- Dawali Amara - 10-05-2011

Free post order for sake of speed?

Dawali had been uncertain for some time. It wasn't his place to doubt authority, and it wasn't his place to take matters into his own hands. Ironically, he rarely ever had hands. His time as Itawamba was still going, and he feared he might never shake the role. The hopelessness in that thought, paired with the blunt injustice he faced as he regularly met with the prisoners to tend to them, was just too much in the end. Finally, he had listened to Ralla, and this time as he went to tend to them, it was different. He was facing a bad choice, however. With a Guardian outside the door, Dawali was most certainly going to get caught. Additionally, he could only free one of them. While there were other prisoners, there was little doubt in his mind which prisoner was the most important to Maska - and the whole dynamic. Anu needed to get back to her pack, and few had the means to make sure she did.

He entered the hut as always, shifted by leave of Maska. The Guardian nodded, and Dawali bwed his head in respect as he entered. By now, he had had so many visits that the Guardians did not doubt his intentions, but the walls of the building leaked sound, and talk could seep through the cracks. He shifted his glance at the newest prisoner - a male - as he strode directly to Anu, reaching for the bonds that tied her. "Anu. You need to go home." His voice was a whisper as his fingers shook, trying to get the knots. Dawali had never done such a thing - he truly did deserve his rank. Hopefully, Anu could read the urgency in his voice, and would not doubt him. Had he earned her trust by now?

- Ralla - 10-05-2011

Jail-break! >Big Grin (Nootau: Not visible)

In the brush, far away and downwind, Ralla hid as per Dawali's instructions. In the dead of night she waited for her cue to get to work, knowing that it was taking a lot of Dawali's will to go against the current authority. Despite her trust in him, he still believed that he had deserved all he had gotten. It was a bit painful, but Ralla could not change the man's perceptions, however much she might try, and would have to be--and was--satisfied that he was doing what he was then.

The parcel of food in her bag smelled inviting--fresh bread from the stores, filled with nuts--but she dared not partake of it for several reasons, all of which culminated to the plan. She watched as Dawali headed to the hut, her head kept low as she observed with emerald green eyes, and she waited a minute or so. The time seemed to drag on forever before she stood and began a casual walk towards the guard--a male named Armis Fulton. The man was intimidating at the best of times, and Ralla always avoided him--or any Guardian, for that matter--like the plague. But she was counting on several things in this endeavor--the lack of food, his hunger, and his trust to take things from strangers. He immediately caught site of the white mother as she approached, and since this would be her first time approaching the hut so easily, she could see his guard instantly go up. He demanded why she was there, but she only held out the parcel of food to him, saying that she was bringing him some dinner. He eyed the parcel and Ralla warily for a moment, sweat tingling at the back of her neck should he refuse; escape for Dawali and Anu would be impossible if Armis was still awake, and she didn't want to have to make a ruckus. Luckily, his hunger seemed to win out as he took the parcel and opened it. The strong scent of the nuts masked the earthy scent of the sleeping drought, and it was with much relief and joy that she saw him take a bite of the bread. The effects were by no means immediate, but the more he ate, the more his eyes drooped until he was practically sagging on the side of the hut. Finally the drug took complete hold on him until he had no idea what had just happened other than he had perhaps taken a sudden tired spell.

Peaking her head around the corner, Ralla saw Dawali working to free Anu, but she also saw the other prisoners, making her ears go back. Keeping someone in such conditions was just terrible, but there was only so much they could do undetected. As it was, Armis would certainly raise suspicions the next day that a prisoner had escaped while he was asleep, but Ralla had an alibi all planned out--she had indeed brought the Guardian food, but she was certain that she could get someone to vouch that she was elsewhere directly after, as if her visit had been more than the time it was actually taking. And if Maska tried convicting her, he would have no basis whatsoever--she had watched that she had stayed under his radar for quite a while now to ensure anonymity. "The coast's clear," she said to Dawali before she began her own watch to ensure that no one was coming. They were going to do this, even if it killed them--literally.

- Anu - 10-06-2011

[html]
The Dreaming woman looked at the wall, her thoughts dulled by the constant fatigue and tire that never left her now. A creaking sound, the paw steps of another, they all made her wish for the end. The woman was thin before this episode, but now the bones could be seen through her pelt. Her head turned, and with a sense of urgency a single creatures came at her. He touched the ropes, saying nothing until his task was finished and she was free. Anu looked up at them, one was the one who had tended her wounds in the beginning. The other who played look-out was unknown. Anu did not speak, nor attack them as she had the shaking boy that had come to "help" her.

The woman spoke, and Anu stood frigid at the idea of escaping. But it was time, time for the end to be seen and for her to be freed. Her body relaxed, and she walked slowly and silently to follow the two wolves. A mixture of shock and confusion swelled within her chest and she could only find a small glimmer of hope that this was her final rescue. Or else she was simply walking to her death.

- Dawali Amara - 10-06-2011

Randomly decided there should be horses - good plan?

She did recognise him, but he cast his eyes down, not looking. Finally, the ropes were undone, and his hands somehow managed to shake more. He stood a moment, nervous, clutching his hands together for what seemed like an eternity. God, the nervousness. Gvihita was nowhere to be seen - he hadn't seen her anywhere lately. She'd abandoned him, it seemed. He knew he was not worthy anyway. The doubts welled up in him - he was so wrong in doing this! But was he? Finally, Ralla entered the cabin to interrupt his thoughts, and she glanced around before stating that the coast was clear. Dawali felt bad for the other prisoners that he could not release them too, and for Anu - she looked dreadful. Hopefully, she was not so weak that she could not make it out.

