Not to attack, not to kill, but to face her now and see what it was within her that needed leashed. Gabriel lingered where he was, pale eyes gleaming in the dark.

She was calling on ancient canine ancestors that they shared, far beyond the dogs and wolves that had given them blood. Before the disease came. Before man. She was toying with him and he knew it. The hybrid would play her game.

Above all else, Gabriel was a very patient man.
