She had never been told she was beautiful before Cambria, not in a way that made her want to believe it. Her body was something she dealt with, her height and size unlike other female’s lithe forms and her coloring drab and resembling dirt more often then not. The other female was gorgeous beyond Mati’s capabilities to cope, to describe it or capture it on canvas. She told her so, and felt her perfection under the sensitive tips of her fingers. But Cambria made her feel beautiful; unlike anyway she had ever felt. The attention the Marino gave made it easy for Mati to fall in love with her, having been there or close to it already. But Cambi slowly taught her to love herself, to find her body as a place of power and beauty. The intensity rushed through her body, the beat of her heart no longer living in her chest but lower. But she couldn’t find the control to do so.
