For once in his life Zetsu was managing some sort of responsibility and Shaamah had endured enough of him to warrant leaving the boy to his own devices for a period of time. It was either that or the afternoon could have been filled with the digging of Zetsu's unmarked grave, but Shaamah wasn't in the mindset to watch farm animal. They were still considered food items to him, but the trade that they would provide would be more than enough to keep the two of them going through the month, well-fed. It was dehydrated meats that they needed and neither of the males were capable of performing such task, and Shaamah wouldn't trust his son to make anything that wasn't in some way 'accidentally' poisoned.

For now, however, Shaamah took a lupus form and made his way into the Miramichi wilderness to hunt. Without his armor, it was much more simple for him to get around, and truth be told, it was easier to travel this way. He could better save energy and could travel more distance before his weight protested silently against his bones. Even still, the aging wolf knew he needed water if he was going to continue in the heat of the high sun, and the river dead ends north of Camp Gagetown seemed the perfect place to do that.

Rather than simply taking a drink, the Lupus giant waded into the sleepy water's edge, the crossing of dragonflies and cicadas dirtying the light in the air. He moved in up to his elbow, the cool water lapping against his chest, as he dipped his maw to the plasmic surface and drank his fill. The chill moved down his throat and into his stomach, and he could feel the heat escaping the thick of his plush coat into the waters.

When Jura woke up that morning, watery sun streaming through her cracked bedroom window, a calm sense of purpose had settled over her bones. Her summer so far had been spent tending her herb garden, preparing massive cauldrons of meals in the church for whoever was hungry and generally being less than sociable. She hadn't been... grumpy, per say. She was just a bit of recluse, although she had been making a bit more of an effort to chat with others of late. Today though, she would go hunting. Have a change of scenery to clear her head of its muddle.

The snowy wolf left without eating, eager to get moving. She decided to travel in her secui form, if only for comfort. She headed around the outside of Camp Gagetown, weaving in and out of wrecks at a reckless pace if only for the adrenaline rush she got when she missed a step and narrowly missed hitting something.

Jura made it to the murky river ends when she finally had to have a rest, tongue lolling as she panted heavily. The water looked so tempting to her overheating body, but she resisted the urge to splash straight in and instead settled for lapping at the freezing water, wincing at the sting of it on the back of her throat. It was only when she'd drunk as much as she could and regained her breath that she noticed, in the distance, a mahoosive wolf standing in the middle of the water. She raised her nose to the breeze and inhaled deeply trying to see if she could catch their scent. Something about... him seemed familiar. She could approach, but... could she be bothered? Jura stared at her dusty paws, which were kneading the soggy ground in indecision. Okay, so what's the worst that could happen if she went over and said "hi"? The Mistwalker was trying to be more gregarious, or at least cordial.

Sighing, Jura walked closer to the heavily scarred male. Oh. That's Shaamah. The female stopped just close enough to the male to make herself easily heard and halted. "Hello, Shaamah."

The sound of water filled his ringing ears, the heat slowly dissipating from his blood as he soaked in the waters cool embrace. A charcoal ear flitted backward at the heavier signs of motion, and the beast lifted his head, turning to meet Jura with a lone, cold eye. Water dribbled from his flews and littered the water's surface with little round undulations, and Shaamah assessed the situation before speaking. She was far enough away to nose pose much of a threat, though she wasn't omit from it, and with the greeting she had offered gave more solid proof that she might not be so inclined to suspicious activity. Still, the beast was never comfortable with the presence of others and never brought down that wall.

“Jura,” Her name was met with greeting, still formal, still off-outting, and far less amiable than he had been under the jurisdiction of Sapient. The name Mistfell Vale came to his senses, rosy nares pulling in her scent. It was much more familiar now since Shaamah's first and final Envoy mission within Sapient's crooked King's diplomacy attempt.

Brows wrinkled with the heat of the sun and Shaamah made an effort to turn toward her, lowering his maw back into the water. With the new position, he could keep an eye on her while he drank and bring the heat out of him. This was no heavy summer sun, but with his coat, precautions needed to be made. As a nomad, he couldn't afford to black out. No where was safe, of course, Sapient had further educated him that even packlands were not safe. His assumption that Nova Scotia were any different than the marshes of his youth had come to a dry halt, and the realization was slowly setting back in. There may not be massive scale war here, but these people fought wars on their own fronts. False kings like Nivosus peppered the land just as well as the mire.

Jura's paws returned to kneading the ground as she waited for the hulking male to notice her. Wow, he must've been really thirsty. He eyed her, and oh Jura did not need to cool down anymore because that stare was frosty enough. She remembers well enough that the male hadn't been exactly forthcoming at their first meeting, but his curtness still stumped her. "Jura". The male swivelled around to face the female and took another drink. she couldn't tell whether he was trying to be intimidating or the male was just paranoid like she was gonna do something.

At a loss of what to do next, Jura just looked at the male before sitting down gently. She was far away enough that if the grumpy male did decide to lunge at her as if she was a gnat then she could be up, up and away inn the blink, or wink, of an eye. His scent was different from before, Jura pondered as she curled her brushy tail over her paws. It lacked the pack element. She remembered that Shaamah had seemed pretty proud of his pack and rank when he'd introduced himself. Should she ask or would it touch a nerve?

"It's... nice to see you again. what brings you all the way out here, may I ask?" Remembering the rules of politeness, she added something about herself, "I'm out to hunt,"

The aura was similar between the two of them, but different all the same. Neither one wanted to be too terribly close to one another, for different reasons. Jura seemed chilled by the soldier's frigid gaze and the respect for the reality that Shaamah could encourage between them was recognized, at least. He wouldn't have to go to great lengths to make his personal space known and Jura didn't seem in the market for disrupting that space, either. Still, she made conversation between them.

The pause she took in her wording brought a harder gaze from Shaamah as his body seemed to ignore her, though his mind was clearly focused on her intent. Bringing his muzzle from the water's edge, he parted black lips to offer her the reply in which she requested, but only after explaining her own reasons for being here,” As am I,” He stated clearly. He wasn't about to comment on the fact that he was only truly out here to keep from battering his sun into dust. It could be said that he was going to scavenge for a bit first, but there hadn't been much he'd come across that was worth taking home.

The idea came to his mind that the potential of the two of them hunting together might make more profit for meal if they went together. It sparked an idea in Shaamah's mind and though he wasn't one to play friendly, he knew a good deal when he could see it,” Two might serve greater than one,” He offered. Perhaps, she'd get the idea, and maybe not, but either way, he was going to be able to feed himself well enough.
