- Vieira Lykoi - 05-08-2010
The scent of the caves, of those that lived there, filled her nose, and slowly she came to trot from where she had come. Her knuckles ached from gripping the handle as hard as she could and a raw spot formed where it had been hitting and rubbing against her legs but the ache there did not bother her. None of it did. She was breathing heavily, bent over as she walked, her free hand on her hip and she realized she ached there. Vieira did not have the stamina as a runner, which caused her legs to give out and hit the ground. The bucket was forgotten, some feet away, and she was landed somewhere near her garden. Her cheeks were still wet from her tears, even if the ceased while she had been running, but now as she were on the ground outside the group of caves, she started to cry again.
Vieira heaved a long breath, unable to get enough wind after the run in addition to trying to cry at the same time. Her eyes closed tightly as she tried to regain any sort of relief from the pain she felt but it was hopeless and she just tried to suffer through it, riding it out until it was over. - Kaena Lykoi - 05-17-2010
306 The silver-furred woman was in her cave, her thoughts on the sable-furred canine who had showed up on the borders days prior. Eris represented a problem—fully grown now, she was certainly different from her siblings. It was undeniable anymore—she had not seen Arkham since he had fully matured, but she had seen Rachias, her lovely hybrid features declaring her father a coyote, at least in part. Her sable-furred half-sister, on the other hand, clearly showed far more wolfish features. There would be no passing Laruku or Astaroth off as her father—neither coyote could have paternity over such a clearly wolf-dominant hybrid. Perhaps those not so knowledgeable in the blends of various canine types would be fooled, but Kaena knew better. The silver-shaded coyote held no doubt that most of the Lykoi might also be able to discern that something was off about Eris—perhaps they could not say so as definitively as she, but they would know. The sound of running drew her attention, and after a moment she emerged from the cave in time to see Vieira collapse by the small garden she had been attempting to cultivate. The silver-shaded hybrid saw no sense in that—come winter, it would be as dead and free of green as the rest of the waste, whereas the greenhouse would still be warm and hospitable to the plants. Distress marked the tawny-furred woman, and the scarred elder did not have to wonder why—the vague scent of Eris clung to Viei's fur, and the one-eyed woman winced, considering she might have told Vieira about Eris's arrival—now it would seem the Quintus had figured it out on her own. Hesitantly the scarred woman made her way toward Viei, halting behind her. “She's come home, I guess,” the coyote said flatly. “I should have warned you.” .kae-giftshae p{text-indent:25px; padding:0px 10px 10px 10px; margin:0px; } .kae-giftshae b{color:#5C4033;font-family:georgia;font-size:12px;letter-spacing:-1px;} </style>
- Vieira Lykoi - 06-06-2010
"Did she... did she come back for me?" she asked, her voice breaking through her question because she was afraid. What if she was really back for her? And would Kaena give her up since she had only been a gift? Tightening her jaw, her eyes welled up again. "Please... miss Kaena, don't let me go back with her," she cried. Vieira did not often ask for things about herself but she was comfortable here, Kaena was good to her, and she had even put on a little more weight than she had before. The comfort of routine—despite the war—had been something she liked, there had been minimal violence and punishment and her good work was not taken for granted and she was not punished without reason. - Kaena Lykoi - 06-15-2010
In Character
There was fear plastered all over the pale gold coyote's face, and the silver-shaded woman's sable ears folded back against her skull. She sat down rather abruptly on her haunches and peered up at Vieira, shaking her head firmly at the younger canine's question. “No,” she responded. “No, you aren't going back with her. Did she hurt you?” the hybrid asked, peering over the smaller canine's body for signs of visible injury. There was only the clear indication of fear and panic in the younger canine's face. “If she's hurt you, she'll pay like any other Inferni member attacking another,” the coyote said, her russet muzzle wrinkling into a faint snarl. This was not right—this coyote should not have had to fear for her life that she would be given away. Even if Kaena did not do such a thing, what if she dropped dead tomorrow? Would Eris try to claim Vieira as her property, then? The hybrid would not have that. .kae-funeral p { text-indent:25px; padding:0px 40px 0px 40px; margin:0px 0px 20px 0px; } .kae-funeral b { color:#A4F62D } .kae-funeral { background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://digital-bonsai.com/katew/rp/kae/ ... header.jpg); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #577104; width:446px; padding:166px 0px 1px 0px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#e4f7c9; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:1pt; line-height:12px; } .kae-funeral-text {font-family:georgia; font-size:11pt; color:#A4F62D; word-spacing:-.5pt; letter-spacing:0px; font-weight:bold; font-variantmall-caps; margin:0px 40px 0px 40px; border-bottom:1px dotted #CCFF00; width:366px; line-height:18px;} </style>
- Vieira Lykoi - 06-16-2010 I swear, I have sneezed at least twenty times tonight. Make that twenty one. :|
