Her empty stomach screamed without a sound, but she could not make herself consume the meal yet. She would wait until Cotl was done… staring at the child or something. She smiled at him with genuine gratitude tracing her fine frame. ”Thank you, Cotl..” She smiled adoringly at the pierced male. The Ulrich male spoke her child’s name and her oversized ears swayed backwards when it sounded out loud. It was true; her son was a Lykoi. She should have been proud of bringing forth a child of her own blood. She just wished it could have happened differently. She wanted to know who else the boy belonged to. She knew who she wanted the father to have been, if she had been able to choose.

”No,” the woman said when he offered to teach her how to set traps straight away. "I'd appreciate it if we could do it later." Not as long as the child was alone upstairs. She had been away long enough. With the rabbit in the kitchen forgotten she turned and headed up the stairs, dread and longing accompanying her. She opened the door quietly and found the small child huddled up on the bed where she had left him. A crippled smile entered her face as the young child turned to gaze upon his mother. Silver and browns made out his fur, but she had to admit that the child’s eyes were beautiful. They were ruby like his mother’s, but his eyes held an outer circle smoothly turning to a vibrant purple. She had not seen such eyes before, but it reminded her slightly of Jael’s eyes where fire burned in yellow, orange and red.

”Hey you,” the woman purred softly as she walked over to the bed and picked up the ball of fur. She turned and searched for Cotl’s following form. ”Itachi, this is uncle Cotl.” Had she been a better mother she would have kept him away Cotl and the foul language his unwilling outbreaks tossed out, but Halo was well accustomed to his ways and never really noticed any longer.
