Too many people. @_@ With the entrance of Gabriel, the demeanor of their happy, makeshift party immediately crashed to something else. The room stilled beneath the intimidating eyes of the clan leader, the weight of his presence heavy in the foul-smelling air. Razekiel calmed himself quickly, smile fading beneath the shade of the white cloak he'd adorned as a costume, head turning this way and that to study the expressions of his fellow partygoers. What happened? Why was everyone so serious all of a sudden? The leader hadn't even said a thing, and yet it was if a silent alarm had gone off and the clan was inherently panicking within themselves. Razekiel, of course, knew nothing of the sort.

- Hybrid Holocaust - 11-20-2009
Hybrid regarded the situation with bored disinterest. Anselm complained about his birthday, which was followed by a round of agreement from the quite-drunk Centurion. Hybrid tried not to snort, trying very hard to hold back his mirthful smirk. He did not know if a drunk Kaena was better or worse than a sober one, and had no intentions of pushing his luck. His last meeting with her had been awkward at best, and he had no intentions of repeating it. With that in mind, he did not want to find out if she was a clingy drunk. The thought of being touched by a female for so long was rather revolting in its own right.
- Mason Alexandre Hesiod - 11-22-2009 Now Mason was feeling completely out of place. He kind of snuffled and half-whined within the depths of the skull that engulfed his head and shoulders. With frustration, he twisted underneath his mask and tried to get a good look at what everyone was doing and saying. Finally, he sighed and began to scuttled backward, the battered fangs of the skull scraping across the floor with a screeching sound. Mason did not want to abandon the skull. Although it was cumbersome, he was still quite proud that he had found it. He did not want to abandon this treasure, but he had no other way of carrying it. He struggled with it, trying to avoid being stepped on as he continued on his way. As he squirmed underneath the skull, the eye holes shifted to let him spy Halo and Hybrid. The boy struggled, keeping the edges of Halo's skirts in sight. He did not want to bump into the Hydra, though. She had taken the time to almost smile at him, but she had not gone any further. The only other interaction he had had with her had been when she had killed the rogue wolf at the borders. He found that in this situation he gravitated more toward her. It was not necessarily the slight kindness she had shown him now, or the fact that she was female. Mason knew better than to expect that others would be kind to him outright. He did not expect to be harmed by someone in Inferni, but he was of the school of thought that he would have to earn any respect. Usually, Kaena represented his "safe place" and Gabe also gave him a sense of security, but they were both otherwise engaged. And so Mason followed closely behind Halo, because she was the closest to him in age, as far as he could see. He felt the coolness of the air on his face, and stopped just short of bumping into Hybrid's heels. He scooted back quickly, so as not to disturb this new stranger. - Anselm de le Poer - 11-22-2009
-rubber stamps "MY PACK HAS THE BEST GROUP MEETINGS" on all of your foreheads.- xD Srsly, I think this is the funniest pack thread ever. >>; Slight powerplay to keep it moving, let me know if it should be changed. o:
------------------------------------------------------------ In some vague way he was aware of his environment changing around him; a wistful sigh escaped him as Kaena's words filtered in from the background, though his ears flicked quickly as Razekiel stumbled out after him. The drug was tickling his senses, urging him to forgive and forget--most of them probably hadn't even known it was his birthday. And at least now, he thought with a snicker, he knew who the cool kids were. Something about Razekiel's idiosyncrasies and speech patterns never failed to amuse him, and this was true now more than ever. He rose from his seat at the terminus of the staircase and helped stabilise the blazed coyote, putting on a meek smile before nodding. Yeah, man; I'm sorry. All of my other birthdays have been pretty weak... just didn't want a repeat, he admitted, which was strange by itself. He suspected Gabriel might be able to infer the less-than-desirable nature of his former birthdays, but Gabe was the only one he might have shared any explicit detail regarding his past. At the very least the Aquila would know he'd been away from Inferni this time last year--and the year before that, he was presumably kicking around the Waste by himself, existing in some pseudo-stable state that took root in apathy and indifference; with nobody around, he wasn't exactly miserable, but he couldn't have been very happy or felt he was fulfilling any purpose, either. Much as he'd felt around Kaena, he felt he'd gotten to know the dark prince in a truly minimal amount of time. The caramel hybrid didn't have too much time to ponder the deep implications of fast