Skye laughed as well when Conor mentioned that being a splat on a tree would be disturbing. Skye tried to imagine her being just a splat on the wall and she agreed, laughing again. She was glad that Conor wasn't being apologetic or nervous anymore; it was so much easier when people laughed. It made the air around them lighter, and wiped away the nervousness and tensity of what had happened just moments earlier.

Skye saw that Conor's eyes drifted along the horse, and she knew he was thinking about it in some way. She wondered if it was the way she walked that made the horse angry - perhaps if she didn't show enough dominance, it would get mad and start charging again. Skye straightened herself and held her tail high, but the horse still snorted once before looking at the sky. Skye sighed and gave up; she would ask someone who had horses later how to get hers to respect her, since she obviously wasn't doing the job too well.

Skye nodded when he asked if she was from the newly established pack to the south of Dahlia de Mai. "Yes. We're new, but strong, and gaining numbers," she said. She loved her pack so far; she was the co-leader, and she never would have guessed in the beginning of her adventures at Souls that she would become one. It was Shawchert's flute playing that lead up to this; if they'd never have met, Skye would never have been in Cercatori d'Arte. Or maybe she would, but she wouldn't have been in the position and rank that she was now. Fat chance. She wondered what rank Conor held.

After Conor's next words, Skye couldn't help it; she laughed. "Just hope that he's not like this one!" she said, gesturing towards Jack. Jack tossed his head angrily and looked to the sky again. She patted his neck. "I'm only kidding," she said, still grinning. Jack didn't seem to want to hear it, and he turned away. Skye shook her head; this was quite the temperamental horse. She supposed she shouldn't make fun of him, but it wasn't like he could hear her, only her teasing tone. And she guessed he would have to put up with her now that she was his owner. She kept her hand on the horse and listened to Conor's next question.

"In a way," Skye said, thinking back to the encounter with Liliana. "I promised to teach her how to read." She made a mental note on traveling to AniWaya later to teach Liliana how to do this - after all, she'd have to pay her debts soon. She'd bring plenty of books - and Jack, too! Yes, she was sure Jack would be happy to return to his tribal home, if only for a little while. Perhaps it'd help tame him, and the journey would be good for both of them.
