There wasn't a single millisecond that she blame him, or anyone else for what had happened to her. The only person to blame was the beast that had done it, and probably herself as well. She hadn't spent enough time in Inferni lands to know of the conflict that had erupted. If she had, she never would have walked in that area. She wouldn't have run into that horrible man and none of this would have happened. She wouldn't have gotten hurt and become a burden and a liability to her clan and family. Rikka felt stupid and weak and she hated it. The contrast between her and her brother made her feel even more inadequate. Gabriel was so strong, so brave, so smart. The woman felt certain, even if he didn't show it, that he was ashamed of her. She was ashamed of herself.

Rikka hadn't expected Gabriel to come lay by her, but she welcomed the contact and her body surprisingly didn't even flinch. Perhaps it was too drained to even react in that small way, but she thought it was because she knew that if she weren't safe anywhere else in the world, she was safe here with him. She let him attend to her, to wipe her tears away and her eyes closed and her breathing normalized again. The steady in and out motion of her breathing along with the warmth from her brother soothed her and she could feel an easy drowsiness descend upon her tattered body and mind. Before she drifted away though she needed to tell him what she had needed to tell him from the start. "Thank you Gabriel," she whispered to him. Rikka wanted to tell him she loved him, but couldn't find the words to convey the complexities of their sibling bond. She hoped that he knew how much she treasured him and admired him.
