- Cwmfen nic Graine - 11-15-2008 [html] http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j40/k ... mfenv2.png); background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Should this be set after the pack meeting? 500+ It was a November noon, yet the time seemed irrelevant in the colorless world. The thick, dreary clouds let enough sunlight through to the earth only so that the diurnal creatures could continue their days. The heavens seemed to threaten rain, or snow perhaps, but the biting, gelid air was not yet to freezing point, and the heavens remained silent. Nothing save for a teasing drizzle characterized the day. The cold and seemingly empty silence was broken not even by the birds. The world was silent, and yet, for those who were able to hear it, the song of the world played faintly upon the still air. A warrior was listening. Cwmfen found herself lying in the dying grasses of Flanders Field. The cold air was crisp, yet she found it to be a clarifying factor in her thoughts. The graves surrounded her, and the spirits seemed to hover, subdued, above their sepulcher. The black female lay within the confines of the forgotten graves which rose above her like foreboding edifices. The young woman, having donned her luperci form, listened to the life-song of the grey world about her, the white orbs half-lidded as the reveled in the requiem that seemed to distinguish her soul. Her expression as she listened to nature was empty, but there was some strange ferocity that seemed to contradict the usually shy disposition that was presented by the woad-marked female. With new acquaintances and with those she knew, the black fae was usually approachable. Yet, when left to her own thoughts, when left to solitude, the wildness that had consumed her in the last year before her joining of Dahlia de Mai resurfaced, a thing ready to rip out the throat of the offender. Yet, despite the belligerency that lay dormant within the graceful form, there was tranquility. The white gaze watched the lethargic traveling of the clouds. Her life was just as relaxed; she was floating in a sea of tranquility, wandering to some unknown and yet exciting end. The colourless day reminded Cwmfen of her meeting with DaVinci at the end of the summer season. He had been an interesting character—so bitter of his solitude. Cwmfen had given him advice—she had yet to follow it herself. The female wondered if DaVinci had found some solace; it would be wonderful if he had. A sigh escaped her slender maw, and yet she wondered for it. She was content with her life. Why now, did she suddenly feel so discontent? Perhaps she desired to love someone, to be tamed, as the hybrid had put it. Or, more likely, to be set free. A steady heartbeat, hot and strong, beat within her chest. This winter she would be mature, she speculated, and her body was curious of such things. But she was patient and steady, and could endure without promiscuity. The black female turned over on her stomach, the black, woad-banded aurals raised and alert. There was someone coming through the dim light and the crisp grasses, but the wind was unkind and took the scent from her. She was near the boarders of the pack, her attempt at helping Dahlia de Mai with the boarder patrol. But the approach was from within the pack, not from with out. - Firefly Sadira - 11-16-2008 The pack meeting had been just like every other meeting she'd been to besides the celebration of the holiday season. She had been appointed as a scout and that really didn't bother the woman, she liked to wander the lands and knowledge was never a bad thing to have. The girl yawned as she moved through the packlands, she figured that she might as well walk the borders for a while before heading out to find something to occupy her time since there was little going on within the lands today. Firefly stepped softly through the misty dim light, her paws quiet on the damn grasses of the popular field as she caught the scent of another in the area. She really hasn't spoken with many of her packmates and since Alexey had left she felt like she was all alone again. She hadn't missed the glaring looks that Haku's sister had dealt her at every turn as well she knew just how she made Slay feel, she'd made that happen herself.. but she hadn't thought that those she knew and actually looked upon as friends would disappear so suddenly. The only other remaining member of the pack was one that she'd only seen at the packmeeting and had actually surprised her. The accent reminded her of Eire and peeked her interest in finding out more about the dark hued woad marked woman. The sight of the other packmate made her grin dispite herself, it was the only packmember besides Haku was was even remotely interested in seeing and she figured that while she had her here she'd atleast find out how they shared accents so similar.. and where the woad marked lass had come from. Firefly held her own woad markings though they weren't as obvious as the strange packmate. Firefly paused a distance from the girl as she asked, her Irish accent soft as she asked. "Where were you from?" No name offered, none asked, just