friendships, however, for it sounded as if the entire party was shifting around behind them. They were migrating away from the balcony and closer toward the stairs; for a fleeting instant he frowned, wondering if anyone had bothered to secure his harvest before a stray breeze managed to scatter it all over the ground. The night was a deathly calm one, however, and he supposed he could take care of it later. Even while intoxicated as he was now, Anselm de le Poer never forgot anything he considered to be important. By now the house was beginning to feel stuffy, and with everyone drawing nearer he realised he did not want to be left standing in some awkward circle in the middle of the foyer. He opened the door that led outside--the one where he'd found Ryan's note already too many weeks ago. Once outside he simply leaned against the cool, rough brick, closing his eyes and regarding the footsteps on the stairs with slight discomfort. He hadn't meant to shift the entire shindig downstairs--the balcony, as it offered an extended view, was far more desirable in his opinion. Then again, the estate's labyrinth of a garden might prove to be more fun--perhaps they could play some kind of game, but he wasn't sure that some of those who didn't want to drink or smoke would enjoy a game either. Maybe they were robots. His eyes opened wide as they converged on the entryway. - Kaena Lykoi - 11-24-2009
- Gabriel de le Poer - 11-28-2009
One more round and then I'll close this? Go wild, guys!
He was lucky, really, that his mother understood. She shooed off the gawkers, and left them alone in the room. Gabriel felt horrible regret in his stomach—like he really had gone and ruined the party. It wasn’t as if he meant it, certainly. Surprise was something that he often greeted with what came off as disapproval, even though he really could have cared less who was doing what. Hybrid, certainly, was proof enough of that. Kaena gently, almost daintily, put the hat atop his head. Looking entirely more miserable then he had in a long while, Gabriel relented—he dropped his head and began the transformation he had not undergone in several weeks. It took longer then expected, and his muscles ached from the shift. Two legged, he perched the hat atop his gold-red hair, smiling a little sadly. It was Kaena who caught on quickly, and she grabbed a few odds and ends for him. Not five minutes later did the two emerge from the house, Gabriel now dressed like some turn-of-the-century, ghastly pirate. He had ragged clothing and a curtain for a cape, all too fitting with his too-long hair. He felt Kaena press a bottle into his hand, and didn’t even bother to look at what it was. “Hey, Anselm!” His voice rose with a powerful command, and he was not surprised to see everyone turn at it. “Happy fucking birthday!” Gabriel lifted the bottle, took a drink, and then motioned to the golden hybrid. Then, suddenly, he turned to a pile of wood stacked to be burnt (old things they had pulled from the house), threw the bottle into it, and somewhere from under his curtain-cape produced a pack of matches and set the pile to flame. He turned back to his cousin. It’s your night, his eyes blazed. Anselm needed it. They all probably did. - Mason Alexandre Hesiod - 12-02-2009 ooc: Mason can be the DD, haha Mason rolled his golden eyes this way and that, twisting his head as he dragged the skull along. He tried to keep glimpses of Halo's skirts in his sights as he scurried along. It did not take long for the boy to realize that the co-hydra was moving at a quicker pace. He tried to match her pace with some difficulty. He noticed that as he crept closer, she would speed up. It then dawned on him that she was probably trying to keep away from him. He felt some disappointment, but it did not last long. The boy did not take it personally. For all he knew, Halo just wanted to be left alone. After several minutes, the vision of Halo's skirts had disappeared. He was unable to smell her scent as strongly, and so he continued forward, the teeth on his skull clattering on the ground as he tried to make his way. He found Gabriel's familiar heels and tried to keep in step with the man. He exclaimed that Anselm's birthday was important, and he seemed to shift into a partying mood. Mason did not know what to make of that. The scene he had stumbled upon before this had unnerved him on some level. But he still trusted Gabriel implicitly; the leader had never steered him wrong before. Then suddenly the dark inside of the skull was alight with yellows and oranges. Mason finally gave up and sat on the ground, twisting his shoulders inside the skull so that he was able to see out of the eye sockets clearly. It appeared as though Gabriel had started a fire. Finally, this was something that Mason could enjoy without any reservations. He was uncertain how to approach the clan member who had been sullen earlier, but he wanted to convey his good will toward him. Tipping his head back a little, the skull sliding on his head wildly, the young Tirones Minor let out a long, thin howl to aid in the celebration. - Hybrid Holocaust - 12-02-2009 Vroom vroom!