While the cabin was a ways off from the Village, Anu would have to either go round the cluster of huts or through it, to get home. Round it was the better choice, but she could easily be seen by the many patrols she'd have to pass. He stepped gingerly over the sleeping Armis and tip-toed into the bushes near the cabin, twitching as if each branch breaking was his own spine. Finally, he lifted his hand and sought Anu's and Ralla's, to point with them to the horses that stood hidden there. He had not decided if he was coming, too, not yet. "You have to go around. They know the way, and they're well rested." he said quietly, as if Armis could wake at the slightest of disturbances. He looked at Ralla for a moment, curious as to whether or not she would go too. After all, Armis had seen her give him that food. She risked death, as did he, but she risked exposure more than he.

Derp~

Time seemed to pass so slowly, as if the few moments it was actually taking ticked on for ages. Finally Dawali and Anu were out of the hut, and thankfully Armis was still unconscious, as Luna had promised. The woman's blood pounded in her veins from adrenaline, and she almost knew that the thoughts going through her brain coincided with Dawali's, at least to a point. The both of them were risking high charges, but the white mother was confident in her own alibi. As for Dawali...well, it was in her character to worry more for someone else rather than herself.

At the motion to the horses, Ralla shook her head at her chief--that which she still believed him, even after his demotion and self-disgrace--and took a step back, making way for Anu to continue. She could not leave Ayasha alone in the turmoil, and could not abandon her tribe--not then. What kind of message would that send everyone? That she, who had preached to them about family and surviving the chaos, was a coward? She would have none of it. And, while it was said that it was often wise to retreat to see another day, Ralla could not retreat in this instance--the balance was all too fragile. No, she would stick with her plan, and if she became a prisoner, too, then so it would be. "Ayv yelinigesvna anagisdi--nasginigesvna naquu," she intoned to Dawali. "I've done my duty, and will continue it here. But Dawali...perhaps you should go. You'll be free out of this place, and we can stop all of this with you more disposed." Yes, that could work. It would be harder to communicate with their once-leader, but at least he would be free and more able to lead. Maybe. Ralla was such a fantasist, sometimes it took reality a little longer to hit that some things...just couldn't be as they once were. Ralla then turned her attention to Anu, ears back in sympathy to her harsh treatment. "Please do not bear AniWaya ill for what Maska has done. I cannot blame you if you do, and I know that we don't deserve forgiveness for what we've let occur, but know that those who were here before the Guardians never wanted any of this to happen..." It was a plea for understanding, and Ralla did not expect it to be answered or received well; she had only to try.

- Anu - 10-10-2011

[html]pp, let me know if it should be changed! <3
There was a cloud of haze that the woman seemed to walk through as she followed. Like a dream where the details weren't as vivid as they were in waking hours. Anu could hardly believe it was happening. The tension was thick, the fear radiating from the other two wolves. Yet Anu stayed fairly calm. Her energy had been taken from her, a will that may have made her rush to freedom was broken. She looked at the horses, they were her ride home and yet she had never ridden before. The female slowly changed to another form, the pain overwhelming and making her bare and clench her teeth. Yet she made no sound, and the hurt cleared her mind somewhat. She looked at the saviors, taking in the words of the white wolfess. They were hard to hear at first, for her limbs ached and her wounds were now freshly torn and she had let hate linger in her heart for weeks. But she nodded, the sting of pain breaking the haze.

With trembling legs she stood, looking from one AniWayan to the next. She could see the hesitation in the red male's face and the other spoke of her powerless position. Anu would have been in their paws if the situation was turned. To leave with her was a second infraction on top of giving her the means to escape. I can go alone. She said, a hand on the back of the nearest horse. Please, just help me up. The slight female was lifted up onto of the horse and she clung to it's neck. She felt the breathing, living creature beneath her and could not help but let the relief flood her system. For the first time in weeks she felt something other then hard dirt against her matted fur, Anu prayed for grass and she wished for the Sun...

Thank you. She spoke to the pair, before the horse was urged forward and together they rode through dark and towards the borders. He had said the horse knew the way, and she believed it would take her home.

- Dawali Amara - 11-16-2011

Last post from me, and so late. Will archive in a few days unless someone posts their last posts.

Dawali shook his head at Ralla's suggestion - it was ludicrous. He could never leave. His bond to this place was deeper than that. Of all his children, this tribe was his dearest, even though he did not like to admit it. He could only stay and serve Maska, but the unfairness in the situation and the Dreamers' need to see that AniWaya could still have some members left that might be of a different caliber brought him here. Here, and not further. He said nothing to her, but looked at Anu as she seemed to waver in front of him. So weak, but determined - she would make it, or he was doomed. Was he not doomed already?

Ralla pleaded for understanding and Dawali stopped listening. It was painful to him, to understand the errors in his tribe. The flaws that were his making. He had been too weak, too lenient and too irresponsible. How could he not have trained more warriors? How could he have claimed that seat? Nonetheless, there were truths in Ralla's words that he did not like, even though he saw them. Silently, after Anu had stated that she would go alone, he pressed a package onto the horse's back, in front of her. "Eat this, and drink the potion. It will make you stronger, temporarily - and then you will sleep." It was all he could do to create a package of a little meat, two fishes and a leather flask with potion. If she was clever, she would know by now that he knew his trade. It would focus her energy before draining her completely - but she needed it now. He stepped back to watch her go, wondering which pieces of his broken tribe she was bringing back to Savina and Cambria, and all the Dreamers he had met once.