jumping right into their only common ground. - Cwmfen nic Graine - 11-19-2008 [html] http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j40/k ... mfenv2.png); background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> 500+ The one that appeared was not one that she expected, yet she had not expected any one in particular. The gait had matched none that she was familiar with, and she did not think that the other pack members would find reason to approach her. Despite her melancholy frame of mind, the young woman still preferred the solitude. Company was always welcome, but the seclusion of the mind never troubled her. The woman that approached she recognized from the pack meeting, and her scent was well dispersed through the lands of Dahlia de Mai. Yet, she could not remember the name of this emerald-eyed female. It was strange the things that one would remember and the things that one would forget. She was discontent by her inability to recall the name, but she was sure that she’d get it later. As the female paused in her travels a good distance away, Cwmfen flattened her ears, recognizing the higher rank of the female before her. Cercelee had said that often, continual submission was not required, and so, after the other spoke, the woad-banded aurals relaxed. A light smile graced the black fae’s maw. The accent was familiar, though not quite the same as her own. The question itself caught the black fae off guard, and she was silent for several moments as she tried to comprehend its context. Then, remembering their shared accent, the female was able to respond. "I hail from a place between Iceni and Catuvelauni territory—South of Caledonia...." The mellow, alto voice faded into the crisp air as the mind slipped into thought. While the northern section of the isle was considered Caledonia, the shared cultures of the packs allowed for them to be considered Caledonians as well. She was never certain from which pack her mother had been born from, but she believed it had been the Ordovices. It had been when Graine was scouting and hunting on her own that she encountered the crow-wolf, who seduced her—drew her in, then raped her... It was nearly seven moons ago when she herself had been victim of his whims. The female suppressed a shudder of fear and attempted to push back the memories that the past would harbor ever more. A meek smile crossed her maw. "And you?" She was perhaps just as curious as the lighter female. It was not every day that such a lilt was heard.... Yet she had heard a similar sound elsewhere. Another wolf in a time before... DaVinci, perhaps? The passage of time bid her forget, but she did believe that the hybrid had held a strange lilt as well. She considered that for a moment. Cwmfen remembered that the hybrid had mentioned that he had relations within the pack, but she couldn’t remember a stated name—perhaps there had been none. "I’m Cwmfen." She offered her name with a quiet, suave tone. The white orbs peered curiously at the other female, attempting to piece together the pieces that seemed to connect but did not yet fit together. The curiosity moved her to request from the other woman. "Forgive me, but I cannot seem to recall your name...?" The Caledonian lilt was soft in her alto tones, yet there was a hint of another culture on that tongue. - Firefly Sadira - 12-04-2008 Firefly often found herself alone, yet it wasn't out of a want or a need to be, generally just because she was. She would run into the packmates and family members from time to time but today she'd just been doing her newly presented duties when she'd come across the woad marked woman. Her emerald orbs had stared at the lass as she'd waited for a reply, taking in all the markings as she quietly took time to remember her own clan back east. She ddin't believe this girl had belonged to any of the ones of Ireland but it seemed that there was some connection just the same. She'd soon find out, she thought.. or maybe hoped. She was lonely for stories and tales of the old lands, not her lands by birth but she still belonged to them. When those muscial words came pouring from the other's maw a soft smile played upon her lips. She missed hearing the accent and just the words made her want to weep as she turned the words over in her mind, gathering from her own history of the Gaels as she finally piped up. "Alba?" for her clan had still called the lands by their rightful name, or atleast one of them. She was uncertain thought if the territory was of Alba's lands, the scattered islands between her homeland and that north and east to her were many. She wished for the old castle and the ones her age running and taunting and teasing. She'd never been good at some of those childish games but she'd liked to watch.. once upon a time. The small smile that greeted her was weakly returned as she was questioned in turn. She flicked her ears back as she answered honestly. "Born across the mountain.. in the pack of Storm." She shook her head, knowing that wasn't what the woman wanted but she was quiet a moment longer as she tried to gather herself. "I was adopted in one of the clans of