- Frodo Silvertongue - 11-29-2011
p, terra, sorry for shortness. Serena reserve; forward dated to 1st December.
It was strange here. It made his skin crawl, watching the ominous trees just standing there, crooked, gnarled, and old, but upright somehow realistically in the sodden ground. The wolf let his teeth chatter slightly, but in the end he forced them to stop. Stop being such a baby. He growled to himself, his shivers subsiding and breath becoming more even. Frodo shook his head, and carried onwards, picking up each lean limb and placing it to and fro against the ground. In optime form, as he was constantly, and lavishing in the glory of finally being packed lightweight. He seemed to always have a grin on his face and his eyes were always lit up with laughter, but there was just a little echo of something in him today, that made him even more content. The mostly black, but auburn furred and gold faced youth drummed his fingers in the air for a moment or two, ceasing the built up energy, and then sped up into a smooth jog, that was both graceful and fierce. Frodo wasn’t even wearing a shirt today, or his beloved cloak. All he had on him was his fine red bow, a quiver full of arrows, and a sheath across his waist that homed a small, silver dagger. Mr Silvertongue felt quite naked, but was happy. He could move swiftly, and make no sound at all as he skid along smooth grass. He managed to knock away all thoughts of foolish fears, and focused on the reason he was here today; he was to hunt. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 11-29-2011
OOC Terra was frustrated. For the past while she'd been looking for something to eat. Several prey had been stirred up, but her skill was too poor to allow her to catch any. She hadn't even had the luck of coming across a decent corpse to feed from. Terra wasn't particular about what she ate. If anything she cared that it was preferably dead when she started eating it to prevent being injured. A few times Terra had started eating before it was properly dead, and had gotten a couple good scratches for her efforts. Since then she made sure it was dead, then dug in. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 11-30-2011
sorta pp'd a bit; I know you said she was silent but she must have made some sound :p Being a hunter, Frodo was accustomed to slight sounds and small movements. After all, his favourite catch were of small creatures that made little to no sound at all. It was a couple of minutes before the wolf realised he was being followed, but he did realise it all the same, however at first he had just thought it was someone passing by, someone that would be gone. He didn’t bother to look over his shoulder, and just carried on with the hunt, however was aware of an additional presence all the while. It was not long before Frodo spotted a clustered series of warrens up ahead. Silently, the man unhooked the fine bow from around one shoulder, and knocked an arrow through string and wood. Practiced hands stroked the smooth surface of his tool, and he drew up his weapon to face forwards. His head peeked out from the side of the bow, and he continued to move stealthily. For his luck, he didn’t have to move too far before he spotted a rabbit, foolishly out of its den. In a quick, still-silent movement, he was down on one knee, squinting through green eyes at the creature that stood roughly 25 meters away. And then he had released the feather-tipped arrow, and it whizzed through the air with a swoosh, colliding with the rabbits shoulder. It was mere strategy and practice that had allowed Frodo to make a kill so quickly. He trotted up to the fallen creature, and ended its pitiful twitching with a secondary blow to a heart from the silver dagger he carried with him. Frodo retrieved the arrow and dagger, cleaning them both on the wet grass and putting them both back in their places. And then he tied the rabbit by it’s ears, to the sheath round his waist. With one kill down, Frodo supposed he should make a couple more. Pleased with his work, he knocked another arrow in place and looked straight ahead. But there was a twitching feeling in his bones, a sixth sense if you must, and again he had the feeling of being followed. He couldn’t hear anything this time, but could still sense someone tracking him. Mr Silvertongue stood stock still, still holding his armed bow, and still facing away from Terra. And then he spoke, quite audibly at that. ‘Tis not wise to follow a hunter at motor, davy jones. he spoke, quite sternly, in the odd accent he bore. With that, he suddenly span around, his bow now pointing straight at Terra. Frodo was quite surprised to find it was a female following him, a youngish looking one at that. Perhaps she was just playing a game? He couldn’t be too sure. Story time Sunday! Well, match my sidney if it isn’t a safe-as-milk girl followin’ me.! he walked closer, at a roughly fast place, his bow still pointing at her, to keep her still. He didn’t want any sudden movements. When he was quite a bit closer, close enough to tell - or at least assume - she wasn’t trying to murder him or attack, he lowered his weapon and grinned sheepishly. Shoot, if it’s the tuff rabbity you’re after, you can have him, so to speak. Frodo reached into his dagger-strap (which served as a belt), and untied the rabbit, throwing it to the floor, at Terra’s feet. I’ve already filled my tum this morn, you get me, hood? <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 11-30-2011
