- Liev Morozov - 03-20-2011 Backdating this to a week later? ...Say, to March 13th v__v "This seems to be a good spot..." He mumbled to himself, hands on his hips, and eyes on the landscape. Not too far from the main entrance from the caves, came a narrow dry creek bed, leading to a a circular opening on the rocky sides of the mountains. It was a rather big clearing, with some boulders here and there, probably just recently rolled down the peaks thanks to the snowstorm. The grass was short and few thanks to the snow, but green nonetheless. It surely was the perfect grazing fields for Anathema's new lifestock. All it needed was a few changes here and there. And that's what he was there for! Liliana had taught him the basics of making fences, and just these days, the Russian had been fecthing and cutting down trees that had fell down, again thanks to the bad weather. Before it could get too wet and begin to rot, he took them all in and rested them on a single corner on the common chamber, working on them just outside in order to maintain the moderate silence within the cave system. Now,, all those planks had to be used. And so they would. The grayish male took off a small piece of paper, bone pen and ink bottle, and quickly started to sketch down the fences areas and some of the structures he'd have to build up. A small water pen here, a station to place equipment, gears and such, and a big shelter here. All in all, it looked good enough so far. ... Finally, he had brought back some of the planks to the selected area. With some sticks and stones he found around, the sheperd marked down the path the fences would follow. With some kicks on the snow, he uncovered the moist rocky ground beneath the thin snow sheet, preparing to start up things. With an improvised hammer/shovel, he started to dig up round holes and pressing their borders to thick up the dirt, steadying the rather long poles within them, and hammering them down until they were relatively firm. Then, he would surround their exposed base with more dirt, pressing it close to the wood unti it was safe enough. Then, to the next one. It was a tiring, almost boring activity. But it had to be done, sooner or later. And it sure better be as soon as possible. Half of the main square was done when he started to breath through his mouth, the very tip of his tongue starting to slick out of his open jaw. Who would have thought this would be that hard? He straightened his back, the stiffening joints cracking back to place. A heavy sigh escaped the male's lips, and he brushed the forehead with the back of his hand and wrist. Well, at least it wasn't too sunny; otherwise, he'd surely be much more tired. Heat always made the Russian unconfortable, and in such a situation, the cleudy sky was more than welcome. All he could wish for was a helping hand... - Theodore Stone - 03-21-2011
yaaay! He'd been meaning to hunt down the Russian shepherd since the snowstorm well over a month ago. The livestock they had all worked together to collect was beginning to get restless and smelly in the indoor stables set off from the main entrance way. They had had to erect quick fences in the stone cave to keep all the breeds separate- the seven horses collected between Theodore and Liev alone were getting on a little better. Still, spring was rearing its flower infested head on the lands, melting the snow and sending the meltwaters crashing around all across the land. It wouldnt be long before summer came and then it would be prime breeding time for them to expand on their current livestock. Of course, the young Rakeeb was no shepherd but his mind worked in similar way to the Russian and he constantly worried about the horses and sheep and goats that had come in out of the cold and into their gaping stone den. He'd seen the grey man working on planks and posts in the corner of the common room and he was curious as to when he was going to make the outside pasture that would be ideal for the animal within the next few weeks. .theo-d21 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .theo-d21 p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .theo-d21 b {color:#1A2724; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .theo-d21 {background-color:#95C2B8; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010dec/theodore2.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #000000; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#486861; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:450px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 240px 0px; } .theo-d21-border {width:454px; border:1px solid #FFFFFF; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Liev Morozov - 03-21-2011 The mountains did their job in protecting the sounds from within the clearing to the outside, though they did the same the other way around. When Theodore spoke from the entrance, however, the noise echoed just the enough to startled the gray man. Ears, eyes and face shifted quickly to see the new Rakeeb take one of the wood planks and walk towards the Anzu, placing the wood inside the hole Liev had just dug and waited for the shepherd to finish the job. With a sigh and a tiny smile, the older male got up and began to hammer down the plank. "Good morning, Theodore. The weather seems to be starting to lighten up, eh?" The Russian spoke, looking at the sky a bit absent-mindedly. Once the job was done, he got up, slapping his hands together to clear out a bit of the dirt that clinged to his palms and fur around it. "And as for the area, I was thinking on making separate grounds for the sheep, the horses and the others animals, plus a stable to keep them warm if a sudden storm hits, some shelters here and there for them to rest under a nice shade on the heat, as well as some water holes and a shack for some of the equipment. The male spoke while getting off his small sketch for a blueprint of the area, gesturing the drawings to the places they should stay. "And that should be pretty much it..." The older man finished, cleaning his hands a bit more before returning to fetch a new plank. "I see you are willing to help, and it sure is appreciated. Would you please bring back some other planks? It would save us the trip." The other spoke as it returned and laid down his own wood piece, kneeling down to scavenge down the soil and make a new hole. - Theodore Stone - 04-01-2011
<33 Liev hammered the wooden stake home and Teddy held it steady to make sure it went in straight instead of leaning to the side. Perhaps a little luckily the snow had been melted only a little while and while the top layer was softer, the underlayer of dirt and mud was still hard enough to hammer in to and hold the wooden stake firm. Once Liev removed the hammer he'd used, Teddy tested the stake before giving it a firm nod. Liev spoke then and Teddy couldnt help but give him a small smile. Smiles were very new to the black warrior and they felt a little awkward and wooden on his lips. But at least he tried and made the effort. He nodded towards Liev before speaking once more. .theo-d21 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .theo-d21 p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .theo-d21 b {color:#1A2724; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .theo-d21 {background-color:#95C2B8; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010dec/theodore2.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #000000; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#486861; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:450px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 240px 0px; } .theo-d21-border {width:454px; border:1px solid #FFFFFF; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Liev Morozov - 04-22-2011 So sorry for the wait! Art block is so hard to break through sometimes D8 Theodore seemed quite chatty today. Not that it would be bugging Liev, but on the contrary! It was good to know that the black warrior wasn't always that cold clam he seemed to be on their first meetings. He had feelings, and feelings were good. And it was good to know that he also anatomically fit for smiles. As sarcastic as it may sound all of this, it was what Liev began to cogitate on his first impressions of Theodore. Sometimes, the Russian felt utterly happy to be wrong from times to times. The black male praised him for his future plans for the site, and he smiled back, glad for the awknowledgement of his work. He bagen to scavenge down the dirt for the next plank while the darker male went to fetch said wood. He was done with the digging when the other returned. "So, what have you been up to, Theodore? It's been a while we talked like this" He spoke, steadying the pole down the hole while the other supported it straight. Of course he meant the talk they were having right now, since all the other meetings they had had been so brief and vague. It was good to be able to truly talk with the man. - Theodore Stone - 05-15-2011
<33 The manual labor was good for both of the men and Teddy flourished in getting to train his muscles as well as benefit his pack. As he retrieved the stake, Liev dug another hole for it and by the time the black male returned the Russian had made short work of the ground. Dropping it in hard enough to make a serious dent, Teddy began to hammer it in with the grey mans help. His friend, he supposed, spoke as well then, asking him in a sly little voice what he'd been up to since they last spoke. Casting his mind back, the last time he and Liev had properly spoken was when Teddy almost drowned. A foolish mistake in reality. A chuckle escaped him as he glanced up towards his friend. .theo-d21 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .theo-d21 p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .theo-d21 b {color:#1A2724; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .theo-d21 {background-color:#95C2B8; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010dec/theodore2.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #000000; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#486861; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:450px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 240px 0px; } .theo-d21-border {width:454px; border:1px solid #FFFFFF; margin:0 auto;} </style>
|
