There it was, the bright red feathers that danced behind the pine's needles. He was glorious, large and brighter then most. His color would attract the lesser hued sex wildly, and Alder was sure that he would have to run from all the females that would be chasing after him. It brought a bright smile to the male's face, a smile that was only brought on by the sights of birds and horses and lesser things below the wolves.
There was a sound, movement in the snow beyond the tree that he had claimed as his own for a brief moment. The tall male turned to search for the maker, hoping that it would be a deer that had been startled. But, the scent was close and distinctly horse. He smelled the stallion first, and then the wolfess. She was a pack unknown to the masked boy and it frightened him. His heart beat quickly and his stomach twisted slightly with worry.
Eyes the color of a clear sky looked beyond the feathered branches of the pines and saw the horse, a dapples gray looking stallion. Then with a downward glance he saw the wolf settled in the cold. Alder hesitated, but then stepped forward towards the seated woman and spoke. "Are you alright?" He asked, deep voice polite as he always hoped to be. He knew that he was a large beast, and that others might oddly find him intimidating so he stayed at a distance. The horse intrigued him, wondering if she had fallen off him and onto the snow cushioned ground. "Did he toss you?" He spoke, feeling a tad more comfortable. He stood, shifting slight in the snow as he was still uncomfortable in his Optime form. Hand fiddled with his fingers, unsure exactly what to do with them.
