His watchful gaze never left the two very young boys that were playing a little ways away, even while his adopted children passed through his mind in turn. Though they had never had a close relationship like the one he shared with Amaranth, Vigilante wondered what had become of Kable after he had chosen to leave Cour des Miracles with his father. Leroy had never been the ideal father, and Vigilante had not been happy to hear that he was taking Kable with him. All he could hope was that things had turned out well for them, wherever they had ended up.
Dark ears swivelled forward at the approaching sound of a horse moving through the thick layer of snow that covered the ground. At first he thought that it might be his own stallion moving to join them in front of the house, for the horse spent his time in the back, free to roam. Nadherne simply chose to remain a companion to the King. Jade eyes quickly found the source of the sound, a broad smile forming over his alabastor-tipped muzzle. He had been hoping that Ever would visit them soon to become better acquainted with Noah and Liam, and he was glad to see that she had taken the trip over to visit with them all.
"Hello, Ever," he called pleasantly. "Boys, come see Ever," he directed to them, pleased when they listened and scrambled over, both excitedly and clumsily. "Ever!" Liam said excitedly, taking his cue from his father that this visit was something to be excited about. "What brings you this way?" he asked with a warm smile. The visit was unexpected, but he was very happy to see his daughter.
