It was hard to put how she felt into words. Ember had always been a very independent wolf until now. She didn’t like to think of herself as sad or depressed, and didn’t feel that way 99% of the time. However, there were times like this when she felt tiny prickles of pain and fear creep back into her subconscious mind. She was trying to accept this and be alright with it, but her past had taught her that trusting anyone but a completely devoted family member was a mistake.
He had spoken of love, but what kind of love did he mean? She held love for her family and friends...perhaps that was what it was. She took the bottle from where he had placed it on the table and had one more drink, more warmth beginning to seep through her despite her distance from the male. ”We don’t really have any other options…but we can see about getting another bed in here sometime, maybe.” And maybe not.
She scooted herself backward on the bed so that her back was against the wall, curling her legs up in front of her. Once he was settled she would lie down too. She wasn’t sure at times, but things would probably change as she got more comfortable…and even now, the alcohol was beginning to affect her a little. Calming. Perhaps if she had a drink each night before bed she would feel better. It was one option, anyway.
