ooc: sorry for the wait.

It seemed that Tala had not done much wandering around the area and had yet to encounter any of the other packs. That was how Xeris started out too; she had joined Phoenix Valley because it was the first occupied place she could find. Even now, though, she usually chose to remain within the Valley's borders despite her pack's generally favorable relations with the other neighboring wolves. Perhaps one day she would venture back to Crimson Dreams to pay Flayra a visit.

Tala suggested that they move on. Xeris nodded, ready to get away from this slightly disturbing place. She turned toward the southwest, and began to walk, again in silence for now or at least until her companion said something. It was not long before the two reached the vast expanse of Firefly Fields, and Xeris remembered the times she had spent here with her friends. "This place is known as Firefly Fields," she told Tala. "There's not much to see here now, especially during this time of the year. But in the summer, if you come here at night, the fireflies gather. They look like a field of stars."

But now, the field was mostly dried and withering grass, attacked by winter's coming chill. Xeris paused for a moment to give Tala some time to look around, and then spoke again. "Southwest of here are the Mirror Lakes. They are beautiful all year round, would you like to go see them?" Perhaps they could drop by Xeris' cabin on the way; it was just at the tip of the southern lake.
