But I still love you! <3 +5

With the bag dumped onto his bed, half of its contents spilling out on the mattress, Silas silently thumbed through what he had scavenged in Halifax that morning. Sleep seemed to be evading him lately, so while the sun was still resting and the sky was littered with a million glowing stars, Silas left the security of his second floor room and ventured outside towards the city. He had wandered by the motel where he and his family had first lived upon their arrival at Nova Scotia, finding it abandoned now. From there he had gone inside a multitude of dilapidated buildings, searching through various apartments and stores that Silas had yet to venture inside.

There wasn’t a lot he had brought back, though he had been lucky to find a few things he knew would come in handy. He had traded Cotl three bottles of vodka for the tattoo that now decorated his right shoulder so he had found a few more bottles to replace the small supply hidden beneath his bed. They weren’t bottles of Русский Стандарт, but Silas could live with that. Really, he mostly kept things like this for trading but of course also for the occasional fun time.

He had been able to find another pack of cigarettes which he placed on the bedside table. He didn’t smoke often, but Silas didn’t object to gathering things while they were there. If he hadn’t grabbed them, eventually someone else would have. And although more things still lay hidden within the fabric of his bag, Silas’ attention was focused on the small thing he had found in one of the apartment buildings. He held it with a couple fingers, turning it in the light to study. Though he wasn’t exactly sure what it was, Silas had taken the ring with him because of the precious stone locked in its cage of gold. The garnet glittered in the light, its darkened red color shining a little brighter in the center – almost ruby – as the sun passed over it. It reminded him of the princess, and so he couldn’t help taking it. It had been awhile since he had seen those eyes and the ring made that seem a little less difficult.

In the hallway Silas heard movement just outside his door. He hesitated for a moment, listening to see whether or not he had a visitor or if only someone was passing by as they climbed the stairs. Being situated by the stairwell, Silas had grown accustom to the sound of footfall wandering by. After a moment, he could hear the light steps of whoever wandering further down the hall, and Silas dropped his gaze away from his door. He had hoped that maybe...

The ring he set near the cigarettes on the bed side table, but the rest would have to wait. Silas rose from his bed, pale blue eyes sweeping over the mural that had yet to be completed, before he moved to the doorway. He paused there, one clawed hand resting on the doorknob. He couldn’t take this anymore. He needed to see her and something inside told him the princess was the one wandering away from him. Sighing, the young Russian opened his bedroom door and stepped out into the hallway, icy eyes sweeping the mansion’s second floor to discover the Hydra trailing to her room. For a moment Silas merely watched in silence, smiling at the woman’s flawless appearance as she continued to move further away. "Halo," he called to her gently, hoping she’d turn. For no reason at all, Silas seemed to have fallen into a brilliant mood.