OOC Powerplay fine. Said those trained could hear. I'm just messed in my writing Terra sighed as yet again she found herself face to face with an arrow. She was starting to really dislike those weapons. No matter how good she was Terra could hardly outrun everything, and dodging arrows at the range she kept meeting them was near impossible. Her ears pricked at his words. They were rather odd, hard to make sense of. He lowered the bow though, and tossed the rabbit he'd killed in her direction. Not caring how it made her look Terra tore in, devouring the rabbit as fast as she could. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 11-30-2011
n'aaw, not messed! Frodo watched the girl devour the rabbit savagely, she was obviously ravenous and his heart went out to the wolf. At this point, he felt bad to have pointed the arrow in her direction, and realised her intentions when following him had only been good. When she finished, he grinned, however the grin soon turned into a frown, and then a face of curiosity as the lady shifted before his eyes. Despite looking younger than Frodo, Terra stood eye to eye with him- to tell the truth Frodo wasn’t that tall at all, and to make his frame even worse he had a skinny build and narrow shoulders. The young man watched with amusement as she finally completed cracking into place, and he listened to her intently. Aint nothing to worry about. Twas a piece a ginger beer anyways. he shrugged half heartedly, grinning from cheek to cheek. If she really was a bad hunter, like she said she was, perhaps he could do something to help. Frodo was no teacher, but he was a good enough hunter by himself, so perhaps lending a hand or two to another would be easy. An idealistic, and thoughtful look swept across his features, and he was speaking again. Rodger that, miss. If you wantin, I can teach you a thing or two. I’m quick and slick, and well nifty, aint no teacher, but we can always try, so we can. How ‘bout it? <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 11-30-2011
OOC The stranger's next flurry of words was a confusing mess. He kept on using these words and phrases that meant nothing to her. From what she picked out though, Terra thought it was an offer to teach her how to hunt. It was a little embarrassing to take lessons from someone who appeared round the same age, but this was an opportunity she couldn't miss. Her tail wagged happily as she nodded her head. Being able to hunt on her own was something Terra really wanted. It was useless if she could only take down prey with a partner. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 11-30-2011
... He watched and waited for her reaction to his request, eager and hoping she would accept the invitation. Surely, it was her that would benefit from the teaching, yet in truth Frodo secretly wished for a student to show his ways when on the hunt. He let a gentle smile fall upon elated lips, and the handsome youth declared the mission successful. It was what she wished for, too. In his right mind, the brute was doing a good deed and hopefully karma would thank him for it. His fingers laced the hairs on the back of his neck, and then for a second or two he was silent before replying the lady that stood before him. No problemo, kudos for tradition. he was quite firm in believing she did not want to use weapons like he did; even with the innocent comment he could tell she had something against his primary way of hunting. But in fact, he used many different strategy's when taking down prey, which involved all three forms. Despite optime being his favourite form to hunt with, it was not always the most successful. He mused which form to teach her in, however his ultimate decision was, of course, Lupus. You're gonna have to shift right back, 'fraid. Lupus is best for a learner, so it is. with that, he took off his bow, quiver, and sheath, and lay them on the ground, using multiple leaves to cover them with. He then shifted, his limbs coiling and muscles straightening, until he appeared before the wolfess as a common wolf. In lupus form, Frodo looked older and more defined. The black pelted man gave a sharp, low whistle, locking his fierce green eyes on the lady. When you're ready, skipper. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 11-30-2011
OOC Terra wagged her tail happily. Learning in lupus form would be useful, since it was the one she used the most. Compliantly she changed back, taking a moment to shift. On the ground Terra shook her head, getting quickly oriented. Bowing down playfully Terra looked up at her teacher. He looked a lot more handsome in this form, though the exact reasoning for that was hard to place. Ready. Eager for the hunt Terra grinned, showing off her sharp teeth. They hadn't been worn down with age yet, leaving them with a cutting edge. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-03-2011
