- Tokyo Chance - 05-28-2010
Omg, wat, it's a post. :O Let me know if you mind the slight pp in her noticing King's been with Haku~
King wasn't so much a child anymore. Oh, he still had a lot of growing left to do. Still a lot of muscle and flesh to gain, still a lot of things to learn, before he'd be ready to take his place as leader of Dahlia. But.. his mind, it could comprehend more complex ideas, now. She could read it in his sharp, clever eyes. He didn't speak much, but it was a trait that reminded Tokyo of Haku, and thus she saw it as a sign of strength. It was the first time she had cared for a child of this age, the first time that she had had to think about it and decide that Yes, he was old enough, now. Princess and Buttface had done all their growing up elsewhere. They had left when younger, and returned adults. Stupid, worthless adults, but adults none-the-less.
For all her coddling of her precious son, she was not the sort of mother to refuse to see the strong, blossoming male in favor of her baby boy. She didn't care for youth as a general rule, and as much as she adored every moment of watching King mature, she was eager for his adulthood, to watch him realize his full potential. She wanted to speak to him of what had happened, when Haku had been cast from Dahlia, about her own refusal to assist his father. He had smelled of him, lately. And while she approved of him taking an interest in their son, she was nervous that he might be trying to poison him away from her. Paranoia came easily to Tokyo, when she had lost two children to evil influences already. Not that Haku was evil. Well, sort of. She had rather mixed feelings about the wolf, and didn't want to have much else to do with him, but was glad that he had contributed to the creation of her perfect child, her best contribution to society as a whole.
She dug through her piles of clothing in the corner, picking up a strange clump of purple cloth. It took a few moments to unwrap the item, and once she did she studied the object. It was a skull, that of a coyote, small bits of rotting flesh still clinging here and there. Tokyo had done her best to scrape off the flesh and fur, but had decided the job would be easier once it had aged a little more. Holding it carefully, still with both hands, she climbed out of her den and descended the short path to the ocean. Crouching down in the shallow water, she did what she could to clean it further. It was improved, if not yet as pristine as she'd like. Ah, well, time would only continue assisting her in the meanwhile.
Tokyo set the skull down at the entrance to her den, then folded her legs into a cross-legged position. She half-toyed with the idea of calling King, but decided not to. He would likely be back soon, as he had been gone from home a fair bit of time. When he returned, he'd surely question the skull, and his mother would guide the conversation from there down the paths she wished to traverse with her precious boy. .tokyo001 b {font-weight:bold; color:#ecd5b1; letter-spacing:1px; } .tokyo001ooc {font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#838279; text-align:right;} .tokyo001 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .tokyo001 {margin:0 auto; width:365px; background-color:#02020c; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/ ... kyo001.jpg); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #ecd5b1; padding: 0px 0px 220px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#838279; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:1px; line-height:12px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- King Chance - 06-03-2010

- Tokyo Chance - 06-06-2010
no worries on either count, i'll be vague too ^^;
Tokyo's face twitched a smile at his words, brief and fleeting. Her heart swelled with pride; this was not unusual when around her son, but in particular this moment she was proud of his utter stoicism in, quite literally, the face of death. No worthy child of hers would flinch at a fresh-looking skull. All his composure belied was curiosity, and a bit of self-satisfaction at his witty greeting. "What a question. Unfortunately I forgot to catch his name before I ran him through with my long knife. He was speaking ill of Dahlia. Of your father. Didn't feel much need to exchange pleasantries." She spoke casually, although in reality a little thrill ran up her back at the memory. God, the power she had felt, standing over that corpse. He had deserved to die. His words had dug himself his grave. Metaphorically, of course. His actual flesh was surely long-digested by scavengers by this point.
She tossed half a fish her son's way, supposing him hungry. King usually would, even though he was capable of hunting on his own at this point. He was growing so fast, transforming sustenance directly into his own increasing size. She examined the long knife just spoken of; it was leaning on the wall against her, within easy reach. Because what was the point of having an item of self-defense around if you had to dig it out of piles of miscellaneous treasures? Tokyo slid it down in front of her. There was still blood on it, dry and flaking off as she moved it. It was amazing how much a weapon could make up from the lack of physical strength that had haunted her all her life. If you played your cards right, if your enemy wasn't expecting any danger from you... A long-knife was a bit hard to wield subtly, but still. The new possibilities had been flashing through her mind from days. She would have to be careful, though. Murder was a crime not easily forgiven if discovered.
"He was the first canine I ever killed." The lie did not carry any overtones of deception. Beyond the fact that her lies rarely did, this one was something believed by the speaker. Tokyo certainly did not count the three siblings that Princess and Buttface had once had. They were never really alive, just squealing, mewling, helpless disgusting little things. "What do you think of that, King? Do you think me weaker than your father, for it?" Her tone was pleasant and level, non-accusatory in the least. She wanted to hear his thoughts on the matter, and didn't doubt he would provide them honestly. .tokyo001 b {font-weight:bold; color:#ecd5b1; letter-spacing:1px; } .tokyo001ooc {font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#838279; text-align:right;} .tokyo001 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .tokyo001 {margin:0 auto; width:365px; background-color:#02020c; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/ ... kyo001.jpg); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #ecd5b1; padding: 0px 0px 220px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#838279; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:1px; line-height:12px; text-align:justify;} </style>
|
