A house to call a home.

I've been around the world, in the pourin' rain..

ooc: 563 words. Thanks for reminding me about this thread XD.

Bangle listened, as he carried the armload of wood in his own hands, about Shaw's life as a carpenter. "I guess because I never wanted to be without a roof over my head…" The coywolf heard, and suddenly his mind drifted off into thought. Bangle was almost nearly the opposite, for he carried his own home wherever he went up until he joined the pack. Of course, it only served to be temporary but it gave Bangle more working room without the heavy loads that would burden his back.

But the coywolf shook his head, then, as he heard a question from the entrance of the building. "You coming?" The larger male said to him. Shrugging off his thoughts of traveling for the moment, the coyote mix readjusted the wood from under his arm and darted off after Shawchert. But even when he did catch up to the man, matching his walking speed, Bangle decided to race ahead back towards the house, eager to see what the carpenter could do. "C'mon friend, put those legs'a yers to use!" Bangle guffawed loudly into the fall air as he made a dash towards his house, jewelry shaking their chorus alongside the beat of wooden planks.

The male swooped around the corner and stopped when he got to his front porch, inhaling and exhaling air as he tried to catch his breath from the run. His ears twitched, waiting to hear for Shaw to round the corner. Grinning when he saw the larger male appear, the coywolf knelt down and set the wood down onto the floor near the front door. Pushing himself back up again and brushing himself off of the dust and stray wood chips that clung to his side, he nodded at Shawchert. "So where are we startin', carpenter?"

His hands curled into fists and he put them on his waist, anxiously waiting a response. It occurred to the traveler then that he hadn't met anyone who had wanted to give him a hand and didn't expect anything in return. The notion of wanting to help someone out just because was still strange to Bangle, usually he was at the ready to trade something for any assistance, if he ever needed it. But figuring it was usually best to do things himself, and not have to trade away his precious crafts in return, the coywolf lived independently.

All wolves were different, this the coyote mix knew. He'd nearly traveled all over, or so he thought, and had met just about every kind of personality there was. Bangle had picked up some of the personalities he thought addicting, but he had to agree that it was his life that made him... him. The coywolf shook his head presently as he stared at the large flute-playing male, wondering what kind of life he must have had, and what fortunes had brought him and the traveler together.

The strange salesman jumped down from the front porch, standing next to Shaw and (attempting to, at least) drape his arm casually on the large man's shoulder. But with Shaw being at least three feet taller on the coyote mix, it was a strange position to be in indeed. "So how d'you go about makin' this look livable, hm?" He said, looking at Shaw briefly and with his free hand, pointing palm outwards to display the house before them.