WOO! wc: 652 The male grinned as she complied, shifting right back for him obediently. It wasn't often Frodo was in charge, and wasn't often he got to tell another what to do. In fact, he couldn't remember one time where he'd been in a situation like the one he was in now. The auburn and black brute gave a brief tail wag, noting the girl's teeth were nice and healthy, nice and sharp. She could easily do some damage, she just needed the basic skill and practice to do so. Nobody could make a kill cleanly without being taught how to. Frodo's father had taught him all he needed to get along by himself; the titan anxiously wondered why Terra had not got teachings from her own parents. But needless to say, they would get straight to the action. Then lets skedaddle. the wolf flashed a toothy smile and then his expression fell serious for once, his ears perking up. As Terra had done, Frodo observed the prey in the area. Multiple sources; the rabbits, of course, a warthog or wild pig of some sort (which would have been a good choice for hunting had he not been giving a very first lesson to the girl), and mice. Quickly, he crossed the pig off the list. It's tusks were not to be under estimated. Mice were small, and weak, but sly and nifty. Mice actually took a great deal of practice to catch. Rabbits were probably their best bet, however common they were. Follow, squire. Frodo commanded, skulking along the corners of the area, pushing into some trees silently and sitting himself down into a crouch; from a place he could easily spy on the warren. A good hunter is always alert, my girl. Keep your ears, eyes, and nose fresh, you got me? he paused, licked his chops. Continued. It's survival of the fittest. Us wolves pick out the sick, injured, or weak. Like that munter over there, you follow? his eyes and head tilted to a rabbit with a limp. Tip: stalk as close as you can before makin' the strike. If they get into their hidey-holes, you're gone for. Now, I do declare a demonstration. Frodo gestured for the female to stay in her place, and then crept round. He knew there were three other rabbits out at the time, apart from the lame one. The wolf stalked silently from the behind, so he was facing the rabbit's backs, with their den behind him. The long grass concealed him well, and Frodo got ever-so-close before leaping suddenly from his low crouch and sprinting. The rabbits froze before reacting, as they always did. It was no contest. The wolf ran at a subtle pace, tracking the rabbit as it flee'd a couple of meters before Frodo had skidded low, catching the rabbit by the neck with a steel grip on his jaws. All the time, his run had been low-based, his head down and eyes, ears, and nose alert. Frodo was soon back in his place with the rabbit in his mouth. The other rabbits had fled home. Trick is, to get between their home and them. Thattaway, they can't escape, you get me? Mouse get's the cheese. he said once spitting the rabbit to the ground. The wolf leapt up and trotted forwards, way past the warren and climbing over a hill. He was familiar with the reserve, and knew about the secondary warren just over the green mound. Reaching the top of the hill, Frodo collapsed into a laying position, over looking the next set of rabbit-homes. Now, you try. I'll be givin' you feedback afterwards. Don't expect to get it right the first time. Go for the neck, and nuffink else. it was all a game of cat and mouse, and trial and error. He was just giving her the basics now; and later would come the complicated stuff. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-03-2011
OOC Ears twitching Terra focused on his words. It seemed the key to hunting was simply remaining alert, but Terra did that all the time. How else would she know if someone was sneaking up on her, or where to steal her food from? Terra considered that for a moment. Maybe hunting was like stealing, except instead of running away from the angry creature she'd stolen from Terra would be running down prey. She watched as her teacher crept through the grass, keeping hidden. The rabbits didn't even see him coming. Excited Terra sat up as he snatched the rabbit he'd picked and brought it over. His movements had been so fluid, the hunt ending in seconds. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-10-2011
wc: 430 It was both exciting and thrilling, watching what had now become his student take his advice and scurry around like an expert. That was just it- she did move like an expert. Terra was obviously alert, and fresh, and young. She didn't waste time and held intelligence in her eyes. However, Frodo could see she just lacked the basic confidence, tactics, and practice. Practice made perfect- if you went your life thinking you couldn't do something and then never did it, it would turn out to be true. At least he had nipped this thought in the bud for her, though. Maybe around his own age, she still had lots of time on her paws to be able to learn. Mr Silvertongue was a steady believer of the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". In fact, the titan believed in everything