Eire, along with my brother and sister though.." she flicked her orbs off towards the sea as she admitted. "I miss it there.." the words were wistful as she sighed. Either the want to hear the musical voices of far away was strong.. or she was just growing to be a kinder soul, but whatever the reason Firefly was not acting herself today. She was offered a name and Firefly couldn't help but smile as she graced the lass with her own. "Firefly Sadira, or Tine Cuileog.. depending on who you ask.." No one here called her by the latter except DaVinci from time to time but to hear the words on her tongue brought another small smile to her maw. Such simple pleasures yet so far from home. Maybe Leland was right and she didn't really belong here but in her mind it was too late for that. - Cwmfen nic Graine - 12-06-2008 [html] http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j40/k ... mfenv2.png); background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> 500+ Alba. The black auds pricked forward at the sound of that word. She did not know to what lands ‘Alba’ referred to, but she new that word in another context. "That’s ‘white’ in the Latin language, you know—‘alba’, that is." Perhaps it was a random comment, but the woad-marked female found herself thinking of such things these days—things that had no apparent reason. She was wandering in the world without any purpose. Perhaps she’d find one soon—someone to tame her wild heart, as DaVinci so deftly put it. She wondered then if she even desired to be tamed, or if she merely desired to be loved. To the black female, they were two very different things. Shaking her head at herself, Cwmfen returned her attention to the higher-ranking female. "Storm," the silver-toned alto repeated with a smile. That was a pack’s name—one she recognized from her mother’s stories. "One of my ancestors was of Clouded Tears—briefly, at least." She hoped that she wasn’t confusing time periods. She thought that perhaps if green-eyed wolf was a native of these lands, that she’d know perhaps the history of it. But the black female didn’t know why she was so curious. Did origin matter in the end? She thought it did. But why? "Ah, so you’re from across the pond. Do your siblings live here as well?" The alto’s lilt held a lighthearted mirth. The black tail wagged several times as she smiled across to the other female. The white orbs peered over, studying her with newfound interest. She admitted that it was indeed intriguing to find someone of similar heritage. While the green-eyed woman was not a native of Hibernia, she did have culture there, and she would thus regard her as a Hibernian. She herself had experienced enough culture-prejudice for her mixed blood, and she would not place it in turn upon this female. "Indeed," the Caledonian continued, sighing in turn. "It is a beautiful country there.... And yet it is so far across the sea...." The white orbs turned to the east, gazing in the direction of her homeland. " Tine Cuileog seems to suit you more." Of course, the name meant Fire Fly in the Irish, but there was a different tone—she saw different colours in her mind—when she heard those words. She considered, however, the name Firefly. She felt that she had heard it before, but it was an obscure memory. Cwmfen suddenly thought of DaVinci, for the hybrid’s accent was similar to this female’s. Yet, they had no apparent resemblance, which, of course, meant nothing. She wondered, however, if there was a connection here, but she did not pry. "Have you taken up Scouting?" Having randomly remembered Dahlia de Mai’s October meeting, Cwmfen decided to change the subject. "I have yet to seek out Slay...." Her words seemed irrelevant. She seemed irrelevant. Once more her social awkwardness became prevalent in her character, and she hoped that the other did not mind. Yet, she had observed Firefly’s behavior at the pack meeting, and somehow she felt that the other could be verbally aggressive. Yet, she seemed in a amicable mood at the moment. How long would it last? - Firefly Sadira - 12-11-2008 Firefly frowned at the words she was offered but she should have figured that not everyone would call the landsmasses by the same names. She herself had heard hundreds of different ones for her Ireland. She flicked her ears back and tried to remember other names that the lands to the north had been referred to as. "Scotland? Britian? Norway?" she hated the most current names to the lands, they sounded so bare of life, so stark and commanding. A male must have laid claim to the lands, they tended to name everything they could pee on after themselves.. why she would never know. She shook her head as she smiled sadly. "We weren't much for learning the ways of the rest of the world.. just ours." IT might have been a sad truth but atleast they were honest about it. She didn't feel any need to apologize so she didn't, she never apologized.. not to stranger too often. Her ears pricked forward again as the ebony lass gave way to the name of a pack she probably knew nothing of but was politely listening to Firefly speak about. Yet it seemed that the woman was filled with surprises