Rizu was not normally the type of coyote who found herself at the borders of unknown lands and destinations. She was normally a well rounded female whom kept close to her family and friends, ignoring their faults and accepting their stories. Until recently. The events that had taken place within her own clan were to horrible to think of, yet alone whisper to a comforting ear. She found the only way to escape such memories was to travel as far away from home as she possibly could. It seemed for now though Rizu could travel no further. Weary to the bone the young female looked warily around her as she broke free of dense brush to look upon a far stretch of beach that bordered an inlet that led into vast waters.
She hugged herself as the rain, that seemed to never stop, bit at her fur along with the water being blown in from the bay, the morning holding a bitter chill even as the day slowly progressed into the afternoon. It seemed Rizuka would have to make camp here until someone came across her. Turning back into the woods that bordered the beach and the scent of a claimed territory Rizu started to search for wood that was unmarked by the damp to build a small fire, though she knew her task was quite futile since it had rained for a few days now and was only doing such a thing occupy her mind for now. Rizu was certainly a pretty though could never claim so herself, even for being quite scrawny from a long travels she wasn't the most plain of coyotes out there. Her eyes were an ever changing hazel, and her form shapely enough. Her fur which was normally sprinkled sand and tan was dark and damp now, her breast band and shorts damp as well from traveling in the rain for so long. Her dark brown hair which was in dreadlocks carried only beads of the rain that had escaped the grasps of the leafy cover above, though a tad frizzy from being damp for so long. All together she looked like an innocent enough traveler, with a small belt knife placed neatly in one of her pockets, and a brightly colored bracelet that bore the different colors of her birth clan, families status and name. She only kept such a thing to remind her of her past, and looking upon it now she frowned, distracted from her task to stand still and gaze down at her wrist, clearly wrapped up in thought as she had so often been on her long journey here. She hoped one day she would be able to elude the mesmerizing grasp of her bracelet, but for now she would remain trapped in its trance until she could pull herself back to the present and more pressing things. - Anselm de le Poer - 08-27-2008
It was a light breeze that bore new scents along with it that broke Rizuka of her trance, hazel eyes glancing up to only come upon what appeared to be a wolf in appearance. Caught by surprise of the fact that he had gotten so close to her without her even realising Rizu tensed up, snapping the string that held her beads together as she had been playing absently with it, sending her bright colored memory to scatter on the forest floor. Reaching out her hand to brace herself on a nearby tree as she lost balance and stumbled back she gazed down with a mixed look crossing her features; namely a frown as she considered picking up what remained of her only keep sake. Instead she looked to the caramel and crimson male who wore the form of a wolf. "Hey," she said rather tentatively, her ears flattening as she continued to rest her hand on the cool bark of the tree. "Do you, um," she began, looking toward where this stranger might have come from, "do you belong to the pack here?" Rizuka questioned, rather asking then guessing by scent if he was part of the pack that she wandered the borders of or not. She felt awkward having to ask such a thing, for she had never been faced with such a situation before, and she quickly hugged herself, rubbing her arms as she looked on with hazel eyes that had started to border on olive, seeming as if they wished to blend in with their surroundings as she wished to do so as well. It was quite unlike Rizuka to be so unsure of a situation, but it seemed there was a first time for everything. - Anselm de le Poer - 08-27-2008
She ducked her head down as he spoke, shy that he thought her uneasy when she had just been preoccupied. "You just caught me off guard, that's all." She said in way of explanation, dropping her arms down to her sides as she glanced down at the beads once more. Crouching down she picked up a red one that held an odd black symbold upon it, rolling it between her index finger and thumb as she remained crouched so she would not have to look down at Anselm, and he up at her as she offered a hint of a smile. "My name is Rizuka," she said in way of introduction, "most call me Rizu though. I was hoping to find a place to stay.." Rizu trailed off, glancing up at Anselm as she continued. "Perhaps you have room for me in Inferni? I don't plan on just freeloading of course, I'll earn my keep." She then neatly tucked the bead in her pocket, standing straight so her muscles would not cramp.
Rizu's eyebrow slowly rose as Anselm spoke, eyes a tad wide in surprise about what was currently going on in the area. She was not surprised about the news of wolves, she had not met many for her clan always seemed to avoid them, and they avoided her clan. She certainly wasn't going to base her thoughts on wolves just by what a complete stranger said, but it certainly gave her something to think about. "Seems like you've had your plate full," Rizuka commented, tempted to smile herself but refraining as she ran her finger down the seam in her shorts. She had a lot to consider about this place, but she was open to feeling it out for the time. It couldn't be worse then what had happened back home. "I'll give it a try," she finally said with a small grin. "I'm always up for a challenge." A bit of her old self was starting to peek through as she started to get used to Anselm, and her tail offered the smallest of wags as she looked out from under her lashes at the male. Time could only tell, and she was willing to spend some of it here to see if she had found herself a new home or not.