and anything, unless it was proven otherwise. He was a glass-half-full kind of guy. His intense pools watched with eagerness and a wagging tail accomponied him, the wolf watching Terra do what he had said; approach from the behind and then move in for the kill. But she'd hesitated, and the hunting was over just as soon as it had begun. When Terra came back to Frodo, looking beaten and melancholy, the aniwayan lad only grinned, not in sympathy or in pity, but in the firm belief she could do it. If she could see he believed in her, she'd take the next step forward and believe in herself. That was good. Not every mucker get's it first time round. Learn from your mistakes, cap'n. Every cloud 'assa silver linin' and all that. Frodo flashed her a lopsided, wolfish smile, and then straightened up, beckoning her to come back further into the trees. For a while he sat in silence, waiting for the rabbits to emerge from their hideouts again. Now, your problemo was that lil' hesitation back there. If you feel the critters are gonna bolt before you're ready to chase, DO NOT chase. Let them run and then come back 'gain. Only take the chase when you're ready, don't force yourself. And number one tippy; believe in yourself, girl! Wish upon a star and grab your chances, yeah?! Now lets take two! the wolf flickered his eyes to the right as rabbits slowly emerged again. Their problem was they lacked basic intelligence; rabbits were fast, but intelligence beat everything in the fight for survival. The wolf gestured for Terra to try again. From here onwards, it was a simple game of trial and error. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-10-2011
OOC Terra brightened at her teacher's words. She hadn't caught the rabbit, true, but he said it was simply a matter of time and practice. He even said her technique was good! Tail wagging Terra turned back to the rabbits. This time she would definitely catch one. The coyote would not let herself be a disappointment twice in a row. Scanning the rabbits Terra picked out a rabbit with a limp. Unlike her last one this rabbit was near the edge. It was practically screaming to be taken down. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-10-2011
wc: 300 He couldn’t believe it! When Terra next went off, for the second time, Frodo instantly saw a change in her. The spring in her step, the confidence in herself. All she needed was a little push in the right direction and she was off! Frodo grinned heavily, his bright green eyes focusing on her shape as she caught the rabbit fluently and without any hesitation. Yes! he whooped as she proudly wandered back to him, her posture that of a alpha. My girl, that was babala-googling! Mind boggling! Diamond standard! Monstrous effort, miss… he trailed off, realising he didn’t even know her name! My word, we haven’t even got acquainted! I’m Frodo Silvertongue! Of AniWaya! he touched his quivering pink nose against her forehead in the common greeting of his kin, and waited for her to say her own name. Now, just keep practicin’ like tha’ an’ your gonna be a pro. You got it exactamundo. Now we need to be honin’ our skillls on some… he cut off suddenly, his eyes skimming across the reserve to where the warthog had re-emerged, under the thickets of the trees. It surely would be fun to attempt to catch that…but they’d only have one chance at it. Hog’s were tricksy little buggers with sly, quick minds and devious attitudes towards their predators. You see right there? he whispered, his intense green eyes locked obviously on the pig. A mischievous smile crept upon Frodo‘s maw, the wolf looking just as devious as the hog itself. Baby, do you feel up to some Olympic sneaking, my girl? he questioned, his eyes never leaving the pig as it snuffled along the wood floor with it’s rough nose and powerful tusks. Eat up tha' rabbit o' yours... you're gonna need the energy, squirt. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-10-2011
OOC Terra wagged her tail with pleasure. As he touched his nose to her she licked him under his muzzle. Terra. Of Cour des Miracles. The lack of names hadn't bothered her, as names were something granted once trust had been earned. Before then mentioning it could put one in danger. It made them traceable. Terra was a ghost, moving smoothly. Yes, she stirred things up. But tracking her down was near impossible thanks to her swiftness and lies. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-12-2011