Everyone seemed to be having a rather rough time. Halo looked rather miserable, the little puppy-type thing looked a tad bit confused, Anselm was completely down in the dumps, and Gabriel looked as though he was going to fix everything. What a laugh! Perhaps Gabriel would announce a new goal, perhaps a wolf hunt or a witch hunt or whatever he wanted to call it. Hybrid knew he could count on Gabriel to keep his head on straight.
- Kaena Lykoi - 12-03-2009
The silver-furred hybrid was all to eager to assist her son in dressing up for the party quickly; they didn't have a terrible lot of time and the night was going by so fast for the drunken hybrid. It had been some time since she'd actually drank, but that was the lovely thing about alcohol—her low tolerance made it easy for the stuff to affect her, and she didn't have to keep chugging all night long, though she still kept her precious bottle close, just in case. The coyote didn't think she'd need anymore, but one never could tell. The pain might return at any second and she'd require another dose of her precious liquor to dull it away again. When Gabriel was dolled up for the party, they descended the stairs, heading down to join the others. Almost as soon as they were out-of-doors, Gabriel's mood had lifted, and he seemed ready to enjoy the party, shouting to Anselm and grabbing the bottle from the silver-furred woman, who relinquished it immediately, intensely glad she'd been useful to Gabriel in cutting loose. He tossed it to some debris and set ablaze a bonfire which roared up before the hybrid's single yellow eye, flaming into the night and casting a reddish-orange glow on everything. The hybrid stood, wobbly and mesmerized for a long moment by the dancing flame. A howl rose up, the voice high and tinny with youth. The hybrid's head wavered wildly trying to discern the source, finding Mason still clad in his skull from before. She grinned widely at this and approached closer to the fire, settling down rather roughly to the earth, almost losing her balance halfway through sitting but catching herself in time. Her own call rose up to join Mason's, and it was about the only sound the hybrid woman could make without slurring. - Anselm de le Poer - 12-04-2009
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad34 ... ts/sky.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; padding-bottom:300px; background-position:bottom center; background-color:#000000; text-align:justify; font-family:tahoma; font-size:11px; color:#ffffff; line-height:14px" align="center">
@$%&Some cynical part of his brain was tempted to think celebrating such a thing might be fairly appropriate for how the night was going, but the silly little twirl completely wiped any negative thoughts from his mind at once; it was just too ridiculous. He was about to reply to the coyote when Gabriel burst through the door, causing his head to swivel rather abruptly and his features to go blank--his "genuinely confused" face. Where before the leader had met them with stunned silence, he now was busting with wild belligerence. He watched some volume of the liquid disappear into his cousin's mouth, his own hanging open rather uselessly as if something should come out. While this behaviour was uncharacteristic at best, the Caelum supposed the same could be said for he and Kaena both. Why wasn't anyone else as enthralled as he was? They should have felt lucky! Not every pack got to see their upper ranked members trashed all at once. @$%&And then he watched the arc and the droplets of liquid that suspended mid-air as the bottle flew through the sky; his head cocked to one side as he considered how inappropriate it was to banish a fine bottle of liquor to a heaping mound of trash. And then the scent of sulphur and smoke hit him, and he turned to look as the doggish hybrid tossed a match into the mix. His understanding was instantaneous and the heavy wagging of his tail betrayed as much. A big sloppy grin had taken up residence on his face and he moved with surprising speed and grace (more of a skip, than anything) toward his cousin. "Aww shit, man!" And here he pulled the Aquila into a rowdy bear hug, nudging the underside of the leader's chin with the top of his snout before disengaging from the slightly awkward (but no less hilarious) gesture. Corny enough, he felt the true message could be left unsaid: I love you, man. @$%&From there he pranced away, chucking random combustible things into the growing fire with delight. That Halo had stalked off and Hybrid was skulking about hardly registered on his radar at this point; Gabriel knew just where to scratch him to get his leg kicking, it seemed. At least the puppy seemed to be having more fun now, and he shot Mason a toothy (yet friendly and encouraging) grin before joining in time with Kaena. Everything had worked out after all. -way too tired and crampy to do this post justice.- ;; |
