- Willam la Chemin - 08-10-2012
Word Count → 326 :: Prompt #1: Travel to Halifax and scavenge something for the clan -- put it our storage room!
Châtiment walked along beside her, the stallion keeping her company on the journey that she was taking. But then again the equine had yet to be spotted too far away from the large coyote female. He had proven himself to be a faithful companion even if Willam didn't claim him as her own. Even so she had become accustomed to his company and cherished it. He was the one certainty that she had. He was her living tie to la Chemin.
The large female walked through the industrial district and checked through the warehouses for anything to prove to be of use. While she had come looking for one thing in particular she wasn't against finding more to bring back. After all she had Châtiment with her and could always drape things across the horse's back for him to aid in her haul. While she was uncertain of her place in Inferni she figured that bringing back things of use would show that she had some amount of value at least. Of course after she built her travois she planned on showing just what she could do by bringing back a feast for the members to share in. It was the only contribution that she knew she would be adept enough at. .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
- Sonje Helsi - 08-11-2012
(Hope you don't mind me! ^_^)
Sonje by Sie! Sonje stayed in Halifax for the upper portion of a week, not choosing to live permanently but rather spending her time wisely, collecting things she needed and wanted. She'd mostly gathered small essentials: a tin canteen, a fringed quilt (to replace the tattered blanket she'd been hauling for months), a small assortment of weapons and some decrepit cans of food that was surprisingly still good. Her favorite would of course be her weapons—the dagger named Viper and Black Mamba, the sword she didn't know how to use yet. Jagga carried everything on her broad back, and in a hanging knapsack, as they walked side-by-side down into the warehouse district again. Luperci and horse. This part of Halifax was easiest for Jagga to maneuver in, so this was where Sonje spent most of her time. She visited the harbor once or twice when she was tired to looking around, but now she kept to her steed's side, not having to guide her as they marched towards the warmest of the warehouses, where they'd been sleeping the past few nights. But as they walked, the wolfdog became aware of all the noise Jagga's hoofsteps were making, so she made the mare stop only to realize that another clopping sound was filling the area. Maybe she'd been hoping for something to hunt and kill (as her diet mostly consisted of warehouse rats these days), but she stopped when she noticed the dark-furred horse had a two-legged companion. She placed the knife in a makeshift rope-holster on her thigh, and stepped out onto the street with her empty hands clearly visible. #je-bust p { text-indent: 40px; padding: 0; margin: 10px 0; } #je-bust p.jeImage { float: right; text-align: right; font: 10px Verdana; font-style: italic; margin: -.5px;} #je-bust .ooc { text-indent: 20px; text-align: left; font-size: 11px; font-family: Verdana; line-height: 16px; font-weight: normal; } #je-bust q { letter-spacing: 0px; font-weight: bold; } </style>
- Willam la Chemin - 08-12-2012
Word Count → 303 :: Naw, I don't mind at all. Just wanna try to get through the first 1500 words as quickly as possible which at 300+ a post is only 5 posts needed. Also, Chesire as in Valoria Chesire?
But the thought was interrupted by the voice of another. "I am. Willam la Chemin, formerly of la Chemin though now of Inferni. I am here for supplies on Inferni's behalf." With the question that had been posed Willam figured that the woman worked here. "That. I need that. And some sort of thick material, canvas maybe? Something that will be able to support dead weight as well as being able to be used as protection from the weather." As Willam spoke she had pointed out the rope tied around the woman's leg, the coyote's own leg sporting the metal cilice that she always wore.