wc: 384 He grinned, bowing to her as if he was a servant and she was a very fine lady when she introduced herself. He'd never been to the said pack before, but it sounded very fancy indeed. Frodo wasn't really mocking her, he was just being friendly. The boy tap-tapped his tail in wags, watching her with eagerness as she swallowed up the rabbit in a way that was quite feisty. She was obviously as excited as him, the silvertongue thought while mirroring her extreme grin. It was the time and place for extreme grins. For they were about to do something very extreme indeed, under the circumstances. Hrmmm... Frodo swallowed slowly, thinking as he locked both stormy eyes on the lumbering pig. The wolf scratched his chin and racked his brains, gently steadying and orientating himself to be ready. If they made a wrong move, only God new what would happen. Keep atta straight run at it from behind... follow the break in the trees..kinda a path, like, see? he gestured with his chin towards a light trail where the pig was smack bang in the middle of. The plan was to make the pig run in a straight line up through it, and be cut off. I'll be hidin' right where the path goes into a fork... I'll jump out from 'is front, cut 'im off, and then it's just bitin' and shizz from there. Get it? Got it? Good. simple enough technique, and now it was time to put it into action. He had purposefully not gone into too much detail because he wanted to see how she reacted herself, the independent decisions she made. This would all reflect on her being able to catch stuff in the future. By the cat's mother, on my calling of Go you rush at it! he whispered, running into a light jog a bit away from Terra. Uno, Due, Tre! For the griffin army! Infinity and beyond! Go! by the time he stage-whispered go, he was already in place, a far way up the path and hiding in the mud. He made sure to conceal himself in leaves and foliage, so when the pig was driven up to him he'd be able to jump out without the pig knowing he was there first. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-12-2011
OOC Terra nodded her head at Frodo's explanation. It seemed pretty straightforward, just like a deer hunt. Having never taken on a hog before it seemed logical that they would approach it that way. The idea of cutting off the hog instead of just ambushing it was the one thing that was different. Willing to do anything new Terra waited while Frodo rushed into position. She giggled at his silly words, so mocking in the position they were in. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-12-2011
wc: 713 Frodo was just a boy. He wasn't that sensible, and not that much older than Terra herself. It was probably not a good time to remember now that he'd only killed a couple of pigs in his life, all with arrows from afar. He'd never tried this technique on them before, only with elk. Little did he know how stubborn they were when up close. A startled cry erupted from his lips as he watched all go wrong when Terra attempted to herd the hog towards him. He snorted angrily and leapt up, thinking quickly, as quickly as he could. It had now become dangerous, and Terra's life was at stake. With little experience she would become victim to the hog's tusks, and he was no medic. GO! ABANDON SHIP! SKEDADDLE! HARUMPH! I'LL BE WIT' YOU INNA JIFFY! he called out in a loud voice while being preoccupied, searching for flashes of silver. As quick as he could, he followed their scents back to their original meeting place. In less than five seconds, he'd shifted back to Optime and had plucked two feathered arrows from the quiver that lay on the floor. With all speed, he ran quickly back to the hog. The warthog was still for now, but it looked like a bull ready to charge, scraping cloven hooves against the ground in all anger. Oi, ye great big warty so and so! Over here! Yer, you! he shouted, waving his clutched fists in the air. And the hog ran straight for him, tusks out and ready. Frodo stood his ground. And then at the last minute, he had leapt clean over the hog, pivoted mid air, and landed astride it like he would ride a horse. In the breadth of a second he had plunged each arrow into either side of it's neck, while keeping hold with his thighs as the hog bucked worse than the strongest cow at the rodeo. Because of the pig's size, his feet dangled almost to the floor as he rode it, and it was uncomfortable indeed. But he didn't have to stay there for long. The man pushed up with his palms, doing a somoursault off the back of the pig, landing smoothly a few paces behind as it let out cries of pain before tumbling to the ground. It twitched as it lay, and he scrambled over, ending it's pain by pulling out both arrows and plunging them into it's scaly chest. The life in the creature subsided. Frodo was victorious. And it had been a very entertaining show indeed. But he didn't see it that way. Man, Terra, so sorry 'bout that, my girl. he turned to her, walking over. Good job anyways. You hurt? he was about to slap her on the back in triumph when he realised he was still covered in blood. Gingerly, the man clenched his bloodied fists together. 'Nother time, Terra, 'nother time. I tink it's time to wrap dis up, now. his paled eyes surfaced to their normal intense green state, and he was calmed and no longer on edge. A few ragged breaths escaped him as adrelaline subsided, and he looked at the pig, it's pallid skin wet with many wounds. Needin' to shift this snoozin' mucker pronto. Lemmie get my stuff, I'll make him into leetle packages and be off with half for me pack, you can 'ave the rest. he smiled cautiously, hoping she wasn't too badly hurt, on the inside as well as out. The boy ran towards where his cloak and bandana lay from the shift, he fastened them both, as well as the golden ring that hung from a chain. He inhaled the salty air and retrieved his oaken bow, which he slung round one shoulder, quiver which he slung round the other, and belt/sheath which was wrapped smugly round his waist. The man trotted back to the battlefield, ready. Fully clothed now he bent down over the fallen beast and got to work; first retrieving both arrows and cleaning them before putting them back in the quiver, and then with the dagger at his hilt, breaking the meat into separate sections which he would bring back to AniWaya and cure from there. He much preferred cooked meat to raw. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-12-2011
