Lysander’s smile at the boy was real. More and more as the two little toys talked with him, he was amazed at the young boys he kept. Their emerging personalities were a wonderful thing to watch unfold, and Ly liked to think that his “parenting skills” had something to do with that. Oliver and Jake were fine young men, plus their small children speech always put a smile on the husky’s lips. Words from their mouth sounded much cuter than words from anyone else’s. Still, even little Oliver’s comforting words did not keep the smile too long, he was worried about Jake. “Well, I wish Jakie wouldn’t hide on me. It’s nerve-wrackin’’.” Lysander stared down at the tiny bit of venison left in his hands. Of course, as he did most nights he gave the boys, or tonight just the boy, first pick of the meat but Ly had lost his appetite and couldn’t finish. He was too worried. What if something happened to Jake? Further more, what if Conor told on him? What if they came away to take away Emwe? Lysander had closed up the cabin and locked the door, and he sat with his back to the window, his bulk blocking out any onlooker’s view of Emwe. Still, Conor’s scent clearly led away from his cabin, and though he had tracked the boy for a while at one point he had to return to Oliver. He still had one pup to care for. “Ya want anymore?” He held the meat out to pudgy little Oliver and smiled. He liked watching the boy eat and Lysander was always reminded of the story of the old witch fattening up the children to eat, but he never said so. He didn’t like to tell Oliver and Jake scary stories, he only told them about butterflies and rainbows and kitty cats. “Ya want a story before bed little sir?” - Emwe Soul - 03-27-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>

One more Emwe post then Alexey can jump in? “Nerve-wrackin’.” Lysander confirmed the pup’s pronunciation, even if it wasn’t completely spot on. “Conundrum. Jake missin’ is such a conundrum.” He gave the boy another word, he liked teaching them things, though it felt a little pointless with Conor missing. He hoped the boy would find his way back home, but if he had to settle for one of the two, at least he still had Emwe. Oliver was less trouble than Jake anyway. They both were curious and constantly asking questions, but Conor challenged Ly more than Emwe, and sometimes Ly couldn’t come up with answers fast enough. He smiled, opening up one of the floor board and putting the venison away. They could eat it for breakfast. Steel gray eyes, matching his smoky gray pelt, twinkled as Oliver described the story he wanted. Lysander couldn’t help but chuckled, the story idea amused him, it was a good plot. It would have scared him, if Ly didn’t know that Conor’s fate was more likely to be eaten by a coyote or rouge wolf, or starve to death, but he wouldn’t think about that. He’d just go searching for Conor again in the morning, maybe take Emwe with him then. “Alright, alright, let’s see… Well little naughty Jake decided to go off on his own one day, and much to his dismay the day quickly turned to night, the sun extinguished itself and a blanket of darkness quickly took over Phoenix Valley. Little Jake hadn’t been out in the night by himself before, uncle Ly made sure good boys were in bed before then, but naughty little Jake decided he was too scared. That is until he heard something followin’ him…” Ly lowered his voice, hoping to build the suspense, although of course Emwe already knew the end of this story. “Crunch, creak, crack. Those were the noises Jakie heard and when he turned around not only did he see glowing red eyes, but a big mouth of razor teeth, drippin’ with salvia.” Lysander paused, wondering if perhaps this story was getting too scary for Emwe, but he had started it, he needed to finish it. ”SNAP! Om nom nom. The great big bear gobbled up Jake in one bite. In the morning uncle Ly and Oliver went looking for naughty Jake, but all they found as a big of bones. They never saw little Jake again.” There, the story was concluded, and like most of his stories it had a good morel. “So you see Oliver, it’s much safer staying inside here, no bears in the cabin.” He lifted up the floor board, revealing the biggest compartment. It might seem empty now, with Conor missing, but Ly had been just a little more hay in there for the boy, now that his brothers wasn’t there to keep him warm. “Ready for bed little sir?” He gestured to the hole in the floor and smiled fondly at the child. He was the good one anyway, Ly decided it would be okay if they didn’t find Conor. - Emwe Soul - 03-28-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
