Always the dreams—when she did dream—were the same. She lay in the darkness, an empty world with neither earth nor sky. She could never tell what it was upon which she lay. But a sound would rouse her. The sound was strange, like claws grating against stone. She did not know why, but the sound caused dread to leak from her heart, and an irrational fear would follow. Why was she afraid? Always she would rise, her eyes still closed—tightly against the ever approaching sound. Suddenly, the sound stopped, and the silence was more frightening now—a silence that was not like the silence of the world but that was like… she did not know what it was like. She could not say. But curiosity made her wonder, and slowly her eyes would open. A strange figure—a human perhaps? Would stand beside her, long hair covering the face. But the eyes—somehow she could see them. In the irrational logic of the dream world, she could somehow see them. They were wide with fear, and not fear felt by the thing but fear that seemed to emanate from it. Realizing that truth, she would awake abruptly, her body jolting as if startled. With a sigh the taekwondo warrior pushed herself up. She wondered why she was afraid—such things did not frighten her in the wakeful hours. Very little did. The black fae shrugged it off. It was nothing. Nothing that she should worry about. Having rested, the white-eyed wolf continued her practice, the sinew within her body performing with grace and balance, a martial beauty. Each technique held the power and intensity that each would require in true combat. Briefly, she allowed her mind to contemplate her dream. Perhaps she had been afraid because the creature was a being that could not be defeated by means of combat. But she could never really know she decided. It was just a dream. .yi-pagoda b {font-weight:bold; color:#1e0000; letter-spacing:1px; } .yi-pagoda .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:center; color:#http://i.imgur.com/Ef6Yw.png;} .yi-pagoda p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .yi-pagoda {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#890000; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/Ef6Yw.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 250px 0px 1px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#b22e2e; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Alaki - 06-16-2011
WC:551+ Daylight had begun to fade into darkness as the sun fell and the moon rose once more; the passing of another meaningless, unproductive day. A sigh passed gently through his lips and he paced through the corroders of the Howling Caverns, moving forward until he reached the tunnels end and then turning back to walk it’s length once more. Would boredom be the death of me? With the sudden urge to do something, the young Dasa found himself compelled to leave the echoing caves he called his home and wonder aimlessly around the surrounding territories; a patrol of sorts. Unlike many he had encountered, when darkness came he felt him most comfortable; his dark, grey-toned pelt hide him well and after spending so much time underground he had come to love moving around where there was little light and so he anxiously awaited for the moment when the sun fell. As he moved, he wore the darkness like a second coat; sticking close to the parts of the forest where there was less light and moving silently forward. Although he knew that no matter how hard he now tried to stay out of notice, he would be noticed; for upon his shoulder sat a white beacon, his albino crow. Despite his constant death threats towards the bird and complaint regarding how useless he was, the Dasa would not leave the bird behind; for Beyaz was interesting company, when he wasn’t making a pest of himself. Maybe his tolerance of the bird was due to his ever growing domestication; the longer he spent around Matteo, the less he lost his temper and the less trouble he found himself getting into. It had been so long since he’d though with someone equal in skill and a part of his mind longed to taste blood, to push his muscles to their limits and to try out his new found sword skills; there was only so much one could do in training and he needed to swing at a living being with all his strength, to drench his blade in their blood. The more his mind became consumed with the need to fight, the more he began to give into the bloodlust. A dark hand wrapped its way around his Katana’s handle, griping it until his had comfortably ached. Jaw tensing, he let out a low breath and clamed himself down, knowing he’d be nothing more than a weak fool to give into a irrational need. Still, that small part of his mind called for blood… A cool breeze caressed his tall form, carrying the scent of a stranger. Coming to a stop, he lifted his head and took in the scent again; and for sure there was a stranger near his location, a complete stranger out in the darkness, all alone… His hand itched to draw his blade but he kept himself composed, for although he was many things, he did not kill randomly for pleasure. Yet, there was no harm in simply locating the stranger…. Following the scent and guessing his way, it was not long that he located a darker one that himself; the female’s form swallowed by darkness more so than his. Cocking his head to the side, he half smiled, half smirked in his way of welcome. “Well hello there”. .BCROW-01 .ooc {font-size:10px; font-style:italic;} .BCROW-01 p {padding:0px 15px 5px 15px; margin:0px; text-indent:25px;} .BCROW-01 b {font-family:verdana; color:#2a2838; text-shadow:#2a2838 0px 0px 2px; margin:5px; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px;} .BCROW-01 {background-color:#000000; font-family: verdana, serif; font-size:12px; color:#4e4e4e; line-height:16px; width:440px; text-align:justify; background-image:url(http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/7947/alaki1.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:354px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #FFFFFF; border-radius:8px; } .BCROW-01-border {width:442px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:8px;}</style> - Yi TaeKyung - 06-27-2011
