"Okay!" Pripyat was excited that Bindu wanted to see his old home, he hadn’t been back since Mother and him had come here. Mother had asked if he was ready to come, he had said yes and neither of them had looked back. That hadn’t been a mistake in the slightest. Pripyat loved living in the ranch, he loved the coming and going of so many other canines. He liked to be near to Jefferson although the male was still new to him. It made Mother happy when Pripyat spent time with his father, and that made Pripyat happy. And Jefferson was kind, and when Pripyat did something to please the grizzled gimp the affection he did show the boy meant a lot. Yet all the talk about the lighthouse spurred something that Pripyat had buried in his childish heart. Suddenly he felt homesick for the sea-side haven. It would be great to see the lighthouse again, he thought, as he moved toward the door of the ranch, his mind racing.
Standing at the door that lead outside he turned back to Bindu, his smile wide and his tail waving madly behind him. "Are you ready? It’s a long walk." Or it had seemed like a really long walk when they had come here. Hopefully he could find the right path that would lead them there. It shouldn’t be too difficult.