as she spoke of Clouded Tears and old ancestors. Firefly had never known any from Clouded Tears except DaVinci and Laruku, and of course her mother but she couldn't pick their minds at the moment. "My brother and mother grew up in Clouded Tears, they'd know more about him I'd think, or atleast there's a chance they would.." she said thoughtfully for a moment before admitting. "I'd have to ask DaVinci or Mother..." Firefly had listened to a million and one stories of Clouded Tears but the long nights on ship and overseas had been filled with many stories and names soo became jumbled and comfused in her mind as she'd aged and come into her teenage aireheaded bliss. Firefly was uncertain just how helpful either could be but she could send the exotic lady on a mad witch hunt for either of the two, they both resided in the same lands, as strange as it was since their own mother had tried to kill him once upon a time.. but that was DaVinci's worry and choice, not her's. Her thoughts fluttered away again as the lilted voice rang out with such melody that she couldn't help but relaxing, her own tail giving a soft wag as she nodded in agreement to the words of the packmate. "DaVinci and Magdalena live in Phoenix Valley" she said softly, realizing just then that her elder half siblings had both gone back to mother. She really must find out what posessed DaVinci to want to be so close to the silver and gold lady. A lot of Firefly's dislike for her mother came from her actions towards DaVinci as well as how she'd let her previous mate manipulate her life so. The woman was strong, Firefly could admit that, but she gave too much of herself away for 'happiness' in the perfect little heartshaped box. Her heart had begun to tug as the other woman agreed to the truth, the call for home was so strong and yet they both seemed anchored here. Eyes were both turned towards the east as Firefly sighed softly. "She'll always call so strongly.. and yet be so far away." she said wistfully before asking. "What keeps you away from home.." She didn't know if Cwmfen considered the land across the sea home but something inside Firefly would always see the green lands home... besides Storm was gone now, might as well have a real place to look to. That was always a grand thing, to know where one belonged. And yet with knowing there came being known. Cwmfen spoke of her Eire name as she smiled softly. Ducking her head and shrugging as she tried to pass it off as nothing Firefly just admitted. "There was reason behind my name, or so they keep telling me." The obvious reason had been the tone of her coat yet she'd been told stories of a silly pup that had a love for bugs and how Iskata had taken him in. Somehow he'd graced her mother with the name Firefly Lady.. and when the pups were born she'd inherited it from the mory. It wasn't as grand as some other bits of hystory others might have but it was enough. Their conversation seemed to suddenly shift back to the current world and their current lands as she was asked about her new position within the pack. Firefly nodded as she gazed along the edge of the lands. "The lands are so quiet lately but I have. It's as if after everything that happened this summer.. we live in a ghost town." It was so true, the lands once thriving were down to so few and the fights and bickering seemed none existance to what she believed. Even Haku seemed more relazed, less tense.. the darkness calmed somewhat in his soul. That was a bit of a dull moment for the lady but she knew how to work the male into a frenzy when she wanted to.. atleast in one way or another. Was there any reason for the ways she drove him to madness, no, but they made her life more interesting. The bronze and gold lady was so bored for something to happen as of lately that it seemed she too had mellowed out. She was the agresssor in most ways but she could be playful and sweet when she wanted, which was far and few between. The exotic beauty before her seemed to have one of those rare cases where her inner fight with doubt and emotion had driven her to a calm in the storm and until the whirling madness that seemed to follow Haku returned perhaps she'd stay resonable for a bit.. or not. Life was a quickly changing thing and in the blink of an eye one never knew what was next. - Cwmfen nic Graine - 12-23-2008 [html]
- Firefly Sadira - 12-28-2008 Firefly just shook her head at the stupid questions they were throwing back and forth about masses of land across the big blue. Sighing to herself she just smirked, "Nevermind, it's not like it really matters, we both knew where we were from.. doesn't matter if the other knows where that was.. unless we decided to return one day.." She didn't mind that idea, returning to Ireland was always a slight thought on the back of her mind, and if Cwmfen wanted to tag along for the ride she wouldn't blame the girl. Stupid childish dreams they were but no one else had to know what she was dreaming, it wasn't like the blue woad woman could read her mind. The strangely patterned woman who's patterns weren't that strange to the eyes of the bronze and gold lass seemed to become even