OOC Frodo gave her the signal to run, and Terra didn't hesitate. She dove into the undergrowth, squeezing herself into a gap the hog couldn't follow her through. Frustrated at having lost it's victim the pig continued to squeal and charge around. Now Frodo leaped in. Terra watched in awe as he hit the pig's back and forced the arrows through the tough skin. He looked just like a valiant warrior, fighting the hog with all his might. When it finally dropped dead Terra crawled out from her gap. She stared at the hog in shock. He'd brought it down so easily where she'd struggled. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Frodo Silvertongue - 12-13-2011
wc: --- thought we could leave it here It's up to you whether they meet again in three weeks or not, or even sooner/later. I'd like them to thread again, but up to you xD The man looked over his narrow shoulder and watched the fey creep out from her hiding place, also shifting without a word, silent and seemingly feeling upset about the whole thing. He was grateful for her help witht the sharp arrow and he smiled softly, his eyes kind as he worked his way through the pig. Cutting along the general seams of the beast, he divided it the only way he knew how; into separate sections, mainly consisting of the general torso. Head was left, as an offering to the religion he’d been brought up knowing for the majority of his life. Legs were kept separate as well, however he’d be taking two of those with him. Gradually he narrowed down the meat, roughly but all together cleanly. He wiped his forehead and then grinned; his final mission to organize the hide of the creature. It was too small to serve as a good blanket, so instead he divided it in half, and in his half, collected up a lot of the meat, and one tusk of the boar. He wrapped it so he was carrying the heavy bundle like a sack, securing it around a shoulder he turned to Terra. Collect what yer can. Meat’s most important, eh wot, an’ I’d get that other tusk, too, fer good measure. You get me? he’d left a great deal for her, and indeed a great deal would be left even when her own share was collected. Gingerly, he handed her his penknife. Frodo was already in possession of a dagger, a beautiful one with a silver handle. It had been his mothers. She’d been meek, and mild, but she’d loved him all the same, and he’d loved her too. The penknife was for smaller, niftier work, but he supposed he’d find another one somewhere. It was obvious with his regretful glance that he was giving Terra the knife. It wasn’t beautiful like his dagger, but it was practical, and strong. Keep that, will yer? Take the tusk, rest o’ the hide, an’ whatever else yer can carry. he repeated, looking at her sternly as if he was her father. He wasn’t trying to be commanding, but he was simply concerned about the femme who hadn’t been able to hunt before today. I’ll be leavin’, now. But I’ll be back in say… three weeks? Keep practicin’, you’ll get hang o’ it pronto, no problemo. the man ruffled her head with a meek smile, his grin only widening, his expression that of fondness for his new found friend. He gave her a hefty wave, further pulled the hide wrappings onto his shoulder, and walked away, his gear all on him, the strides he stepped hearty and fine. <style type="text/css"> .frodo-a01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#FFFFFF; letter-spacing:1px; } .frodo-a01 .ooc { font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .frodo-a01 p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px;} .frodo-a01 {margin:0px auto; width:400px; background-color:#538854; background-image:url(http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... book32.jpg); background-position:bottom top; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 170px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Terra - 12-13-2011
OOC I'd love another thread together. Near the end of December works for me. PM me for details or I'll just put one up after Christmas Terra wagged her tail in agreement. He'd left a lot for her, including some of the better parts of the hog. Leon had left the liver behind in favor for parts that would store better, but Terra had no such gumptions. Picking it up she swallowed it down, and grinned up at Frodo. Thanks. She wasn't too sure what use the tusk would be, but she added it to her pile anyways. Normally she'd have claimed it as a trophy, but as she hadn't helped bring the creature down it wouldn't be used as such. Maybe one of her friends could use it. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
|
