9. Initial post: Finally, they'd made it to a pack. Dmitri glanced behind him to make sure Sasha was still following. Once he got to that scent boundary he stopped and took a few steps back and sat down. He wasn't in some huge hurry to be accepted into this new pack; actually, he would've preferred to explore around some but Sasha had been just a tad been antsy and he wanted his brother to be comfortable. Once they got accepted he'd explore the lands before going elsewhere to look around. He was, however, quite excited to meet the locals and begin to make friends. He let out a woof for Sasha to come settle by him so they could wait for someone to come along.

Welcome to 'Souls! Pleased to meet the pair of you. Geneva Stockholm sauntered across the territory boundaries in her Optime form today. For some reason, she felt that walking on two legs would be best. She did not have any difficulty traveling in either form, but recently she preferred the dexterity that came with her Optime form, especially when it came to caring for her young son, Pripyat. The boy had so much energy and he was definitely a handful. However, Pripyat was mindful of his overly cautious mother, and so she did not have much to be worried about. She found it hard to put her anxiety to rest anyway. The slight, gray colored Whilom felt her ears prick up when the sound of a bark interrupted the relative quiet of her relaxed patrol of the borders. Geneva did not have a working sense of smell, and so she actively relied on her other senses. She spun on her heel and walked the short way that brought her to what she believed would be the source of the sound. Her instincts did not let her down. Geneva's lime green eyes took in the forms of two strangers. At first glance, she could tell that they were full grown males. One was in Optime form and the other was in lupus form. They seemed to be conferring with one another. Geneva made her presence known shortly, a curious glint in her eye as she took in the duo. She noted the glint of jewelry on one of the male's. That made her think of Nikolai, a male she had once met and spent some time with, but those memories were hazy and belonged to an entirely different lifetime. One side of the woman's face was scarred, an inset of pearly lines delicately creating an indelicate fault line across her temple and ending in the too tight stretching of the flesh and fur around one eye. It was a subtle disfigurement, but one that became more apparent as her expressions changed. The woman's voice was soft, as it always was, although it held some curiosity and the faint echo of the authority that came with her position within the pack. "Hello, gentlemen. You are almost within the boundaries of Phoenix Valley, the pack that lays claim to these lands. Are you looking for something, or someone?" .orangelily b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFF00; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily i {color:#CC0000; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px; color:#FFFFFF} .orangelily p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .orangelily {margin:0 auto; width:376px; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i34.tinypic.com/30uzhuv.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 5px 0px 349px 0px; font-family: optima; font-size:12px; color:#FF6600; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Dmitri Volsky - 08-23-2010
OOC: Pleasure to meet you, as well. Sasha came up beside him and sat down, listening as well as he always had. Sometimes he felt bad ordering him around, other times it just felt right. He never seemed to mind, really, so other than the passing thought he didn't really think much about it. His tail wagged some more as he gave a simple nod of his head to his brother's returned question, noticing how unenthusiastic he sounded. Dimi tilted his head and quirked a brow at his lighter colored half. "Ochenʹ ubeditelʹno." he said with a slight smirk at the oh-so-serious male before he quickly corrected his stance. He'd been so excited, of course he didn't really think to hold himself properly for when whoever came to accept them showed up. Flipping his red-brown ears back and curling his tail to his hind leg, only adjusting his head enough to look polite and not overly submissive. He was too excited to hold his head low like Sasha.
Ochenʹ ubeditelʹno.= Very convincing.
- Aleksandr Volsky - 08-23-2010