WC: 524
A disturbance tickled the intensity of her concentration, and, stretched out in a side kick, she paused. Well trained muscles held the pose, correctly and steadily, against the opposing gravitational pull. Black auricles swiveled catching a sound. Black nose twitched, grasping a scent. Already the intruder was close. Gracefully, the obsidian foreigner chambered and returned to a relaxed standing position as the intruder behind her spoke. It was a greeting. Lunar orbs, seeing exceptionally well in the dark, saw the male’s form as she turned to glance sidelong. Her pose was nonchalant, as if his sudden presence did not trouble her. Her empty features held only a cold regard, neither amiable nor hostile. And she regarded him briefly. Perhaps he had caught her at the wrong time, so immersed in her practice as she was. But then—perhaps something interesting would happen. Breathing in deeply, the Korean hybrid analyzed his scent. The young woman recognized the brand of a pack, although she had met no other from this particular territory. There were many pack wolves. She was a loner still, unable yet to accept a pack. In a way, that made her vulnerable. A pack was a family that protected one another. Yet, she had not yet met an opponent here that was insurmountable. No real battles had been fought, either. .ykt-simplestuff {margin:0px auto;width:425px;border:1px solid white;-moz-border-radius:10px;-webkit-border-radius:10px;border-radius:10px;background-color:#000000;font-family:Verdana;font-size:9px;color:#f1f1f1;padding:5px;text-align:justify;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;} .ykt-simplestuff b {color:#777777;} .ykt-simplestuff p {text-indent:25px;} </style>
- Alaki - 07-21-2011
WC: 341 Although he had been the one to follow the scent and seek her out, he found himself unsure as to what to do next; a small part of him whispered that socializing whilst having the urge to fight and the taste of blood upon his mind was a foolish idea. But before he could excuse himself and continue on his way, he found himself held in place by the female’s unique accent. Intrigued, he allowed himself to study the female as if he saw her in a new light after hearing her voice. Questions filled his mind; who was she and with what accent did she speak with. The black female wore the darkness as well as he did and so the grey toned male found himself having to focus to keep the woman clearly in sight. Although her accent was thick, he managed to figure out what was said and considered his response for a moment. “Idle wondering brought me here, but now I must be honest and say I’m intrigued. With what accent do you speak with if you don’t mind me asking?” not one to normally ask such personal questions of strangers, the sentence was something new to him. Respecting ones and another’s personal life and knowledge was something he held close to his heart, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him. During his time within these lands, he had encounter those that speak with accents and different languages and found them fascinating; he himself spoke Japanese if and when it suited him, although he wasn’t entirely fluent and no doubt messed half his sentences up, speaking the language was something he was proud of. But it wasn’t only the accent that had held him to his place; something about the female shouted ‘danger’ and he couldn’t help but be drawn to that. Although he wasn’t of a suitable mindset at the moment, he certainly would like to fight the female at some point in the future, to see if his hunch about her was correct. .keygun .ooc {font-style:italic; font-size:11px; } .keygun p {padding:5px 15px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .keygun b {color:#ddf3f1; letter-spacing:0px; font-family:georgia, times, serif; font-size:14px; } .keygun {background-color:#a4bcc0; background-image:url(http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8931/gunfq.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #000000; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#263339; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:480px; text-align:justify; padding:270px 0px 10px 0px; margin:0px auto; } </style>
- Yi TaeKyung - 07-29-2011
WC: 502
When the male finally responded, his words went by relatively quickly. The black ears strained to catch every word, and yet could not. Many words she did not recognize—‘intrigue’, ‘honest’. Some words, because they went by so quickly, were simply lost. Perhaps, had the foreign fae been of a better mood, she would have understood more easily. The last part that the stranger spoke, however, was a bit easier for the Korean woman to understand. When she responded, her tone was even, though neither amiable nor hostile. The black plume moved behind her thoughtfully. Having been unable to understand his explanation, the Jindo hybrid wondered still why the male was in her presence. She herself, if she did not fight—and currently being a loner she was hesitant to start trouble with the packs that she may one day join—needed to calm her darkened mind. A cool bath may have been appropriate, but she needed first to find such a place. Yet, as long as the male was in her company, she would remain in her current location. The black female may herself have been intrigued by the stranger’s sudden appearance. The Korean chose to be patient, willing herself to be still. Perhaps this chance to socialize would calm her mind enough to function at her best. .ykt-simplestuff {margin:0px auto;width:425px;border:1px solid white;-moz-border-radius:10px;-webkit-border-radius:10px;border-radius:10px;background-color:#000000;font-family:Verdana;font-size:9px;color:#f1f1f1;padding:5px;text-align:justify;padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;} .ykt-simplestuff b {color:#777777;} .ykt-simplestuff p {text-indent:25px;} </style>
|