more interested in Firefly, something she realized that she should not encourage. Firefly had enough fellows who seemed to want to find every little shadow on her dark little soul, adding one that wanted to find some ray of sunshine would not help either. She flicked her tail softly as she shook her head with a raised brow. "No, perhaps I could direct you to them.. but I tend to stay away from mother dearest.. and I doubt my brother would remember much outside of puppy thoughts." She didn't want to put the other down but she really really hated having to come face to face with her mother who was so different from the darker hued Sadira that it almost seemed unreal that they were related. She shook her head again in disgust at the thought of going to Phoenix Valley. She was mildly surprised at how fast the woman's trail of thoughts changed from the ghostly pack to her brother and how interested she seemed in him. Raising a brow as she scowled at the lady she asked. "Why are you so interested in my brother?" She could think of a few reason why any girl could be, but DaVinci was her brother, more a father figure than anything, and he was not a family member she would bed. Not that she'd even thought of bedding another since she'd taken to taunting and tormenting Haku in and out of the bedchambers. There was were a few family members she might consider but Ember had blown her chances with announcing so brilliantly just who she was. Waving away the thoughts of her sibling she rolled her eyes. "I'm not certain I even want to know.." she said under her breath as Cwmfen moved on. They were returned again to the world beyond and yet it was forcused on Cwmfen's life and not Firefly's, which seemed to be more interesting than she let on. Slipping on her story she tried to clear it all up with a strong ending of how she couldn't return. Firefly narrowed her eyes slightly as she decided to ignore the painful memories that the other was trying to leave behind her. If she wanted to bury her past Firefly wasn't going to stop her, unless her past came back to haunt them all. She turned her face away for a moment as the woman got herself together. Firefly could return anytime she wanted except for her stupid stubborn ways and how she believed that she could keep a promise to a woman she hated. Perhaps she really just hated the woman that much to prove her wrong in what she thought of her daughter but she wasn't going to focus on that anymore. Her ears swivelled back as the black and blue wonder asked her a question. Turning her eyes to follow her ears she bared her fangs slightly. "We went to war for all the wrong reasons.. and in the end not a damn thing was accomplished." It was a pity that they'd all went to war following in the pawprints of the male who had set to avenging his sibling, only to make it worse for the whole pack. She shook her head at the idea and asked. "Really that interested in our mistakes..or our blind faith? or whatever it might be.." She wasn't really forcertain what in the hell it was but atleast the pack had something. - Cwmfen nic Graine - 12-29-2008 [html]
- Firefly Sadira - 12-29-2008 Firefly picked at the long guard hairs along her tail as her emerald eyes studied the woman before her. At the mention of never being able to return Firefly smiled lightly and just shrugged. "Then we are destin' to dream forever of distant shores and live our halflives here as mere mortals" She dropped the game of playing with the silvery gold strands that laced her hide as she stretched and decided that it was best to just follow suit of the other female and linger about and relax. There was no reason to go on about her duties today, it was highly unlikely that anything would happen or be of interest until nightfall. Letting lose a jaw cracking yawn Firefly snapped her teeth shut and smiled at the dark hued woman. Settling in opposite of the other female Firefly watched the ivory orbs watching her as a mild silence settled over them. She knew that the pack gossipped and she figured that the word had spread to Cwmfen already about the golden bronze lass. She let her eyes drift shut as Cwmfen began to speak of DaVinci, she wanted to laugh at how the woman believed that he had found a place for himself, a smirk spread across her lips as she did admit lightly. "I can bet it's safe to say he's still broading and contemplating the cruelities of life." DaVinci would always find something to broad over, or life would always give him something. It was like the boy lived in a world where once he got over one hurdle another mountain stood in his way. DaVinci would always be climbing to the top only to find himself on the bottom again. Running her tongue across her fangs as she chuckled at the sad thought Firefly flicked her gaze to the other as she smiled. "Don't assume he's found his place just yet." She might like her hybrid brother better than any other family member outside her lover but she knew that in some twisted little way DaVinci would never be happy wherever he was at, he was neither wolf nor coyote and he couldn't find the fine line between where others could see him and not what he was. She shook her head and rubbed her nails across her muzzle, thinking slightly on her strange brother's obsession with making other's see through his stormy orbs. Her ears rotated forward as the other woman turned towards their subject of war. Firefly grinned towards the woman as she spoke of the history of the world. She flicked her ears back after thinking on what she said before crossing her forelimbs and smiling smugly as she laughed. "Well, think of it thisway.. Our life here has only begun, we're not doomed to repeat history just yet, just doomed to make it." Her eyes twinkled with dark humor at the facts of life. - Cwmfen nic Graine - 12-31-2008 [html]
