armored cat against an armor-less giant Secui. Had he been more skilled and had had more warning, he would have tried to make the beast some kind of armor for his own protection; he was no expert, but he could make some kinds of simple armor due to his tailoring knowledge, though had never applied it to a feral creature. He could have at least crafted something that would protect the hybrid, even though the beast had plenty of fur to give him some degree of protection. The archer spoke quietly to the feral giant, Be careful,.

The oversized hybrid rubbed his massive head and then his shoulder against the jackal fighter, almost like a feline in manner. He observed his opponent, trying to remember what he had been told about armor and what he could observe. The armor looked a bit clunky in his opinion; it looked like it might restrict some movement and possibly even sight. The beast wasn't very fast, but he was sure that with the extra weight, not to mention the feline's massive size that challenged the giant in size, the beast had a slight advantage. Though, the chocolate and cream behemoth wasn't too sure.

The crimson-eyed Cavalier was ready and padded forwards, waiting for the tiger to get ready. He was unfamiliar with his opponent and would play it safe, just until he learned what the creature was capable of. His plan was to wait for the male to attack first as he began circling the tiger in a half-circle and would dodge out of the way of the first attack and then find an opening. The scarlet-eyed Lionheart watched the tiger with a focused carmine gaze, ready to fight.

Ovidiu

OOC || +0

Iorek was waiting, looking every bit as imposing as Ovidiu did. The Lionheart always looked foreboding, and he could be… he could be vicious. But that was not Iorek; the flowers in his crown were usually more dangerous than he. Aldora loved him for that; such a gentle soul in such a menacing looking body.

The tiger slipped underneath the horizontal boards of the sparring ring fence and stepped onto the soft, sandy earth within. The ring was maintained to make any falls as gentle as possible; things could get rough in there. Aldora remember her own spar with Remus those many, many months ago, and Arlen more recently. This, however, was Ovidiu’s first time, and she realized that she had never seen the tiger fight before. The First Officer stood back, arms crossed, a smile on her face.

Ovidiu looked across the ring to Iorek; he was bigger than him, but not by much – Iorek was one of the largest Luperi the cat had ever met. He was nervous, but this was just a spar after-all; no blood would be shed… hopefully.

Iorek padded forward and Ovidiu mirrored him; they were only about two yards away from each other, neither moved. Suddenly from the sidelines Honrin whistled loudly; Ovidiu jerked from being startled, and then swung a paw swiftly at Iorek’s forelegs to begin the match.

Iorek was fairly adept at feral combat, having been training to hone his skills and learning from others; he sparred and asked for guidance from Morty, since the older woman seemed to be a master at this art and had wisdom to share. He had been spending time on sparring with Optime oppnents - especially armed ones - as he noticed that many of the individuals he came across preferred their bipedal forms and often had weapons, which meant that he would have to train to be able to fight against opponents like that. But, the opponent the wolfdog fought against was nothing like any of the opponents he had fought.

The oversized hybrid was focused, even with the crowd around him, having tuned it out; he didn't normally like being in the center of attention but he couldn't be distracted if he was going up against the giant cat. He knew that it was just a spar, but he treated each spar similarly to a real fight - minus the obvious things such as seeking to injure his opponent - and this was no different. The dark and cream behemoth always wanted to be the best sparring partner he could be for everyone that he sparred with and this was no different.

The two giant's faced off, not moving until a whistle from the white Wolfe-Denahlii startled the tiger into action. The orange and black jungle cat swiped at the crimson-eyed Cavalier's forelegs, a fair starting move. The beast hopped backwards but then feinted right and left a couple of times before going towards the left and jumping forwards to lunge at the creature's shoulder, aiming to try to knock over the creature - he wasn't aiming to damage the armor since that was the hard work and resources of one of the blacksmiths. But, if it could come off without breaking, the scarlet-eyed Lionheart had no problem with that.

Sorry for the wait! <3316

Ovidiu

OOC || +0

Iorek was quick, even with Ovidiu’s sudden starting move. The feral warrior dodged easily, and did quick feint step to confuse the tiger, and it worked. He made to tackle the tiger, but upon contact only managed to put the cat off balance; he was massive after all, it would take a lot of work to knock him over. But it was clear that he was startled and out of his element, and fumbled at his recovery.

Aldora pressed against the wood of the fence, Don’t lose focus! She said to her feline companion. His blue eyes met hers for a moment, and he nodded before grounding himself again. This time, he moved instead of just swiping, graceful leaps around the ring were a sight to behold as he tried to get behind Iorek to deliver a pounce of his own.

The Knight girl was fascinated, and in complete awe of Ovi. She had seemed mountain lions run, but nothing like this. His enormous form did not seem capable of such fluid motions, it almost was if he floated. When he leaped, he was nearly her height above the ground, and seemed to do so with ease – he was clearly and apex predator, and something to be feared… if it had not been Ovidiu, she would have been concerned for Iorek in that moment. But his claws were retracted and it was obvious he was just attempting to bull-doze the Healer to the ground with his weight alone. It all happened in the blink of an eye.

354 Lmk if anything needs to be edited! <3

It was rare for Iorek to be met with opponents larger than himself as he was exceptionally large. Had he been one to rely on his size and strength to win a battle, the beast would find himself in a bind when against one that matched or even exceeded his strength. But, the feral fighter was one to use tricks to catch his opponents off-guard which had come about due to most of his opponents' quickness that would make any head-on attack easy to dodge. In this fight, the wolfdog instead was on the other side with the tiger outweighing him.

