Sorry for the delay!! 400+ Ehno wasn’t sure why he was out here, wandering about in the pouring rain. The only excuse he could come up with for his behavior was that he was simply patrolling the borders as he tended to do. All he was certain of was that he couldn't sit idly around the house. Either his feet or his mind had to wander, and he couldn't handle the stray thoughts that had been assaulting his mind any longer. He trailed along the borders of the pack territory, feet dragging along the muddy ground. The Italian man kept his eyes forward, determined to pay attention to his surroundings rather than the paths his thoughts wandered along. He didn’t realize how rain soaked his form had become until he reached the partial shelter of the more heavily forested part of the borders. A relatively fresh scent then caught his attention, leading straight out of Crimson Dreams. It was the familiar scent of his sister, and without a second thought he found himself following the trail through the forest. He hadn’t seen or spoken to her for very long after the pack meeting. He didn’t care if she had some important goal for being out here in the rain; he just wanted to see her and talk to her. Maybe together they could make sense of this whole situation they had been thrown into. When he finally caught up with her, the sight shocked him. Sobs penetrated the air and her form was curled inward as if to block out the world. He immediately rushed toward her, kneeling beside her and wrapping his arms around her in a protective and comforting embrace. “Savina…” The rain-scented air was tainted with the metallic tang of blood. He was even more alert now, eyes widening and ears perking. Amber eyes searched her form for any wounds, hoping that the blood he scented was not hers. Not a moment later he spotted the injury and panic seized him briefly. She had been attacked, but thankfully she didn’t seem to be too terribly harmed. Who could have done this to her? He stared at the wound on her arm, frowning. "Lei sanguina..."It was a statement of fact, as if voicing it out loud would somehow make it stop. Only then did he notice the scent, a trace of something familiar that awoke the angry part of his brain. It was only a moment before he recognized it as scent of the intruder from weeks ago. Ehno’s frown deepened, but his tone remained soft. "Ciò che è successo?" How did she get hurt? Why was she crying? He wanted to know about all that ailed his sibling, whether the pain was physical or emotional. - Savina Marino - 07-22-2009 [html]

300+ Ehno felt sorrow and worry build up in his chest until the pressure became so great that he thought he would suffocate. His sister held onto him tightly and he responded by holding her just as tight. He wouldn’t let her go. He would remain there and protect her until she felt safe again, until the unbearable world became a place she could feel comfortable in once more. Seeing his sibling like this pained him greatly, brotherly instincts telling him to fight off whatever threat had left her sobbing in the forest like this. He closed his eyes and leaned against her, loosening his embrace slightly only so that he could rub her back in a placating manner. Minutes ticked by while they sat like this, though it felt like an eternity. Eventually Savina managed to calm herself, if only a little bit. Some part of his mind distantly realized that his fur was now wet with both the rain and her tears. His sister’s explanation came shakily, hindered by both her previous sobs and the calmer tears that continued to wet her emerald orbs. The Marino instinctively held his sibling tighter as she revealed what had happened, confiding in him her insecurities. He was shocked by all of her words, but he refused to let it show as he was determined to be strong for Savina right now. She needed him now, and he would not falter, though on the inside his thoughts were reeling. Kansas knew? He knew about that dangerous drug Naniko had brought into their home and did nothing about it? If the pale man had done something about it their ex-leader could have been stopped, and his own daughter would not have had to go through that frightening ordeal. The thought disgusted and confused him. He couldn’t understand his brother-in-law’s actions. But Ehno dwelled no longer on that, thoughts turning quickly to his sister’s insecurities. He never would have suspected she felt that way at all. "Ciò non dice. Lei non è indegno," he whispered. "Lei merita solo il meglio. Nessuno lasciarla fa sente altrimenti." These words were firmer, but filled with love and reassurance. - Savina Marino - 07-24-2009 [html]

