Her violet eyes watched the woman as she lay on the old couch. She felt horribly about what had happened. It pulled at her heart strings, and made her wish she could turn back time once more to stop it all from happening. Ghita had been so brave, dashing into the old barn with no thought of her own safety. Mati had been so enthralled in the fact that Cambria had been trapped that she didn’t consider that another pack member could be hurt while trying to save her. But Ghita had a strong sprit, Mati knew this well even though she had only known her from pack meetings and when Savina had given birth. Still, such a thing could not be mistaken or over looked.
The Church female took a step closer, as her eyes opened to meet her. She was in such obvious discomfort, and Mati’s brow knit together as she watched the other female turn to greet her. In all honestly the other female looked horrible, wrappings right up her chest and her eyes closing at the pain of each movement. She wondered what lay beneath the blanket, and remembered what she had looked like when she had been carried out of the barn. Just went out for a patrol. Mati answered, her eyes resting on the other fey’s face, a soft smile coming to her features.
I wanted to see how you were doing, and if you needed anything. Mati spoke once more, her voice leeching the sympathy and guilt mixture that lived in her heart. She could be hungry, or thirsty and need something that Mati would be happy to get her. It must be so hard for her, to be on best rest for such a long time. Mati couldn’t imagine doing it herself, and she seemed a bit more low key then the older Marino. She was always happy to sit in one place and doodle if it was necessary.