"I want to make a travois to hitch to Châtiment when hunting." Willam reached out and patted the horse's neck to allow the woman to know that it was the stallion being referenced. "Perhaps something to cut the branches with as well..." Her voice trailed off as she thought about it. She wasn't certain if Inferni already had something like that or not. Still, it could never hurt to have an extra, right? "Would you be able to guide me to where I can find all of that?" .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
- Sonje Helsi - 08-13-2012
(Unfortunately no, Cheshire is a new alias of mine, taken from my own ridiculously human pet cat lol)
Sonje by Sie! After speaking, Sonje leaned her shoulder against the side of the building and crossed her arms beneath her chest loosely, choosing to listen to the talkative young woman if only because she had little else better to do. She was meeting quite a few of her own kind (meaning Luperci) out here, making life a tad more interesting than it had been when she'd previously been traveling. Technically she was still traveling, but it had come to past where she thought she might could settle in the area, even in the midst of so many others. Despite her prickly nature, she was social at heart—a pack wolf to her core. She blinked, not missing a word of the stranger's explanation but not finding herself particularly enthused to be a part of any of it. Her tail twitched, and for a while she didn't answer, merely leaned there silently, studying the blatant innocence and honesty of Willam la Chemin's face. She held the same glorified pack scent too, that Sepirah had had, so she chose to believe her for the time being. Sonje also recognized that Willam had somehow gotten under the impression that Sonje worked here, which she wasn't immediately going to dispute given the slight angles she saw in the role. This, and the fact that she'd come to know the warehouse district quite well, all played to her advantage. After a pregnant pause in which she pensively considered what she should do next, she finally said: She was, hopefully, playing on Willam's naivety on the subject, though she wasn't betting all her bucks on this particularly half-assed, random plan to swindle a poor girl out of her items. She was simply trying, not actually doing any harm, was how she rationalized it. - Willam la Chemin - 08-13-2012
Word Count → 359 :: It is fine hun, was just curious.
Willam felt so stricken that she reached up a hand to wrap around the crucifix that hung from the rosary about her neck. She held tightly to the carved wooden figure in order to garner some amount of comfort from it. But this did nothing to ease the guilt and incompetence that she felt. With a sigh she dropped the crucifix and reached for the cilice that was about her leg and tightened it until she started to bleed. It still didn't ease the knowledge that she had done something wrong but at least she was paying for her failure.
"I need the items to build a travois to hunt with." Willam began, explaining the predicament that she was in, as she slowly glanced up at the female. "I could work off the use of the items. There is a forest near here. I could hunt for you and bring you back what I catch. You can come along and watch since it is close by." It was all that Willam could think to offer in return. Willam would give away the entirely of whatever she could catch just to have the items she needed to build a transport for large prey. Jagga wouldn't even have to do any work at all, other than showing Willam where to gather the items from should she accept the offered terms. Willam was willing to do everything else on her own. And of course she only offered for Jagga to come along so that Jagga could see for herself that Willam wouldn't run off with whatever was caught without paying for the items that she needed. .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
- Sonje Helsi - 08-19-2012
Sonje by Sie! Sonje clicked her teeth disappointedly when Willam claimed to have come empty-handed. She narrowed her eyes indistinctly but shrugged it off. This would have been much more fun (or productive, she considered) if her "guest" had had something to hand her. The hybrid couldn't imagine the pleasure she might have gotten from the small feat by way of trickery. It took some effort, but she masked her inward depression and yawned instead as the Inferni woman offered to hunt in return for the warehouse goods. She motioned for Willam to follow, picking a careful stride back up the street she'd come, heading back towards her own horse. Taking the reins, she turned Jagga towards Willam, still walking her steed. - Willam la Chemin - 08-20-2012
Word Count → 562 :: And this will make my 1500 words. Thanks.
The large female followed after the woman that had agreed to show her around. She had to or else she would never find what it was that she was after. Or well, maybe she would have still been able to find it but it would have taken much longer. "What about something to cut the wood? Where would that be found? In the same place or somewhere else?" That was the only thing else that Willam would need, or so she thought, that hadn't been listed off as to where to find it.
Willam watched the other female greet her own steed. She was surprised when she climbed onto the mare's back though. "Mount up?" Her voice presented forth her confusion at the words. She had never heard them before and had no idea what they meant. Willam had never ridden a horse before. Châtiment had only ever been used as a work horse. His whole purpose had always been to pull the travois on hunts. the stallion hadn't been used for anything past that as far as Willam knew. At least she had never used him for anything other than that since she was usually the one hitching the travois to his back.
As she didn't understand, or even had the basics of riding, she continued to walk along. She had always walked wherever she went. Even the long journey all the way to Inferni had been done on her own two legs. It wasn't the quickest option of travel but it was all that she knew. Actually Willam never even knew that there was a possibility that Châtiment could be taught to carry a rider upon his back since he was certainly docile enough. But would he even walk on his own? How could Willam direct him when she was used to being in front of him and walking to show him just where to go. When they were traveling together he had always walked when she walked and would stop when she stopped. how could he do that when he would be unable to see her to follow?
