Cherry eyes stared at the male a moment before accepting his hand and rising. It was the same gesture that Aro had made when he escorted her home. Increasingly she could sense protectiveness from males that lacked in females and it had puzzled her at first. Yet Nayru had come to accepted it as part of who they were, and she could act the part they wanted her to, even if she had never felt the need for a helping hand. Like a lady she rose and smiled a thanks to Saluce before turning her eyes back to the ocean, “Tomorrow is a fine day to start training. ” Her melodic voice floated back over her shoulder to the male, and she stayed staring into the bright blue waters just at the horizon. The thought of wielding the dagger with the skill Saluce had, the idea of using what Larkspur had taught her in conjunction, the power she would have made her dizzy. The overwhelming compulsion to hurl herself off the cliff came, but it passed within moments and Saluce’s next question cause her to turn and look back at the beast.

“I have Conor and Bris. And Gideon.” Her face was warm but puzzled, as if to question “Why ask that? You already know them.” Of course Nayru knew that the male meant her family from before, but they did not exist anymore. It was only the Dahlians and the purposeful confusion upon Nayru’s face let the male know that. Conor and Bris were not parents quite, older siblings perhaps, guardians certainly, but friends also. And Gideon was simply her best friend, despite their splitting personalities. More than that it was all of Dahlia who molded her, who she cared for. It was as if the pack was one entity that sustained all her needs, there wasn’t anything beyond that.

His request to know her was a strange one. Aro too had questioned too deeply for her comfort, but she accepted it with practice grace and nodded, as if to comply. Yet she knew how to tell the truth without answering questions, and she knew when to stop talking as well. Saluce could be privy to her personal life to a point, if that was what he wished for, but there were many bits of information she kept solely to herself. He wished to protect her, so he said, and the fairy child would allow the male to do as he wished so long as it never interfered with her own plans, whether they lead her into ruin or not. “What more do you wish to know?”
