Halifax was not the same as the other cities; it had the empty but little else. A few scents hooked in his nostrils and dragged him around different paths, and there was plenty of evidence of canine activity: the remains of a shaken rat here, a bundle of blankets there, wet pawprints on pavement and something that looked suspiciously like a trap. He found himself disappointed, but then again, Nova Scotia was not like Europe. He’d known that coming here; it had been most of the reason he’d come here. Frowning, scratching the nape of his neck, the Turkish wolf decided that he might as well scavenge around. There had to be something interesting among the old buildings and decrepit cars, and even if this was not an area of immense traffic, he could go elsewhere to pawn off whatever he’d gathered. There were likely some fools in the area who didn’t know they could just come to the city to get such trinkets. He called Wilson close to his side, and the cat snorted as what looked like a rat whisked out of sight. Like with any new area, he wasn’t sure what types of individuals could be in the area, and he did not want his best friend eaten because of carelessness. Besides, he knew hawks and the like loved to perch on the high buildings. The nearest building, a squat antique shop of sorts, had a broken window. The hole didn’t look big enough for a wolf to fit through, so the merchant supposed any valuables were still left inside. He grinned up at the window, just a few feet out of reach, and then looked down at the tomcat. “Want to hop in and open the door for me?” Levent asked, brows raised.
Wilson narrowed his yellow eyes and lifted a paw.
The brown wolf scowled quickly, glancing back at the window. He knew he could fit through if the glass were out, but as it was, it seemed very sharp… Sighing, he removed his satchel and dropped it on the ground beside the cat, reaching back to make sure his head-cloth was tight as if that would do anything. “ The glass shattered, and it might have cut him if not for his thick fur. He fell down onto a table that broke under his weight and landed among many baubles and doohickeys. Groaning, he lifted his head then stared in confusion at a second source of light coming into the shop—the crack of a door.
Wilson beamed at him as he slunk in.
Levent blinked, clenched his fists as he pushed himself into a seated position, and burst into raucous guffaws. table and manip by raze; template by kitty <style>.Kadencat p {padding:5px 15px 10px 15px; margin:0px; text-indent:0px; } .Kadencat b {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat t {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat w {font-family:verdana; color:#eae7e7; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat {background-color:#50504a; font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; color:#242421; width:480px; text-align:justify; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/x4DMp.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:400px 0px 5px 0px; border:5px solid #58604f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:18px; line-height:16px; } .Kadencat .ooc {text-align:center; font-family:verdana;font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #58604f;} p.template-credit {text-indent:0px; text-align:center; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; width:425px; text-align:center; margin:0px auto;}</style> - Saul Stormbringer - 03-14-2012
Eirias had returned a little while ago with no letters. It had saddened the grey male greatly to know that his family, and Neela, didn't particularly want to speak to him. Had his move damaged them that badly that they would ignore his letters? He didn't know. Saul didn't know how he felt about it, but sadness was definitely on the top of his list. Green eyes had turned around the room when Eir had returned, talons empty of letters that he might have been sent back with. Of course, the utter joy that the bird had managed to get back to Ichika and deliver the letters, and then return back to him was something he should be overjoyed about and Saul had praised the bird for his intelligence. There was still a lot of work to do with the falcon and Saul felt as though he was stretched a little thin. Now that Temeraire was growing steadily, he was far more active than Saul was used to. And while Saul knew that it wasn't his job to breath down his sons neck all day every day, he couldn't relinquish the protective hold he had over his son. He was pleased that the boy got on well with Ezra's son Elias, even if the latter was a few months older than the former. Saul wanted to begin teaching Temeraire about a few things, but he internally refrained- his son was a bit too young to be forced to sit down and learn about reading and writing, especially since he had no opposable thumbs to practise with. #artTXT { font-family:'trebuchet ms', tahoma, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #artTXT p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #artTXT p.sieImage { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:left; margin:5px; } #artTXT .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif text-transform:none; line-height:16px; font-weight:normal; } #artTXT .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #artTXT b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #artTXT u { text-decoration: underline; } #artTXT b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
- Levent Kartal - 03-17-2012
Word Count :: 404 Nothing to apologize for! :o
The sound of a canine voice made him tuck the knife back into its pouch on his shoulder, and he rocked himself to his feet. The cat shook his head when he reached out with his arms to give him a good place to jump up, and with a shrug he turned his gaze toward the wolf standing in the doorway now. “Do you feed him?” Levent asked bluntly, but the would-be criticizing statement was softened by the smile that tweaked his lips upward. Of course the newcomer would be taller than he was by more than a foot, but he did seem younger and his apology only made that more evident. “He is beautiful,” he allowed after another moment, his eyes finding the white-morphed gyrfalcon perched on the wolf’s arm. The dappling of black in snowy plumage was selcouth but lovely, and he was smiling almost moronically before the cat bit his ankle and caused him to yelp.
