The two females sat in the common room of the Manor. Mother beside daughter, a book shared between them. The elder didn't know what the words said but the younger explained the large pictures that took up most of the page and bled over the sides. Blue and violet eyes looked at the two legged characters that stood in the scene, standing in a meadow, the colors and brush strokes creating a picture that meant much more then one might think at the first glance. Once they discussed one, the larger bronze fey would turn the page to the next.
The second in command's ear turned, looking out to the wall that faced the Manor's porch. It was distant, not at the very door but still she could hear it clearly. Mati did not hear it, not right away. The silver and tan female touch her arm, pausing her speech and asked her to listen with a silent glance.
Mati rose before Anu, but the elder Dreamer did not hesitate in following the taller female to the door and the out to meet the cold air. Blue eyes looked over her deep earth hued shoulder, finding that it was indeed the son that she missed often. Mati ran to him, her arms wrapping themselves around her brother and the mother came to stand beside the horse as she spoke his name. Haven! She didn't know what brought the orange male to their home.