- Alexey Koios - 03-30-2009 [html] OMGIMSRY4THEWAIT&SUCKINESS. 300+ Alexey had spent quite some time wondering how she’d react upon retrieving Dahlia’s youngest members. It definitely wasn’t an easy thing to predict; all depended on the circumstances she was presented with. They were already three months old now. Oh, how time flew! How much had they grown during their absence? The children had more than likely developed their own personality by now, so which one was the little rebel? Had they already forgotten about their birth pack? Endless questions paired with unfounded insecurities were driving the caregiver on the verge of insanity. Extensive research led her to Phoenix Valley once again. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust DaVinci’s flair but it had dawned on her sometime after their conversation that she actually knew the pups, and he didn’t. It wouldn't hurt if she took a guided tour of the pack lands, right? However, Alexey didn’t even have time to call for the sub leader; a scent all too familiar caught her attention before she could do so. Conor; it was him. There was no doubt about it. No hesitation was given before stepping over the border and venturing into forbidden territory. Rules and regulations meant nothing to her now. Not when it came to rescuing children that belonged to Dahlia de Mai. Conor’s trail, growing fainter by the second, led her to a little cabin. Where one puppy’s smell seemed to fade, the other one’s became more imposing. What the hell was going on? Although Emwe and Conor weren’t her own children, Alexey became as dangerous as an enraged mother. Her upper lip was already curled into a nasty snarl; a blunt warning to whoever felt like opposing her. Her attempt at using the door knob was futile, so she went for plan B. “Open the damn door, you bastard!” she screamed, promptly clenching her right hand into a fist and taking a swing at the wooden door. Where the tawny woman found the strength to actually put a dent into the wood was a mystery. But she did. And she didn’t plan on stopping. - Lysander - 04-01-2009 [html] http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7228 ... bottom.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Obediently the chubby child climb into the hole, curling up and contenting to sleep. “Goodnight Oliver, sweetest dreams!” And he pulled the covering over the hole, smiling to himself. Yes, the child was a good one, he was proud even. Laying his head flat against the floor he could barely hear breathing on the other side, but he waited and waited, patiently and happy, until the breathing became even, shallow and nearly impossible to hear. The boy was asleep and Ly pulled himself to the side happily. Grabbing up the deer skin Whinnifred had gifted him, he made his own bed and shut his eyes, thinking about Conor and what to do about the missing child. The loud banging startled him and he got up with a start. Steel eyes moved to the door, no one came for him so late, and certainly not so angrily. The women’s voice on the other side was unrecognizable, and he muttered to himself pulling himself up and towards the door. “Who is knock, knock, knockin’ at my door?” Lysander said this out loud, loud enough for Emwe to hear if he had awakened, and it was a signal. A signal for the child to remain quite while Lysander disposed of their visitor, who might be a threat to the child, or so Ly had told them. Opening the door wide he came face to face with the angry women, knowing full well that she could see inside him completely empty cabin. Aside from the deer skin he had just been asleep on, the floor, walls and everything was bare. The bulky husky stood over her, he was rather tall in his luperci form, and peered down at the dent in his door, rubbing his chin calmly. “Well now, what’s this? A midnight mistress who goes about causin’ property damage? Hmm.” His words were even, almost warm, and his eyes twinkled amusedly. What did she want? - Emwe Soul - 04-01-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
- Alexey Koios - 04-02-2009 [html] Slight PP. Let me know if you want it changed Kris. <3 300+ Alexey was about to give that door another piece of her mind when it suddenly opened, revealing a well-built male with strange markings. Definitely not someone she’d met before. It took a whole lot of willpower not to bop him on the nose right then and there, if she could even reach that far. Whoever this husky was, his physical built gave him the upper hand. But amazingly enough, it mattered very little to the caregiver. She’d spent what seemed like an eternity searching for those boys and now that she was so close to finding them, it was going to take more than a beefy male to stop her. His behavior was what irked her the most. Oh, he needed to just drop the act and hand over the kids. “Shut up,” she ordered, pushing past him and entering his barren home. It was empty, aside from the deer skin on the floor. Alexey spun around to meet the man’s gaze; confusion and self-doubt were expressed through her amber-colored eyes. Something wasn’t right. They were nowhere to be seen but she could definitely smell at least one of them. “I know they’re around here somewhere,” she started, her eyes burning with hatred. “Why don’t you spare yourself a whole lot of trouble and give them to me, unless you want all of Dahlia de Mai knocking at your door.” Her comment was paired with a grimace. He disgusted her. This mutt was no better than a pedophile. Lexey sincerely hoped he hadn’t brought any harm to the Lillium’s children. She didn’t wait for him to reply before calling out their names, trusting one of them would remember her. “Emwe? Conor? Where are you guys?” If that didn’t work, she would have to call for DaVinci. - Lysander - 04-06-2009 [html] http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7228 ... bottom.