- Ember Phoenix - 05-23-2008 [html] She was very nervous about being along on the hunt with the others, but was trying to cope with it as best as she could. She breathed in her nose and out her mouth, panting a little as she ran alongside her mother. Iskata had recently joined Labrynth Glen, something that she was really happy about. Ember was growing, but there were a lot of things that she needed a mother for, still. Extra hunting experience would help. She was almost an opposite of the alabastor wolf that padded beside her, appearance-wise, but that didn't matter to her. She knew who her mother was and didn't need to be assured of it. Ember sat down quietly, looking at the herd of deer. It'd be hard to get one of them to separate from the rest, wouldn't it? She looked to Iskata, awaiting some sort of an instruction or sign. - Iskata Sadira - 05-29-2008 Iskata smiled as her own shadow paced along beside her, the middle aged daughter was keeping up fantastically as they moved thorugh the forest stalking their prey. She turned for a moment to gaze at her daughter as she raced through the trees towards the field where the deer stood. Iskata had recently spoken to her daughter about hunting and the different ways to stalk their prey, she regretted having only spoken of the smaller prey and not of the larger ones that were normally taken down in pack hunts. Nodding at her daughter as the slowed towards the meadow she paused in the shadows and waited for the others to join them. She turned towards Ember and smiled wide, quietly her words floated on the air, "We don't try for the strongest, single out the lame or elderly ones.. they are always slower than the rest. Sometimes the young ones fall behind too.. but not as often.."She smiled and titled her head towards the deer, moving forward slowly into the open. - Ember Phoenix - 06-04-2008 [html]
- Iskata Sadira - 06-10-2008 Iskata smiled down at her daughter as she watched the deer before them. She could see the other packmembers moving though the trees and she nodded down at her daughter before whispering. "You move left, stay in the shadows.. try and get around the herd.. I'll drive them towards you.. " her eyes scanned the herd as she made to picking the perfect prey. Nodding to herself she nudged her daughter and tilted her head to the side towards the lone male haning on the outskirts of the herd. "Looks like he may have been injured in a rutting match.." the male seemed to have a hard time putting a lot of weight on his foreleg and Iskata smiled to herself as she watched him, he would be the one. Eyes twinkling as she gazed down at Ember she smiled and licked her lips. "I'll lead him into you, we'll lay a trap for him.." they had got lucky this time, a young buck was the target, injured by another in the rutting matches over the harlem of females before them. She hoped this would be a bit of a fight, but still easy enough for Ember to learn a few things. "Now!" she hissed at Ember as she began to move away from her daughter, stalking towards the herd slow and steady. - Ember Phoenix - 06-12-2008 [html]
- Iskata Sadira - 06-13-2008 As soon as her daughter had made it farther ahead into the shadows Iskata leapt out of the brush and stalked towards the herd. Everytime one would lift their head up from their grazing she would stop, as still as a mouse, waiting for them to assume all was well in their world once more before moving on. She came closer and closer to them until she was mere yards away. Suddenly with one powerful bunch from her haunches she flew into action and dashed snarling at the heels of the herd. Thrown into action the deer fled right towards the waiting grasp of her young daughter. Snapping at the heels of the weak and elder deer she moved gracefully across the meadow, following the movement of the deer as she slowly gained on the weak and injured buck. One powerful launch and she fould herself digging into the flesh of his back, trying to grasp her jaws deep into his neck. The young deer still had some spirit and tried to buck the silver and gold wolfess off of his back. She had tried to plung her fangs into his neck at the same time and instead of a dead match target her teeth sunk into his shoulder as she tried to hold fast to the male as she caught the air between them as suddenly she was flying off his back and through the air. Rolling as she landed the wolfess let out a grunt as she sat there winded for a moment before shaking the dirt from her pelt and tested her legs as she sprinted after the herd, watching with excited eyes as the wounded male began to limp worse than before, wounded from the front and back now she knew they'd have him soon enough. |