"No," she said quietly, shaking her head. Eris didn't hurt her physically. She just mentally stressed her out and she felt a shake, a cold chill run down her spine. She leaned back so her rump sat against her feet and her hands folded neatly in her lap. Vieira had so many more questions but she was afraid of the answers. Afraid to find out things were going to be terrible in her favor. Clenching her jaw, she lifted a hand to wipe at her eyes finally. Her sandy colored cheeks were wet and she tried to dry them, only to smear and wet her face further. "Why... why is she here?" she finally asked though she was afraid for speaking out of turn when she might not normally be but the stress had her mindset reeling back in progress. - Kaena Lykoi - 06-29-2010
So like, I am a fail. :O In Character
The smaller canine made her way forward toward Kaena, and instinctively the silver-shaded hybrid knelt down to the woman's level, reaching out with one hand. The scarred canine placed this hand awkwardly on one of Vieira's tawny shoulders, squeezing gently in reassurance. As the other canine straightened up, Kaena did as well, slumping into a seated position across from the Quintus. Her single eye remained on the other canine, a troubled look flickering across her scarred features. Once again the thought of the other canine being passed along lingered on the Centurion's mind; she was always close to death, and at her age, it was impossible to gauge how long she had left. She felt healthy enough; she was not sickly or weak, nor did she show signs of her age. Even so, this year, she would be eleven, and prior to the advent of Lupercism, such an age was unheard of in the wild. Frowning, the coyote rolled her ashen shoulders in a shrug. “I don't really know. I got the impression she wasn't wanted anywhere else anymore,” the coyote woman said. “Astaroth isn't her father,” the coyote said suddenly, almost blurting this out. She did not think Vieira knew this; Eris hadn't up until very recently, after all. The ashen hued woman again shrugged, though one corner of her coal-colored lips lifted upwards. “Maybe that had something to do with it,” she mused, looking to Vieira. She knew nothing about the society that had spawned these two canines, and the tawny-furred woman might have more insight to Eris's sudden appearance rather than Kaena herself. .kae-funeral p { text-indent:25px; padding:0px 40px 0px 40px; margin:0px 0px 20px 0px; } .kae-funeral b { color:#A4F62D } .kae-funeral { background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://digital-bonsai.com/katew/rp/kae/ ... header.jpg); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #577104; width:446px; padding:166px 0px 1px 0px; text-align:justify; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#e4f7c9; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:1pt; line-height:12px; } .kae-funeral-text {font-family:georgia; font-size:11pt; color:#A4F62D; word-spacing:-.5pt; letter-spacing:0px; font-weight:bold; font-variantmall-caps; margin:0px 40px 0px 40px; border-bottom:1px dotted #CCFF00; width:366px; line-height:18px;} </style>
- Vieira Lykoi - 07-13-2010 This is short, I am sorry. I wasn't sure what to have her do really.
- Kaena Lykoi - 07-14-2010
312 The ash-colored coyote knew next to nothing about her daughter, and she did not truly desire to know more than she did. What Eris had shown her thus far proved nothing but that she was a spoiled little shit, and that she had absorbed far more from Astaroth than her absentee mother, or even her unknown father. There was arrogance and petulance both there, a simpering sort of uselessness that could not see its own failure; even Vieira, who could not even hunt for herself, far surpassed Eris in terms of usefulness. The coyote woman's yellow-golden eye grew distant at the smaller canine's question, thinking over this. Part of Kaena wanted to drive Eris back to the place from whence she came; part of Kaena did not care if she never saw her daughter again. Even so, blood was blood, and the hybrid could not altogether abandon her own. A frown crossed her scarred muzzle, and her ears turned back, tilting to the rear just slightly. “If she doesn't do anything to get herself kicked out, she won't be,” the hybrid said. “It's on her,” the hybrid added, rolling a coal-shaded shoulder anxiously. The coyote woman frowned at the paler canine, her one-eyed gaze focused back on the other canine. Once again the creeping sensation that Vieira could be passed along like so much property haunted her, and the silver-shaded woman turned her nose to the ground, her gaze refusing to meet Vieira after just a moment. “Vieira,” she said, lifting her gaze once more. Nervousness pervaded her every movement and expression; she could not seem to remain still for more than thirty seconds at a time without readjusting her position. “I don't want to own you anymore. I don't want you to be owned anymore,” she said, speaking quickly, revising her rough thoughts even as she gave them to the Quintus. .kae-begin .ooc {font-style:italic; } .kae-begin p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .kae-begin b {color:#E9B52A; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .kae-begin {background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://tbd.sleepyglow.net/kaena/ipb/kae_begin.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:180px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #E9B52A; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#C57622; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:400px; text-align:justify; } .kae-begin-border {width:402px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; } .kae-begin .separator{width:320px; border-bottom:1px dotted #E9B52A; margin:0 auto 5px auto;} </style>
|
