They had run a lot, and sitting down to look at the map would probably help them recover a bit. Gideon already felt a little better, if not a bit thirsty, as he nosed the map toward Saul. His brother wanted him to open it, it seemed, and he bit at the piece of string that tied it shut, pulling on it. The string snapped easily enough and Gideon's tail wagged eagerly.
He unfolded the map carefully, putting one paw on one end and nosing it open with the other. He then put his other paw on the other end of the map to hold it open so that it couldn't whip shut again. "What is this?!" He could remember hearing about something like this before...he could see little landmarks on the old piece of paper, and there was a big X farther along the beachline on the paper. It looked like a depiction of the part of Dahlia that they stood on.
"What do you think that X is for, Saul?" He asked his brother. Saul had done a bit more travelling than Gideon had...maybe he would know!! He was very excited about the prospect of another adventure now that they were out of the bear's sights and safe.
