The stitches had been taken out a week and a bit later but he was on strict instructions from MD Demi to keep it elavated and not to use it too much. That hadn't exactly worked with the coyote who remained nameless intruded into the caves of Anathema. Such a bold act of intrusion had infuriated with warrior and he'd dragged the tiny creature out by its ear. After a short bout of anger management where the coyote had become his punch bag, Teddy had gone to leave it for dead. Naniko did not see it fit to let him die a slow death however and the pale lady had dealt the final blow. Though mostly a hit to his ego, Teddy had allowed his leader to kill the coyote. The warrior would never be haunted by the kills made by him, or the bloody pulp he had reduced the coyote to before Naniko had turned up. But he had had trouble sleeping the night after. This was rarely anything to worry about- Teddy was not a good sleeper at the best of times and usually attempted to sleep with one eye open. He had made his home near the entrance of the cave system so he would always be at hand if anything was going on outside. It had worked so far and he had intercepted enough wolves who tried to get into Anathema. This morning was no different to any other- he had slept perhaps two hours and felt like he had too much energy to contain himself. He had risen before the sun and performed a customary training session in the woods. He had taken his bow today and worked his body hard till he was panting. He used three training arrows over a two hour traning session and in the end they were blunt where they had hit the tree trunks. He wanted to drop his bow and arrows home before making his way around to Halifax to see if he could find a dagger there. However, an odd noise came to him as he made his way back home. A coyote. Blue eyes locked onto the small figure and he allowed a small growl escape him as he approached. "You are dangerously close to Anathema's border, stranger." Came his low voice as he slung the bow over his back. The bowstring slashed across his barrel chest from his two-legged position and he was wearing only a pair of cut-off jeans. He exuded an aura of strength that made him sole protector of Anathema at this point. word count;; 446 "speech" - Vheissu - 01-04-2011 [html]

Blue eyes flashed back to the incident a few weeks ago with the coyote who had come wandering into their lands. Teddy could still remember the hot blood from his muzzle dripping down his throat- it had angered him and fed his bloodlust at the same time. Still, what if this was another of those Inferni spies? Hostile glare came as Teddy padded forward until he crossed the invisible boundary that marked their territory. Though not visual, it was like stepping into a bubble of safety. There were many pups in Anathema now which Teddy rarely thought about. But blue eyes had taken in the orangey coat of the man and his memory had thrown the image of the dead coyote at him. He looked pretty similar to that spy but there was differences that made the warrior think of a crossbreed. Black ears perked forward as the man spoke. It appeared nobody had respect anymore since the 'I know' that came forth was curt and a little sarcastic to the mans ears. Ears flattened against his head for a moment and he flashed his fangs to show his displeasure at the tone. Still, there might be a potential member here and Teddy knew that Naniko would be pissed if he was rude to someone interested in joining. So he forced his ears to rise and he sheathed his fangs. Slipping the bow from around his shoulders he placed it on the floor along with the orante quiver on his back. He'd made the quiver months ago on his travels and it had served him well since. However, he was not going to be distracted by his handiwork. Blue eyes glanced back at the man as he spoke once more. "I will answer to the best of my ability. But if you turn out to be a spy, I swear I will tear you asunder." Came his warning, or threat. Though he hadn't thought a lot on the dead coyote of a few days ago, he didnt particularly fancy making Anathema's reputation even worse by killing another. But if this man turned out to be a spy, there was no saying what Teddy would do. Though a calm visage had settled over the man his blue eyes remained expertly blank of emotion, as he had always been taught to do. word count;; 407 "speech" - Vheissu - 01-12-2011 [html]

He was aggressive and hostile to almost everyone he knew let alone those he did not. And since Anathema had recently been infiltrated by Inferni spies, it had made the man especially wary of those who neared the borders. And given the fact that the man looked a lot like the corpse Naniko had carried back to their borders, Teddy was even less likely to want to do him a favour. But if Naniko had taught him one thing in his short time here it was that he must never jump to easy conclusions. Having placed himself between the cave entrances and the stranger Teddy felt in control enough to converse with the man, even if was just to tell him to get the hell away from here if he had nothing to say. He denied being a spy but made the fatal mistake of looking the warrior in the eye. He was obviously a complete idiot and had no idea about etiquette. Blue eyes burned as Teddy allowed a warning snarl to rip from his chest. It was very easy to understand that you never look a wolf full on in the face. It was rude and obnoxious and altogether challenging for the reciever of the stare. If anybody had the right to look into the others eyes specifically it was Teddy and he had avoided it so far so the man would not be offended by the warriors blank stare. He had better look away soon else the man would be sure to teach him some manners himself. He continued to speak and Teddy was half tempted to dismiss his words as stupid. He had stared at him and that had put the black and white male into a very bad mood. Still he tried taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly before looking back at the male. He had given a short description of his missin friend and Theodore was very tempted to tell him that he and Naniko had killed him the other day but though against it. He was not an intenionally cruel person... most of the time. Blue gaze became neutral and uninterested once more and a small shake of his head was given as his first answer. "I'm afraid I cannot help you, Stranger. The last coyote I saw in these parts was a half-wit and decided to come into our lands uninvited. He met a very... bloody end. However, there is a clan of coyote's not far from here... Im sure you could pick from those lot. Why have you lost him?" The warrior querried with a slight tilt of his head. He had made himself a promise that he would try and be more sociable and this was his attempt at continuing the conversation. A futile attempt to be fair, but an attempt none the less. word count;; 502 "speech" - Vheissu - 01-19-2011 [html]

His gave had been averted like it should have been in the first place, but this time he deliberately looked down at the ground whilst scuffing his foot along the snowy ground. Theodore wondered if he had any nervous habits that he didnt know about. He knew that when he was younger he had been able to stand perfectly still and straight in front of his father for hours- he preferred his hamstrings in tact as opposed to the brief moment of respite complaining would have gotten him. He didn't tend to whine or moan about anything and he didnt think that he had a habit that expressed anything other than blatant lack of interest in the person he was speaking to. An ear flickered once in some sort of response to his frustrated twitching. That same ear pushed forward as the man explained about his friend. Well, he didnt explain one bit what was happening, spoke in riddles to deliberatley put Teddy out of whatever loop the man was in. Interesting. But the way the strange man was speaking, it didnt appear that the man he sought was a friend at all. The words themselves implied something entirely different, even if his tone didnt give him away. Teddy didnt know if the man knew his voice had dropped an octave or two when mentioning this unnamed fellow but Teddy allowed a brief relax in the unfriendly knotts in his face. "I sense some animosity between the two of you? Are you looking for blood?" Teddy stated briefly, bluntness the only easy way to say what he wanted to. It was obvious the man hunted another and he was searching for him here. He hadn't seen a coyote in these lands since that little pest they'd dealt with, so Teddy was little help to him. But then again, Teddy was a sucker for a fight. Perhaps when the coydog found his quarry, Teddy might help in some way... hopefully a way that involved his teeth in anothers flesh. word count;; 355 "speech" |
