How can you drop a character? I really need to know what the process is and how long you can wait to make another one.

You need to post in the Player update forum in the NPC and drop thread thing and then you have to wait two weeks I believe to pick up another character or request one (depending on if it will be your second or not). Or if you drop your only character, you can join as a new character right away