The feline took a seat, tail curled around himself, head set prim and proper, and the Turkish man stifled a giggle. He always introduced the both of them to strangers; Wilson usually remained curled and suspicious on his shoulder. Why he was suddenly so sure of himself now was beyond him—but he did his best to keep a straight face when the cat gave him an annoyed glance. table and manip by raze; template by kitty <style>.Kadencat p {padding:5px 15px 10px 15px; margin:0px; text-indent:0px; } .Kadencat b {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat t {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat w {font-family:verdana; color:#eae7e7; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat {background-color:#50504a; font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; color:#242421; width:480px; text-align:justify; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/x4DMp.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:400px 0px 5px 0px; border:5px solid #58604f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:18px; line-height:16px; } .Kadencat .ooc {text-align:center; font-family:verdana;font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #58604f;} p.template-credit {text-indent:0px; text-align:center; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; width:425px; text-align:center; margin:0px auto;}</style> - Saul Stormbringer - 03-19-2012
Wide green eyes watched as the dark figure inside the house offered his arms to the white cat, who refused with a shake of its head. It was a strange interaction, but Saul had spent enough time around non-canine animals to recognise someone who was also used to having other animals around. The bird on his arm was heavy, but Saul knew in a few months time he would have grown enough to be a burden to his arm. For now, Eir was more than happy perch on Saul's arm, dark grey eyes fixed on the pale cat as accented words came from the depths. Saul was about to retort when the man stepped into the light, a softer smile on his lips. Saul chuckled softly, stroking the birds breast as he shuffled, re-griping Saul's arm with dagger-like talons. Ah, he gets fed enough. He's just a hunter- your companion there caught his attention. Saul offered in return, an amiable lilt to his voice as he stepped back and allowed the two to come out into the daylight. #artTXT { font-family:'trebuchet ms', tahoma, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #artTXT p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #artTXT p.sieImage { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:left; margin:5px; } #artTXT .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif text-transform:none; line-height:16px; font-weight:normal; } #artTXT .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #artTXT b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #artTXT u { text-decoration: underline; } #artTXT b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
- Levent Kartal - 03-23-2012
Word Count :: 284 Razebutt writes short post!
After the tomcat got his payback, however, the joking mood faded away though it was no less friendly. The Turkish luperci continued to admire the bird, although he wasn’t envious of the grip of talons on the man’s arm. He smirked sheepishly at the question, his blue eyes following the others’ to the various ways of entry into the old shop.
“Looking for shiny things,” Levent answered, turning his nose up. “I was born and raised a merchant”—not too untrue considering his father and his own eventual occupation, even if he was a thieving street rat during his youth—“and I’ve not gotten out of the habit of searching for more things to trade.” He crossed his arms and nodded at the falcon’s claws. “Might be able to get hold of a gauntlet or something for you; that can’t be comfortable.” He idly traced a cat-scratch-scab on his own arm, muttering under his breath, “ table and manip by raze; template by kitty <style>.Kadencat p {padding:5px 15px 10px 15px; margin:0px; text-indent:0px; } .Kadencat b {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat t {font-family:verdana; color:#9b9db4; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat w {font-family:verdana; color:#eae7e7; font-size:10px; font-weight:bold; letter-spacing:1px; } .Kadencat {background-color:#50504a; font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; color:#242421; width:480px; text-align:justify; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/x4DMp.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:400px 0px 5px 0px; border:5px solid #58604f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:18px; line-height:16px; } .Kadencat .ooc {text-align:center; font-family:verdana;font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #58604f;} p.template-credit {text-indent:0px; text-align:center; font-size:10px; font-style:italic; width:425px; text-align:center; margin:0px auto;}</style> |
