Unfortunately for China, polite would not be the kind of response she’d be receiving. Azalea was adding a few more notes to the ones she had already written, simply crossing out ideas she found no longer useful or corrected by some later thought. In her quest for perfection, her smattering of ideas was written in organized lists and paragraphs, as if she were writing a novel and not plotting out a map. Though she had only let her golden gaze fall to the book for a mere moment, that was all the time the coyote girl seemed to need. Her voice was the first thing to alert Azalea to her presence, and her scent came looming in after. As vibrant eyes watched her, cold despite their warm color, the young wolf found herself cursing her fault in not detecting the coyote sooner.
"I’m not drawing anything," came her smooth response, her words flowing from her mouth like water in a creek. And yet, this was somewhat a lie, for on the previous page were the beginnings of her map of Anathema. Her golden gaze studied the coyote girl then, noting the cool blue of her gaze that somehow sat in perfect harmony amongst the red of her partial mask and the mottled grey fur. Had she had appreciation for these things, she would have noticed that the other girl was rather attractive. But in Azalea’s world, none of that mattered.
She could have easily dispatched the coyote then, but the new Rakeeb figured it would be worth her while to try and extract some information first. Especially since the girl seemed so willing to be there (for now, at least).
"Who are you anyways?" The tone coloring her words clearly reflecting Zale’s only partial interest.