- Firefly Sadira - 01-04-2009 The words of the dark hued beauty made her flash her fangs as she smiled. Firefly, named after a creature who's life was but a brief blink in the eyes of their kind craved something more than the mortal, atleast considering how suddenly their lives could be cast from them. She figured that if forced to live the life of a mortal she would make herself seem immortal, a feat she learned wasn't as hard to concoct than she'd originally assumed. Her life was still a little bare and still a little boring from time to time but she figured that she might find a way to make things a bit more interesting. "Who ever said we'd be fleeing death.." she said with a smirk as she wondered why everyone seemed to think that they feared death, she did not, though if she lived to see forever perhaps she would seek out death in the end.. it was a thought, what if in the end death turned it's back to you. She watched idly as the woad marked warrior seemed to find some satisfaction in the final destruction of the autumn dry leaf. The smirk that always seemed to play across her maw was missing for a moment as she watched the other, wondering why she was indeed so concerned for her halfblood sibling. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she realized that those orbs had turned towards her now. Firefly's inner discontentment wasn't on the agenda today, nor would it ever be except between the male and herself. They would burn the bridge and rebuilt over and over again, passion fighting with her other heated rash emotions as Haku brought the best and the worst out of the woman. She pushed the thoughts aside as Cwmfen began to speak uo, her words making Firefly raise a brow as she scuffed. "You actually believe that?" She knew part of her brother's unhappiness and she knew the last roadblock wasn't anything he could control. She shook her head and sighed, her doubt in the other's belief's were clear as day. "Sometimes the only choice left is what makes us find ourselves surrounded by unhappiness. So.. I guess if that is the only choice then we do make our own unhappiness come true." She knew she was twisting the words of the other woman but to live with a belief that everything could bring about happiness in the end if you made the right choice.. she knew irony was a powerful beast.. and irony seemed to like to linger in DaVinci's life. She just shook her head as Cwmfen tried again and again to turn her thoughts but she just smiled that warped little smile that swore there was more to it yet never let one know just what it was. "He's found something alright.. but I don't think he's waiting on himself to catch up.." The tip of her tail flicked back and forth as she grinned at the misty orbed woman as she just stretched out her limps and flicked the crushed pieces of leaf away. "Perhaps you should go ask him yourself though.. maybe I don't know him as well as I think I do." She knew DaVinci, she knew him well enough to even know when he wasn't telling her the whole truth. She didn't pursue him on the subjects though, she'd learned in the end he'd come around and he always did.. this time though she'd stayed far away from the topic at hand, knowing well enough that she didn't need pulled into his love affairs, mysterious new arrival of unknown children and the pack their mother co-lead. She'd rather stay far far away from there. It might be interesting enough, but she could fix her own boredom without weaseling into his little world. When Cwmfen turned back to the history of their little pack and the subject of repeated doom or glory she chuckled. "If everyone else is doomed to repeat history, then the making of history would be a form of doom itself, except we're privledged to not having to repeat our mistakes. Just make them the first time." Her dark grin was enough to show that she found amusement in how they moved about in their little world. She grew quiet a moment as Cwmfen spoke of them being artists since they were the designers of this knew strange place. Sweeping a paw across the grounds she left a blank white canvas before them as she spoke. "If we're artists.. we're going to have a lot of work cut out before us to make this into a masterpiece.." She could imagine what her world would look like but she knew it probably would clash dramatically with the next soul. Shaking her head she raised her orbs from the clear surface of the winter snow as she wondered what Cwmfen saw in all of this. |