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> The angry women pushed past him and straight into his home. For a moment Ly wondered if he should be upset or offended, but decided against both. Instead he gave her his most charming smile, his arm sweeping the room. “Welcome to my home, miss.” He ignored her command to shut up, just as he hoped Emwe would ignore her calls. So far he was being a good boy, and Lysander was so proud, he had taught him well. Later he would have to get Emwe a present for being so good. “Excuse me, Dahlia de what?” His voice was still warm, friendly. It wasn’t as if she could tear through his home searching for the children, he had nothing for her to tear through. “Who are ya searching for anyway? Maybe I can help ya look.” He knew she was only going to shout and scream more, maybe even throw in a few insults, but Lysander was a gentlemen and always ready to help out a lady. - Emwe Soul - 04-12-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
- Alexey Koios - 04-13-2009 [html]
Oh, she wasn’t a happy camper. And this male was making things worse by playing stupid. He wasn’t really a brainless idiot, Alexey knew that much. Sneaking into Dahlia de Mai and leaving without a trace required plenty of skills; as a matter of fact, she still couldn’t understand how he’d managed to do such a thing without getting caught. It was nearly impossible. Plenty of questions raced through her mind. Why had he kidnapped the pups in the first place? The Caregiver ignored his “Dahlia de what?” inquiry, refusing to waste saliva over the likes of him. When he offered to help her find whoever it was she was searching for, a growl rose in the back of her throat. That filthy dog was infuriating! Before she could even react, scratching came from below. She took a step back, amber gaze moving to the floor boards. Her eyes were wide with shock, her face now flushed with rage. “That’s who I’m looking for. Get him out of there.” she ordered, her tone of voice dangerously low. She could’ve lifted the floor board herself, but she was giving him a chance to comply. If he refused, she’d take the pups and let the Lillium himself come back and finish this. Lexey kneeled to the floor and attempted to find the compartment on her own, calling out to little Emwe below. It was clear now that Conor wasn’t being kept in the same place; his scent wasn’t strong enough. She’d question his whereabouts once she retrieved the other child. “Emwe,” she started, her tone of voice a little softer now. “Lexey’s gonna take you to mummy and daddy.” - Lysander - 04-13-2009 [html] http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7228 ... bottom.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> The whimpers and scratching from the floor boards were unmistakable as a puppy in distress. With his cover blown, Lysander freely chose a few choice words to swear under his breath as he moved in between the women and the moving floor board. “ Go back to sleep Oliver!” His voice boomed with authority, his eyes glared down at the women. No way was she of all people going to take his pup from him. He had worked hard keeping them alive, feeding them, playing with them, protecting them... all that hard work for what? Some looney lady to come and sweep him away? And so soon after losing Conor? It was not fair and he would not go down without a fight. “Get out of my house now.” He took a threatening step towards her, his lips slowly uncovering the pearly fangs. Shifted, his claws were longer and sharper than normal, and his was bigger, that was an advantage, but he didn’t really want to hurt her. Not if he didn’t have to. And certainly not in front of the boy. He would never want Emwe thinking badly of him, not in a million years. - Emwe Soul - 04-18-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
- Alexey Koios - 04-22-2009 [html]