- Geneva Stockholm - 08-23-2010
Table by Draggar ♥. The pair's straight forward and genial response genuinely pleased Geneva. She smiled pleasantly at them, some of her natural warmth shining through the mantle of authority she sometimes donned at the borders. Strangers naturally made the new mother wary. She found herself thinking three steps ahead of her current situation, something that she had not done instinctively before motherhood. The gray Whilom now looked at things from all different angles, and while she was still open-minded, she had so many more reasons to be guarded and cautious as well. She had never dreamed that there could be so many different facets within her life, so many dimensions that could push and pull her in different directions while she was making decisions. Often she tasted the bitter herb of responsibility spiced with the sweetness of love, and that made all the difference to her. Dimi and Sasha seemed open enough, making their intentions plain to see, and so she regarded them with the same honesty, deciding to make her own concerns known as well. Geneva also realized that her mother tongue did not come so naturally to Dmitri, and Sasha did not speak very much either, although his words were flavored with honesty and friendliness, she felt. The look of concentration on Dmitri's face made Geneva decide to try to communicate more effectively with them. She made a conscious effort to pause the rhythm of her words, although she did not slow her speech so much that she would insult the pair. "Welcome, Dmitri and Aleksandr. My name is Geneva. I am the..." she looked for the right word, knowing that Phoenix Valley vernacular would probably not be the best understood by the nonnative speakers. "...the Advisor to the Alpha. It is possible for you to join the pack. But first I need to know a little bit about you. Can you tell me where you came from, why you want to join the pack, and what skills you have?" Although the males were in two different forms, it was easy for Geneva to see that they were both physically fit and apparently healthy at first glance. Dmitri was particularly striking in his Optime form, but she could not decide if it was because of the contrasting colors of his pelt. His brows were dark across his face, lending even more character to his expression. Between the two of them, Aleksandr seemed to be more sociable. Despite the few words he had spoken, his body language seemed more open, or something like that. For a moment, her thoughts turned to Bindu, the young female who had quite suddenly fallen into her care. She hoped that the front that these two were presenting was indeed truthful, because Geneva had many relying on her judgment for their safety. The wolfess was a full head and shoulders shorter than her mate, Jefferson, and lithe and thin, her bones delicate and small. Her strength did not lay within her body; instead, the Whilom relied keenly upon her logic. The doubt she was feeling came from the sense of "newness" of actually operating in the pack again, she knew. With a little faith in herself, she hoped that this border interview would end well. .orangelily b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFF00; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily i {color:#CC0000; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px; color:#FFFFFF} .orangelily p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .orangelily {margin:0 auto; width:376px; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i34.tinypic.com/30uzhuv.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 5px 0px 349px 0px; font-family: optima; font-size:12px; color:#FF6600; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Dmitri Volsky - 08-23-2010
OOC: Deb you don't have to match this I just keep rambling. xD <3 The silence that had come from Sasha had been someone expected; he didn't need to say any more. He was obviously a little lost in thought and he could tell he was tired as well. Dimi would just leave him be to think his thoughts and mess with the grass below his feet like some awkward little puppy. He flung a pebble at his side and he couldn't help but give Sasha another curious look; he could never really understand what went on in that head of his. Which, he supposed, was okay. Sasha deserved his privacy. He left the pebble on the ground beside him alone to concentrate on the female that showed up.
- Aleksandr Volsky - 08-23-2010

- Geneva Stockholm - 08-24-2010
Table by Draggar ♥. Welcome to the pack The Whilom listened thoughtfully to what Dmitri had to say. Geneva could not remember ever hearing of such a skill, but she did not doubt that it could be useful. The woman nodded once Dimi was finished speaking, but did not have long to think of a response to form because Aleksandr spoke next. She smiled down at him. It was obvious that he wanted to make a good impression, and she appreciated the fact that he wanted to take an active part in this border interview. She was impressed by the fact that, despite his difficulty with English, he still wanted to communicate what he could offer. "It sounds like you have a lot to offer," the Whilom said. "I am accepting you both under the Loas rank, which is the starting rank in Phoenix Valley. You will be able to move up the ranks based on your efforts to contribute to the pack, if it is your wish to move up." The lime-eyed wolfess spoke a bit more about pack business before moving on to a different topic. "The leader of Phoenix Valley is Jefferson." When she said his name, her tone became a little warmer. Jefferson was her mate, and she knew that he would want to meet the Russian duo before long. "He and I live in the ranch, which is more toward the center of the territory, with our son, Pripyat. If you have any questions or need help, then you may find us there." For all intents and purposes, that took care of everything she had to say. Geneva shrugged then, her attitude becoming a little more carefree. The pair of brothers was free to roam. They could go where they pleased within the territory. "I hope that you will like it here." .orangelily b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFF00; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily i {color:#CC0000; letter-spacing:1px; } .orangelily .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px; color:#FFFFFF} .orangelily p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .orangelily {margin:0 auto; width:376px; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i34.tinypic.com/30uzhuv.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 5px 0px 349px 0px; font-family: optima; font-size:12px; color:#FF6600; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Dmitri Volsky - 08-24-2010
Yeah, Sasha saved him with continuing on listing all that they could do; there was, of course, more, but Dimi would leave it at that. He gave his brother a grin before turning back to Geneva who seemed to take a liking to his brother and appreciated how he was trying to interact. Good on him; he'd fit in well here, he just knew it. He shifted slightly where he squatted before lowering a knee to the ground to steady himself, tilting his head slightly to the side as she spoke. Ears were politely directed forward to listen and he smiled excitedly when she accepted them; he'd have to take time to learn the ranks and meet everyone if he could. Especially this Jefferson, who Geneva seemed to feel fondly for. He figured the two were close by the slight change in her voice.
