Please let Chloe Moineau post first, then this is welcome to anyone who could handle her joining process. :)

The walk back to the pack's lands had been somewhat odd to him. It felt weird to be in Optime while his companion was in Lupus. Based upon his satchel, though, he hadn't wanted to shift back down to a four-legged form. That would make his carrying position very awkward and slow them down. He had been careful to keep his pace comfortable for his friend, though. It would have been easy to leave her behind with his lengthier strides, but he was extremely attentive to the needs of others and paid close attention to make sure she was not uncomfortable. Lochlan had asked her loads of questions on the way to Vinatta, gathering as much knowledge about her as he could so that he could pass that information on to Saul (or, he supposed, a different adult who had acceptance powers) when they got home.

The journey passed swiftly and he was almost surprised when they found themselves at the border of his pack. The smells of home made him smile, eagerly wagging his tail at the idea that soon enough, Miss Moineau might be among their numbers too. It would be great to have another pal to chum around with when he was in the pack lands. He turned to look at her with eagerness in his eyes. "Are you ready?" he asked, waiting for some sign of affirmation before he lifted his muzzle. His melodious call asked for his uncle or another border greeter to assist him with a potential joiner. His howl complete, he lowered his head and dropped the satchel to the ground. "And now, we wait." he wanted to show her the pack on a tour, but he figured it was best to start with the pack acceptance process. He was sure that even if (for some reason he couldn't fathom), his friend was rejected, he could still show her around.

Chloé trotted up beside the taller canine, looking around eagerly with her misty green eyes opened wide to absorb in the sights, which she'd never seen -- let alone heard of -- before. One of her ears twitched, feeling somewhat odd that she wasn't nearly as big as Lochlan was. A disappointed huff of air pushed past her darkly colored nose at the thought of perhaps being smaller than most of wolves, or dogs, residing in this area. Her tail hung limply, giving a small sway when the boy talked, ears swiveling towards him. "And now we wait," she repeated after he'd spoken and his howling, wondering how long it would take for someone to show up.

The girl adjusted her position slightly, stretching her head upwards and trying to seem a bit bigger, taking in a large breath until it filled her lungs, hoping to expand her chest a bit, which she supposed would help, though didn't do much anyways. Chloé gave a brief, quiet exhale, shuffling her paws against the ground and waiting to see what would happen next and what type of procedures there would be -- she'd never even heard of most of the packs before this. Her wet nose twitched at the different scents, attempting to pick up what they could be though finding it difficult to do so.

jeeez, overlapping timelines suck! vague post is vague cause saul is dealing with two joiners on one day!

The afternoon was warm and gentle on the grey Virding's head and shoulders. Summer was beginning to make itself known, the lands of Vinátta blooming with bright flowers and flourishing in greenery. Of course, summer was never quite the cloudless sky and bright sunshine as many might have liked. Flash showers had plagued the lands all day and made lounging around on the grass too muddy to really consider. Despite the rain, it was warm and humid, the air oppressive as though it was pressing down around him. Small chips of wood fell periodically from his working hands, never able to just sit and do nothing. He'd collected a fallen branch of the white willow tree in the Grove. Although it was a little pre-emptive, now that Shiloh's pups were due any day he knew they'd need Frithr necklaces shortly and there seemed to be a few more members in Vinátta now that the weather was warmer

Perched outside his house, it took a moment for Saul to realise that the masculine howl coming from the borders was his nephew. What on earth was Loch doing on the borders? For a brief moment, panic rushed through him. What if he'd done something stupid or made a bad decision? Was he calling his family to the borders to say goodbye? Before he could let these thoughts override his mind he quickly put his stool and carving materials back inside. He thought about letting Niernan handle it, it was his son afterall. But his natural curiosity pulled him forward and before long he was moving swiftly through the decidedly damp lands that he loved.

Heading out towards the borders, he glanced briefly overhead to catch another dark cloud that held the promise of more rain. At the moment, the male would have welcomed a downpour, the humidity did not make for good running conditions. By the time he spotted the contrasting colours of his nephew he was panting heavily and he slowed to a walk trying to get his breathing under control. Green eyes fixed on the smaller Lupus figure next to his nephew as he came to a natural stop in front of them. "Loch, I didn't expect to see you out on the borders." His greeting was warm if not a little questioning before he glanced down at the female. "Hello, I'm Saul Lochlan's Uncle and leader of Vinátta. Can I help?" Once again his tone was warm and friendly, although his pose was naturally dominant with ears and tail raised, green eyes on the girls face for a moment as he waited for some answers.

This is a continuation on our thread from 06/01 if that date works better for you. I probably should have referenced that in the first post, sorry!

