Hopefully they wouldn't ever have to use the emergency supplies soon. Xeris was a bit frightened at the thought, especially when it came to their children. But in some ways, she thought, it was the opposite of what her father had been trying to prevent--wolves becoming like humans. Human culture was still very interesting and new to her. "That's interesting," she said, looking back at the book and the characters written on it which were illegible to her. "You'll have to tell me what you find out while reading it.