Aw, these two are gonna need a happy brother-sister thread at some point to counteract all this drama. XD 300+ His sister still took in shaky breaths as if she were still on the brink of sobbing once more. She remained calm enough to softly utter more of her surprising thoughts. "Sono sicuro che era felice per lei, Savina. Lei e Kansas sono troppo buono per l'un l'altro per lei non di essere." Ehno couldn’t understand why his sibling would claim such a thing. The woman had been her best friend, so of course she would have been happy. Even if he felt angry towards the creamy-hued man right now, Ehno truly hoped that he and Savina would be able to work past this. The Italian man could hardly imagine them apart after all these months they had lovingly spent together. He sighed and hugged her a little tighter for a moment, wishing that he somehow had the power to make everything better for her right now. But time was the best cure for emotional wounds. Things had to be taken slowly with the promise of better days ahead propelling them forward. Savina offered him a shaky question next. It was a question he had asked himself many times over the last few days. Why did she do this? Why did she have to walk down that destructive path that led to the pain of herself and those close to her? At first Ehno only offered a simple shake of his head in response, remaining silent as he thought about their ex-leader’s actions. "Forse… forse ha dimenticato appena che era." It was the only explanation he could come up with. Everything that had happened over the last few weeks swirled about in his mind, clouding his thoughts with confused emotions. He doubted he would be able to figure this all out even if he could think clearly. This whole situation only seemed to be getting more and more complicated. - Savina Marino - 07-28-2009 [html]

Got an amusing mental image of them frolicking through a field of flowers. XD And we can start to wrap this up, I guess? Unless Savvy's got more to tell brother-dearest. o: 300+ His sibling tensed and clung tighter to him, and it sent another worried jolt through his chest. He loosened one arm from his hold on his sister, once again rubbing soothing circles on her back. The reason for Savina’s sudden jolt became clear as soon as she spoke. Cambria. That poor girl had unwillingly gotten pulled into this mess in the worst way. Ehno had checked in on her from time to time as he paced uneasily through the manor. Each time he visited the sick child he did not hover there for long, knowing that he could not do much at all to help her. The child was never alone though, whether it was Mati or another pack member watching over her in silence. For that, he was glad. He didn't want the girl to be alone when she was sick. "Prende meglio. Lentamente, ma ricupera." Healing from that ordeal was proving to be a slow process, moving at an agonizing pace for those who wished to see the young Cambria healthy again. Ehno pulled her close after a moment in a loving hug, before he leaned back slightly. His amber gaze sought out her tear-rimed emerald eyes and he offered her a half-hearted smile. "Dovremmo uscire dalla pioggia, ritorna al castello." He remembered Savina’s injury then, attention shifting to study it. "E dobbiamo occuparsi di quella ferita sul sua braccio." Once they were back at the manor they could dry off and tend to her injuries. His thoughts darkened momentarily as he remembered that Naniko was no longer around to patch up the members of Crimson Dreams. They would have to make do without her, using the supplies that were left around the pack lands. After that, he knew that Savina would go back to watching over her daughter. It would do the girl good to be in the company of her mother, and Ehno had a feeling it would be good for the Commander too. - Savina Marino - 08-04-2009 [html]

Is it bad that I kinda want to see that happen? XD 300+ He could understand why his sibling would feel that she had acted selfishly, but he had another perspective on the situation as well. "Ehi, non preoccupa di ciò ora. Il Cambria non vorrebbe vedere che la sua mamma è triste, la destra?" His sister may not be happy that she had taken off so suddenly, but Ehno figured it was for the best. Seeing her mother struggling with her emotions like this wouldn’t be any good for the girl. He would rather have Savina face these feelings out here rather than back home where the recovering Cambria might see her. When they got back home Savina could try to put a smile on and spend some time with her little girl. In the end, that was really all they could do. Ehno forced a warm smile to his features at her heartfelt thanks. He gave her a quick nuzzle, amber gaze meeting her tear-sparkling emeralds. "Sono sempre qui se lei ha bisogno di me." And as long as he could help it, he would always remain within her reach. After their year of separation, he couldn’t imagine taking off on her again. Savina quietly confirmed his initial suspicion that it was that hybrid punk who had injured her. A flare of that old anger flickered at the edges of his thoughts, but he ignored it. "Buono di sapere," was his only response. He briefly wondered just how badly Savina had hurt the obnoxious loner, but it didn’t really matter. Whether he had limped away with moderate or serious wounds, he would think twice about coming to bother them again. He wanted to know if that young hybrid had made the first move or if Savina had lost control and went after him, but he kept quiet. Bringing up details of the recent fight didn’t seem like a good idea. Either way, the little worm got what he deserved. The man decided not to dwell on the subject any longer, slowly standing up after a moment. He offered a hand to his sister, a half-smile on his muzzle. - Savina Marino - 08-14-2009 [html]