The oversized hybrid's feint confused the tiger, though his attempt to knock the tiger off his feet or the armor off the tiger had only served to off-balance the beast. The male found that his normal approach of knocking his opponent off of their feet wouldn't work, so he instead used the tiger as a springboard - a move he had seen another smaller opponent attempt - to give him some distance between him and the cat. He knew that it was best to not get too close for too long as it would allow the creature to pin him with his greater weight; though the beast knew how to get out of a pin. But, that move was reserved for only enemies as the cream and chocolate behemoth knew that it was a rather dirty and cruel tactic.

Ovidiu tried to get behind the crimson-eyed Cavalier with graceful leaps and the beast kept the creature in his sight as he knew that if he looked like he was open, the cat would take it. The cat leaped high and the male didn't move but reared up in attempt to grab the cat head on. If the cat knocked him off of his feet - which would be a likely outcome - he would attempt to use the cat's momentum in a roll backwards to try to pin the male. The scarlet-eyed Lionheart had a slight idea on what he would do if the cat ended up pinning him but hoped that that wouldn't be the case.

Aldora Knight

OOC || +3

Iorek was not one to be underestimated, and it showed with how he reacted to Ovidiu’s pounce. Despite the tiger basically flying at him, paws extended, Iorek faced him head-on, literally. He reared up to meet the cat mid-air, and the two of them collided with a sound that Aldora could feel in her chest.

Orange stripes wrapped in leather and dark browns and tans rolled around in the sand of the ring for a moment, before coming to a stop with Iorek on top, pinning Ovidiu to the ground. The position look almost laughable, for the tiger was so much larger compared to Iorek that it looked like a mother wolf snuggling with her growing pup. However, Ovi was on the ground, his back against the dirt, and his white underbelly exposed. Frantic blue eyes sought her out.

Aldora leaned over the top rail of the fence line, Grab him! You’re bigger, remember! She shouted. She knew the cat’s nerves were getting the better of him, he just had to have the courage to react even in the face of failure.

With a guttural snarl, Ovi’s fore-paws swung forward and wrapped themselves around Iorek’s frame, pulling him down into his belly. His back legs then folded up underneath the giant hybrid and kicked.

Now Aldora could not help but laugh; she had seen kittens do this same technique with toys, but seeing it on such a large scale was quite comedic. After several strong kicks to Iorek’s stomach, Ovidiu rolled over and backed off, coming over to the fence line and rubbing his massive head against where she was standing. She reached down and scratched him on the neck, Nice job! You’re a bit rusty though, you and I will have to train together more often. He looked up at her, panting, his eyes somewhat sad, "I zon’t like to fight…" He grumbled, and she smiled softly, No one does…

In the Savage Garden
you shine beautifully, my friend.
Word Count ✿ 378 :: Lmk if the minor pp needs to be changed~ You can end with your post <3 Thanks for the thread!

Riley's heart skipped a beat when he heard the noise of the two giants' collision. He had been on edge as he watched the fight, worried that Iorek was going to get injured as he sparred with a creature larger than himself. The man knew that the hybrid was well-trained and that the tiger was tame, but that didn't comfort him as much. But, it seemed like the beast had managed to get the upperhand as he rolled with the impact and the two creatures tumbling ended with the halfling on top. The archer cheered, though it trailed off as he heard Aldora yell something to the cat.

Iorek landed on top of the cat, pinning the creature after the tumble. For him, a pin meant victory and Ovidiu was looking away, so he must be finished, right? But then he heard Aldora remind the cat of his size and the beast had a split second to process that the fight wasn't over before large paws wrapped around him followed by large hind paws kicking into him. The beast struggled to free himself as the cat delivered several strong kicks before the cat let him go and the wolfdog immediately backed away as it seemed like the cat was finished.

Riley met the oversized hybrid as he turned towards him after backing away. He wasn't sure how much force had been used in the tiger's kicks, but he couldn't see any blood. The man held a hand out as the halfling came close, and the Secui nuzzled his chest as he panted heavily. The Rockateer male couldn't see anything outwardly off with the male, so he ran his fingers through the giant's fur as the creature turned in a circle and the archer's hands ran along the cream and chocolate brute's fur.

The crimson-eyed Cavalier was obviously waiting for something as he turned towards Aldora and Ovidiu. Without little to no warning, he trotted over to the cat and once they were done conversing, the beast approached the cat and if the cat allowed, the beast would rub his head against the great cat, one akin to the normal thanks he gave to his spar partners. And then the scarlet-eyed Lionheart would lope back to the malachite-eyed Officer.

Aldora Knight

Thanks Silver!|| +0

Aldora saw out of the corner of her eye Riley run out to meet Iorek to check on him. Ovidiu also turned to check, just in case; he hadn’t meant to try to hurt Iorek in anyway, just make a point; had he wanted to, he could have gutted the wolf with his back claws. At work though, Iorek should only be winded, and may have a sore stomach for a while.

All was well though as the giant came over to rub heads gently with the cat; Ovi returned the gesture, a deep chuff emanating from his throat, "You fight vell, Yorak." Ovidiu said, his accent somewhat butchering the Lionheart’s name. Aldor also smiled, You finally found your match, huh Iorek? She said in a joking manner, But really, nice job. Your fighting prowess is incredible, perhaps you should train with Ovidiu some more.

The tiger suddenly yawned, stretched, and shook; the leather armor flapped at creaked at the motion, "If you don’t mind," the feline began, "I’d like to take zis off."

Aldora laughed, Sure, let’s head back home and I’ll remove the armor. Maybe then we can also have a bath. The tiger’s eyes perked at this; he loved baths.