I also have a very fluid timeline and don't really keep close track of dates, so if another date works for you two and you want to change it, that is fine with me. :)

He grinned encouragingly at the Moineau female. Of course Loch had never participated in one of these things before. Border patrols and greeting jobs were normally assigned to wolves more advanced in the hierarchy. He was still on the edge of Aeska/Hollr despite the recent ritual to claim him as an adult for the Viking pack. The boy still figured he had at least a basic understanding of how this whole process worked. Besides, his uncle was the one in charge of the pack. It wasn't like there was some intimidating figure that was going to come greet them. If someone else came, it would be Colibri or Niernan, more than likely. Neither of them intimidated him either, though he respected them. Overall, he felt rather comfortable that this would be a smooth transaction.

The boy saw his uncle approach and lowered his head in respect. He wasn't as tall as Saul (though perhaps he would get there), and so he didn't need to really lower his body more than that to show his deference to the leader's rank. There was a downward slant to his shoulders as well, though, a bow to show his much lower rank. Lochlan's ears twitched as Saul spoke, a smile creeping back onto his lips. "I wasn't purposefully patrolling, uncle. I went out to Fort Cumberland and met Chloé there. After telling her about our pack, she was very interested in seeking a position within our ranks." the younger Stormbringer explained, looking to his Lupus pal. Expecting that she would speak next on her skills and desire to join. Of course, Loch had learned a lot of that on their walk. It would be awkward - and probably would not look great - if he was to do all the talking for her, though.

((ooc: pretty much after this thread I'm rp'ing her as a luperci verto because dates and stuff are bums bluh))
[WC: 210]

At the arrival of Lochlan's uncle, and the pack's leader, she pulled her head back slightly and looked shyly at the tall individual, feeling small -- a bit like a small bird surrounded by eagles, or something along those lines. Her head tipped in a somewhat awkward bow, since her position was a bit odd, feeling that this canine deserved a fair bit of respect and she ought to give it to him somehow (she didn't really know how to do so, though, and supposed a tip of her head would do). The canine sputtered a bit, before letting out a hushed, "Interested in joining," although Lochlan had already said so. Her paws shuffled somewhat and she loosened her posture a bit, exhaling slowly.

The darkly colored wolf let out a small sigh, since she really couldn't do much since she didn't have those people-hands everyone else seemed to have. One of her paws lifted off of the grounds sadly and then dropped back down again. "I can hunt pretty good but not much else, I guess," she declared, far from proudly. The darkly colored wolf let out a huff of warm air past her blackberry colored nose, head lowered slightly since she was embarrassed by her lack of skills.

okaaay, adjusted the mention of Shi's pups in my first post to make more sense, im good for setting this the 1st June!

Although Saul had never demanded respect from the pups of the pack, it was about this time in their lives that they began to learn about the concept of respect and submission. Problems occurred when the pups ascended into the adult ranks and still thought it okay to do as they pleased and whenever they wanted. The male had never been one to assert his dominance in any aggressive sense but he wasn't unprepared for the situation when one of the pups would overstep their mark. It was his job to put them in their place, despite Vinátta's more relaxed ranks and hierarchy. As he approached he saw his nephew's posture drop back into a more submissive pose and he was pleased to know that Niernan had taught his son right.

Lochlan answered first, a semi-apology as to his presence on the borders. Saul knew at some point the pups would fledge as it was, exploring the outside world with as much vigour as they'd explored their home. He supposed at the very least Fort Cumberland wasn't far away and Lochlan appeared to have been productive about his time out there. His gaze briefly touched on the female, who's almost surly (or perhaps just shy) concurrence with his nephew caused a nod from his head. He didn't have to wait long before she'd lifted a paw almost dejectedly and he realised that she was a non-Luperci. Perhaps the only one in Vinátta as far as he was aware.

"Good hunters and able bodies are always welcome in Vinátta." He offered warmly, trying to make the girl a little less embarrassed about her 'lack' of skills. The pack needed feeding after all and one did not need hands to patrol and protect the borders. "Where have you come from, before here? Where are your family?" He asked, trying to gauge whether or not there would be any trouble from the females past catching up with her.

Loch knew that underneath the shyness that the Moineau female was displaying right now was a creature of affection, exuberance, and strong manners. She had proven all of these things to him when he first met her, which was why he had brought her here. If he hadn't seen the qualities of the Vikings in her, he would never have brought her home. Certainly if he had, it would have been just for a tour. Instead, he had wanted to make her more a part of his daily life. They could be packmates and see each other regularly, instead of sporadically. Of course, she would want to see the sheep, as he had promised he would show them to her. Maybe she would even want to help tend to them someday.