No, Willam figured that she was better off just walking on her own two legs instead of trying to ride the horse. At least that way she knew she could control where she was going. Also, knowing her own speed of travel she could approximate when she would get somewhere. There were just too many uncertainties for her to consider to take up riding. She didn't want to get dependent on another for travel. Willam didn't want others to think her an invalid because she could not walk on her own. .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
- Sonje Helsi - 08-26-2012
(Glad I could help!)
Sonje by Sie!
Tugging on the reins, she swung Jagga back to face the two of them, looking a little bewildered herself. She paused, not quite knowing what to say at first, but when the "shopper" continued walking alongside her horse, the hybrid shook herself.

"He usually drags things behind him." It wasn't too often that she actually placed things on his back. Even then it had always been something light. Still, the other female was settled easily on the back of her horse. It had Willam looking to her own stallion and wondering if it was even possible. "How would I...?" The words were murmured out as she tried to figure out how it was even possible to be able to sit on Châtiment's back.
Willam turned to look back to the other female again as she came closer. "Would he still walk? He has always followed me." Her lack of equestrian knowledge was easily apparent. "If you think it would be for the best to ride then I am willing to try it. I simply do not know how to. What would I have to do first?" She was willing to try something new, it was just her lack of even the basic knowledge of riding that was hindering. Would it really be quicker to ride when she needed a lesson in how to ride as well as how to even mount up? Willam was willing to do as the woman she thought was named Jagga instructed since Jagga seemed to be an expert on the subject. .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
- Sonje Helsi - 09-11-2012
(Sorry for the wait!)
Sonje by Sie! She certainly had plenty of questions! Exasperatedly, she rolled her eyes and shook her head, before lowering it and laying one arm across her stomach and holding up her other hand lankly as to stop her. Sonje was laughing, a low little funny chuckle, mostly under her breath but accentuated by the slight jumping of her shoulders. The wolfdog wasn't into babying anymore, however short-lived it had been to begin with. Her patience was short, especially since she hadn't even had anyone to teach her to ride. It was sad that she assumed everyone should be so inclined.
- Willam la Chemin - 09-27-2012
Word Count → 503 :: Not an issue
The large coyote woman watched as the other slid from her horse's back just to demonstrate how to get on. Once Jagga was back on the mare's back did Willam seek to mimic the movements that she was shown. With the sorts of weapons that she used Willam knew she had upper body strength, especially within her arms as she was used to launching items over a distance. She felt awkward in her doing so but had managed to pull herself up onto the stallion's back. Châtiment remained still and allowed for it to happen but still Willam felt weird sitting up on his back. She reached a hand down and stroked the equine's neck. "You are a good boy, Châtiment." She spoke the words to the horse though he really didn't need any calming. It was more for her own benefit than anything else.
"So what now?" The question was posed to the other female as Willam looked back towards her once again. She had managed to get upon the horse's back but she still had no idea how to make him walk since he had always followed along behind her. He had never tried to get him to walk on his own or anything like that. She was just so used to him walking without instruction. the horse had always stalked along behind her without her ever having to call to him to make him follow her. Now that he could no longer see her to be able to follow her lead how was she to make certain that he moved? She had never tried to lead him anywhere with her being out of eyesight of him. But then again she had never forced him to follow her before. She had always allowed for the stallion to do whatever he wished to do. Granted the horse had always chosen to follow after her. But that was the thing, it had always been his choice and not because Willam had ever commanded it to be so. .wings1-box {background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/ ... cwt0t4.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: top center; width:96px; height:103px; float:right; margin:3px; } .wings1 {font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing:0px; word-spacing:2px; text-align: left; margin:0px 25px;} .wings1 p.ooc {font-style:italic; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 p.ooc + p {padding:0px 5px;} .wings1 .wc {text-transform: uppercase; font-weight:bold;} .wings1 p {text-indent: 25px; margin:0px; padding:10px 5px;} .wings1 b {letter-spacing:1px; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:-.05em;} </style>
|