Oliver? Amber-colored eyes flared up with distinct anger. Had he renamed the kids? How dare he! The husky’s demeanor changed completely, he’d gone from amiable to enraged within a split second. Alexey’s mouth dropped open as he took a threatening step forward. Never would she have expected the dumb-looking male to become so imposing. What had she gotten herself into? Dreyrugr’s words suddenly came flooding back to her. This was exactly why he rarely allowed her to leave the pack lands by herself. Lexey was not a fighter, unlike Dahlia de Mai’s Adonis. She barely knew how to defend herself! However, the rage boiling inside of her was intense enough to wash away all signs of fear. Emwe and Conor belonged with their parents, not this psycho. “His name’s Emwe,” she spat, a hint of indignation and annoyance behind the words spoken. What kind of name was Oliver anyway? Alexey grimaced, showing her distaste for the child’s new name. From her kneeling position, the idiot dog seemed even more dangerous. Alexey had to look up to meet his gaze, and that’s when she noticed the ugly snarl on his face. “I’ll leave once you give me the kid,” she countered, mimicking his expression by displaying her fangs too. She was about to stand up when a loud whimper came from below. Emwe’s scratching made it easy to pinpoint his location and Alexey attempted to move around the man standing between her and the pup. It was pointless. Without his consent, it was unlikely that she’d get her hands on the child. “You sicken me! Get him out of there or I’m calling DaVinci!” she threatened, her voice almost hysterical. Oh she planned on making quite a scene. - Lysander - 04-30-2009 [html] http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7228 ... bottom.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> The woman was fussing, the boy was fussing and neither of them indicated that they’d shut up soon. The two of them were giving him a headache. The woman and her silly threats, Lysander laughed sincerely at the idea of calling DaVinci. The man was a clown, just like every other being in this pack. But little Oliver was growing more frightened and uncomfortable as the moments passed so Lysander strode over to the women and knocked her out of the way, kneeling down to open up the floorboard that revealed Emwe squirming inside. Holding the child close to his chest, Lysander looked over the boy’s head at the women, knowing she couldn’t snatch him just right out of his arms. Conor was gone, he did not want to give up Emwe. Firefly would one day come back for them, but the idea of just leaving these lands with the boy was still floating about. His voice softened, became genuinely warm and comforting towards the boy. “Oliver, my little sir, do ya know this women? She wants ya to go with her.” His eyes went back up to the Dahlia female and he glowered. - Emwe Soul - 05-01-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
- Alexey Koios - 05-05-2009 [html]
Although she’d expected some kind of reaction from the male, she hadn’t expected him to actually get physical and knock her over. Alexey remained on the floor, watching the male’s every movement with utter shock. Then he finally obliged and did what she’d requested. A wave of relief washed over her as little Emwe came into view. He was okay. Honey-hued eyes scanned his body from head to toe. There were no signs of physical abuse. And from the way he snuggled up to the brawny husky, she could only assume that he wasn’t emotionally scarred either. Lexey didn’t know what to think of it. He wasn’t supposed to like his kidnapper. Things had turned in the male’s favor. She couldn’t physically assault him because he was using the Lillium’s child as his shield. Snatching the child from him was not an option either. There was no time to seek help from Haku either, so she had to hear him out and reason with him. The husky referred to the puppy as “Oliver” once again, and Lexey couldn’t help but flinch as the young one replied. Had Emwe forgotten his own name? He certainly had forgotten Alexey’s. It was a little saddening to hear it. And in all honesty, it hurt. A lot. Tears were building up behind her eyelids. Her anger had been replaced by heartache. What could she say now? He had the child in his arms, and Emwe wasn’t helping her out. “Don’t you want to come home with me, Emwe?” - Lysander - 05-09-2009 [html] http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7228 ... bottom.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Lysander hugged the child close to him, loving both the feeling of the small boy clinging to him and the desperation in the face of the women. “Silly boy, this is home.” His tone was playful, he knew the arguing was distressing the boy. His stone eyes danced over the women, who was now nearly pleading with the puppy to take her side. It gave him a certain kind of satisfaction. Just because perhaps the puppies belong there in Dahlia de Mai rather than in Phoenix Valley, they all assumed the puppynapper was a cold hearted creature who would have treated the children poorly. He had treated like princes. Lysander could drag it out, make it more miserable for the women, and that is what he intended. Turning his body so Emwe was even further out of reach, he sneered at her, but kept his voice calm and even for the sake of the boy. “Do ya even know his favorite food? His favorite game? Favorite bed time story?” Lysander had learned a lot about the children with the time spent with them. Perhaps much more than their parents had known. He hoped Emwe sincerely saw it fit to stay with him, keeping the boy against his will would break Ly’s heart. - Emwe Soul - 05-20-2009 [html] .thing { color:#dadada; line-height:15px; } </style>
