Gabriel, while he did not often travel south from the Waste, could often be found outside of the borders along the shoreline to the west. Very few wolves dared to cross the mountains from the east, and those he did run into were loners and often fled when he confronted them. The coy-wolf was happy about this, and often enjoyed the solitude that was allowed to him. This beach, while different from the one he had spent some of his childhood, still reminded him of the few good things from that time.

He behaved almost childishly, chasing the water along the shore. The cold air and freezing water felt good against his thickening coat. Seagulls wheeled and circled above him, though they would never come low enough to harass the Inferni leader. He wished that Marlowe and the other ravens would travel this far west, but his companion had told Gabriel that the Waste and south-east offered far better food. Shaking his head as the stupid birds began to fight over something, he followed their movements and found something peculiar in the distance.

An orange and gray figure was across the distance made by the rising tide. The Inferni leader stopped walking and lifted his head, squinting to try and make out what it was he was seeing.
