But you give me the electric twist

The morning was wonderful, the sun finally peaking out from behind the veil of dark clouds and allowing its warmth to speak of summer. The wolfess stood outside the Manor, violet eyes looking up at the brightening sky. With her easel rooted in the new grass, Mati mixed the small amount of yellow with the purple that she had created in hopes of gaining the brown that would match the tree that was her focus at the moment. It was a small piece, something to keep her mind busy after she had sought out the status of the borders. She had been doing well with her patrols, picking up the task after Ghita and Cambria had been hurt, and thought she deserved a small reward for her efforts.

She would need her smallest brush soon, for the thin branches, but the color had to be perfect. A practiced hand and eye added what the mixture needed as her mind drifted. It did so easily since her gravity had been pulled in a new direction. She wondered what her heart’s captor was doing, if she was still under her blankets and searching for a few more moments of sleep and if her bumps and bruises were better then the day Mati had stopped by to check up on her. Almost just as frequently Mati wondered if Cambria thought of her, thinking and hoping that she was on her mind as much as the younger female was on her own. Violet eyes looked up, matching the colors and satisfied. The cup that held her brushes sat on the ground beside her and she picked one up after the other in search of the small brush.

A huff escaped her nose and she rose from the flattened grass and stretched her legs. She needed a break, Mati figured as she felt the small knots pull and untie in her back and legs. A few hops brought her to the porch and she walked lightly towards her room. It was closed, but the Church woman thought nothing of it, figuring she was the one to do so. It was the scent that made her pause. It brought a smile to her face, for the fragrance was one that she searched for constantly. It settled in her lungs, though the reaction could be felt rushing all the way down to her toes. Before she could open the door she heard a soft muffled voice, the words incoherent, but it did not deter her.

The tall wolfess stepped inside with a silent smile on her face, tail waving behind her. It was the first to react to the woman she saw on her bed, growing stiff with the shock that rolled through her. Her eyes took it in, though it was her nose (first as always) that told of what was changed in the other female. It was not disgust or horror that was written on her face, merely confusion with embarrassment riding it’s tail-end. There were no words that could come to her, though she felt the need to apologize. But there was something more powerful that she couldn’t ignore, something that settled in her stomach as she allowed the sight of Cambria seep into her mind and through her senses. It kept her standing there, and made it impossible to look away.