At her self-deprecating explanation of her skills, his ears flicked back a bit. Cerulean eyes looked slantwise at her in faint disapproval because he knew she was selling herself short. It wasn't his place to reprimand or correct her, though, so he merely waited to hear what Saul would say about it. It seemed he was happy enough at the possibility of another capable hunter. This was actually something that Loch himself needed to improve, at least on the land. Maybe he could have Chloe show him some of her techniques later, when they were on their tour. For now, he remained still and waited as Saul asked another question of the joiner. This was something it hadn't occurred to Lochlan to ask her on their way. Mostly because her past mattered not at all to him, it was her present that mattered to Loch. This was part of why he wasn't a leader; he didn't think ahead far enough to even realize danger could come back to get them from a joiner's past.

whew whew whew - [261]

The darkly colored she-wolf blinked appreciatively at the alpha, since she'd obviously be of some use (which she thought was hardly any). Her nose tipped downwards in a nod, glancing over at Lochlan, who'd been kind enough to escort her to the borders -- she'd probably have gotten lost and fell off something otherwise. Her position shifted somewhat at the tall canine's next question, staring quietly at his feet for a moment, taking a second to wonder where Absolon happened to be before answering. "Er, my father Absolon came from a pack a ways away, or I don't actually know where it is.. or him, we were traveling together for a bit but we split up and I've just been near here since," she stated, craning her neck upwards to look at both of the individuals, who were probably twice the size as she was -- she'd thought Lochlan was pretty tall before, though his uncle seemed to be taller.

"That's pretty much it," she finished, exhaling afterwards, wondering if he'd have any other questions afterwards; she didn't really know because she'd never really run into any of the packs before, let alone tried to join them. Her head lowered again somewhat, looking a tad bit pitiful which probably wouldn't help her out at all, they'd probably just think she was stupid, and not worth their time. A somewhat agitated huff pushed past her nose, since she was a bit mad at herself for seeming -- odd? One of her black ears twitched, patiently waiting for somebody to say something again.

thats all good then! :D

Lochlan remained quiet as Saul questioned the female he'd bought home with him. He supposed his nephew might feel just a modicum of the responsibility Saul felt for the whole pack; he'd bought the female here and if something were to happen he imagined his nephew would feel responsible. Hopefully, the female would cause no trouble in their lands and Lochlan would feel accomplished that he'd managed to recruit an upstanding member of Vinátta. His attention drew back to the dark female as she named her father. It seemed her upbringing was simple and uncomplicated and her being here seemed nothing more than the natural dispersal of one wishing to go off on her own. Although he probably should have asked just to make certain, he didn't think there would be much trouble from the female or her past catching up with her.

"Well, it seemed my nephew made the right choice in bringing you home with him Chloé. I'm sure you'll be a great addition to our ranks." He could see the almost dejected way that the female looked down and he hoped he could alleviate some of the anxiety that she must be feeling. Saul hadn't been through the process in any kind of severity; joining Dahlia had been a rather dramatic affair with his Aunt Bris finding him almost dying on the borders from exhaustion and hunger. He'd helped to found the other packs he'd been a part of and therefore he hadn't needed to go through such a process. But he could empathise with the female. "If you'd like to accompany me back to Jordheim, I have something for you." He offered with a smile before turning and moving back towards the village, hoping the pair would keep up.

The young Stormbringer knew that he couldn't interfere either way on the matter of the loner's joining. It was enough that he was there with her, showing his support for her entrance to the pack. To attempt anything further would just be inappropriate, at least in his opinion. There wasn't much he could say, anyway; she had to display her abilities for herself. The Vinattan Hollr did feel responsibility for her, though, since he had recommended her. So he would be making sure that his recruit was able-bodied and did well for the pack. Otherwise he would feel horrible for having brought her here. Not that he thought Saul expected every one of her actions to reflect Loch, but at the very least he had to shoulder some responsibility for this. Though she probably could have gained entrance into the pack on her own, too.

When Saul said that Lochlan had made a good choice, the young wolf let his tongue fall out a bit and his tail wag in pleasure. He was glad that he had found someone good to join their family and that she was going to be allowed into their pack. Then they were headed toward Jordheim for her welcoming. The boy leaned down to butt his head up against Chloe's shoulder (unless she moved away from his touch, in which case he would pull back). "Welcome to the pack! I'll show you around after Saul finishes up with his stuff." the boy said softly to her. Not so that his uncle couldn't hear, just so that he wasn't yelling in her ear. He stood up and walked carefully to keep pace with her again, since she was in her four-legged form. Lochlan was actually interested to see what happened right after a leader accepted a wolf. He had never been a part of this before. It was interesting!
