- Anu - 08-23-2012
for Tayui and Nat
- Tayui Aston - 08-26-2012

Tayui was so relieved that Anu and Cypress were willing to pass through New Dawn. She could only hope that Zalen would still be friendly toward her. He hadn't ended up helping her with their attack against Salsola and she still remembered how uncomfortable their first meeting had been after she'd joked about Inferni. She forgot that even though she did not despise Inferni, there were many others who had terrible run-ins. Even though she'd faced Inferni's warriors more times than she liked to remember, each more terrifying than the last, she couldn't bring herself to hate them like she did Salsola.
- Zalen Damaichu - 08-26-2012
OOC http://i.imgur.com/X61K1.png);width:500px;height:150px;border:1px solid black;">
Zalen was lying flat on his back on the mound outside the den, thinking. Noah had just recently returned beaten and broken at the hands of Amy. His hate for the dog was now cemented in his heart like some black thing, and he wanted to be rid of it. Soon he would send out several of his members to find and hopefully bring her to him. He would humiliate and punish her until she bled in front of all New Dawn, and then he would leave her for his pack to do what they will. These dark thoughts did not become him, and he yearned for the day he could return to normal. Sitting up with a sigh Zalen’s mind once again drifted to his mate; what Thana had said the other day rested heavily on his mind. She had been in that den for such a long time, and yet he could not bring himself to check on her for fear that he might cause more trouble than he would solve. But he knew there was a breaking point to this barrier he just had to wait for it to come. Towards the borders to the south came a call, first singular, then intertwined. Zalen raised his head high and peaked his dark ears to the sound; the second call… it was familiar. He got up on all fours and shook himself before beginning his loping run towards the borders. As he neared, the scent of a horse caught his nose, and then in the distance, he could see the outline of a cart. He was immediately angered; the horse and cart had become associated with Amy, and no matter who was driving this particular one, he would be on edge. Then, another scent came to him, one that nearly slowed him down, but instead, he sped up, the ridge of fur on his back spiking. Once the two wolfess’s were right in front of him he switched from his four legged lope to striding on his back legs; he was able to do this swiftly and smoothly; an action well-practiced. He walked right up to the woman he had once pledged allegiance to, and who had then been outed to him by Vesper to be a fraud. He lifted his lips at her, "What are you doing at my border, Noir? Or should I say, Tayui?" It was clear he was not happy with her appearance. - Anu - 08-28-2012
sorry for the wait!
- Tayui Aston - 08-28-2012

Tayui noticed immediately that Zalen's arrival put Anu on edge. She recalled that his body language had been much the same in their first meeting; though, now as an Alpha, she saw that he had to assume his dominance. She lowered her head and flattened her ears in a show of respect as he approached. Since they were the ones asking him for a favour--and a mighty big one at that--she would do best to show him that he was in charge in his packlands. Anything else would simply be wrong.
- Zalen Damaichu - 08-31-2012
OOC http://i.imgur.com/X61K1.png);width:500px;height:150px;border:1px solid black;">
Zalen watched as both of the females genuflected, but in surprise and worry. Good. They should be worried, especially Tayui. But instead of turning or quickly stating their business, instead she had the gall to ask for safe passage through New Dawn. Zalen threw his head back and faux sneezed, as if he had just smelled something terrible. His reaction seemed to confuse her, and she asked him if everything was alright, and he looked down upon her incredulously. She then apologized for giving him a fake name and admitted her folly in the Salsola attack. This admission at least calmed him a bit and he lowered his lips, instead just staring at her coldly. Once she was finished speaking he glanced up at the other woman, who looked at them expectantly, he huffed out before speaking, "You disrespect me and those you seek and sought to protect by giving fraudulent information. Vesper told me that you gathered to you scoundrels and troublemakers, and because of your blindness the slave rescue failed. Because of you an innocent slave died, and Vesper and the others were nearly killed." His brow furrowed as he said this, "I should not allow you to pass, and instead feed you to the demons that are the Salsolans." He lifted his head high then. But Zalen was not that kind of wolf; no matter how much some angered him, he would always allow them a second chance, but he would not say this outright. Tayui may not be worth his grace, but he could not condemn the other female just for associated with her. So the Alpha male then let out a long, frustrated sigh, "But, I will concede to your request, for her sake," Zalen looked up at Anu, "I will guide you through the lands myself, and quickly." - Anu - 09-06-2012

- Tayui Aston - 09-10-2012 Apologies for the length!

Tayui froze when Zalen reared back. She tensed, waiting for an attack, but it never came. She was still unused to his mannerisms and it seemed as though he had become even more obstinate now that he was an Alpha. Even that didn’t seem like the right word, so she couldn’t quite pinpoint what was making her so uncomfortable. She recognized that she was asking quite the favour, but she hadn’t been prepared for Zalen’s anger. The moment he claimed that she disrespected everyone else, she felt herself go very cold and very still. She knew exactly what she had done and she did not need some young, hotheaded, too-good-for-himself Alpha telling her what she had done. She had not gathered scoundrels and troublemakers at all, either, but it seemed as though he was content to allow his straw man’s argument rest on hyperboles and half truths. She wondered if he thought Vesper was, therefore, a troublemaker, Attila, Jaden, or Lucia. She didn’t think he had met her other comrades, including Terra, Zana, or Ángel.
- Zalen Damaichu - 09-15-2012
I suppose this can be closed out now? http://i.imgur.com/X61K1.png);width:500px;height:150px;border:1px solid black;">
Zalen could see the worry spread over the face of the woman who sat in the cart; she obviously had not idea of what Zalen spoke of. Tayui on the other hand was careful to keep her reactions subtle, and hardly twitched at the Alpha’s harsh words about her. Instead, after he was finished, she only stated there was more to the story than he knew, and that they would be best on their way. Zalen knew that he did not have all the details when it came to what happened in the raid on Salsola, but Vesper was a level headed coyote, and she would not have said something so negative about this wolfess unless she had a good reason too. Therefore, the dark king was going to believe his friend over what the woman who had hidden her identity from him. Zalen nodded to her saying and looked over the three gathered canines and their cart before turning and dropping back down onto all fours to guide them through the territory. He took them to the old highway, not only because it would be a clear and quick route to cut through New Dawn, but also because it kept them away from the den; there was no reason for them to know where it was located. The Alpha said nothing, for he had nothing to say, he just wanted to get them to their destination; Vinatta. He had no opinion of the newly formed pack, though he was curious why these folk might want to go there rather than Sangi’lak or another of the packs; perhaps they offered them a refuge there; it seemed that they were refugees of some sort, but it was none of his business. The trek across the pack lands was smooth and event-less, and it took them only but a few hours to traverse it from one side to the other; it would have gone much fast had it not been for that damndible cart. Zalen took them a ways beyond the borders, just to make sure that they did not dawdle near the pack lands, then he stood again, "Here you are, Vinatta is not much more than several more hours away, you should get there just after night fall." He waited to see if they had any more to say, and then he would depart. |
