A Rose By Any Other Name

+5. I think this is the only table Bangle has that's.. calmer. XD

The wind howled and beat snow furiously on the window panes, but the coywolf was surrounded by walls that were much sturdier than his own. The wood normally joined in on the chorus of wind howling, and found cold drifts wafting inside where they weren't welcome. But Bangle was glad to be out of the storm when he could, when he decided staying at Skye's house a much better option. With Cheddar now at her house, the tradesman was able to carry a lighter load as he made the awful trek to her place not long ago, nearly up to his mid-thigh in snow.

Though the stinging snow and frost that clung to his decorated fur had disappeared, replaced by the warm glow of the small fireplace, and of the moving fire that lay beside him. Her arms wrapped around his waist, having found themselves on her bed when he jokingly jumped onto it, demanding warmth. Like always, the coywolf got what he wanted, as he stroked the fire red hair that spilled onto his chest. Fingers idly caressed his mate's head, orange mingling with the red and gray fur of his fingers. His mind, blocking away the cold, harsh weather that blew outside, was now focusing on this moment, and the events that led up to it.

Bangle convinced himself that this was the right decision, and being here in this moment was one of the good reasons. No longer did the traveler have to wait until spring before he sprung, he would stay right there, with this female beside him. Though no matter what way the coywolf looked at it, eyes that mimicked the fire's glow still glazed over with a sense of 'what if?'. What if he had gone without her, leaving everything behind? What if she had moved on, as he would have? Presently, the coywolf shook his dreadlock draped head. Perhaps not all was lost - he could still travel.. and possibly take her with him. His famous, toothy grin that often got him in trouble snaked across his face, thinking about all of these possibilities. Maybe, just maybe, it was a win-win situation.

But he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, as he looked back down onto the hair that spilled across his shoulders and chest, slow and steady breathing from the female's white chest. A distant neigh sounded from Jack, the horse that Bangle was told was given to Skye, followed by Cheddar's well-known bleating. Bat-like ears heard the clip clop-ing of the female goats hooves, who then entered into the room that the pair was in. Another soft bleating came from the goat's muzzle, and Bangle stared hard at it, wishing the creature, like the weather outside, would disappear.

However, the goat reminded him of Sky, and of the goat she pawned off him. His grin turned into a small scowl when he thought of that awful trade, and how his new mate was suddenly thrown into it all. Damn, what a way to mess a deal up. It wasn't all for naught, though, as he found his trade of Cheddar's food-making abilities a much better deal than giving Sky another goat. The hand that moved through Skye's fire-colored locks now draped across her side, lightly. So many things had happened lately, and the coywolf could not imagine how Shawchert must have been feeling with his woman miscarrying. It was painful to all of the small pack, but none moreso than the large captain. Clearing his throat, Bangle thought it best not to even bring it up, the subject was far too heavy for the light hearted moment at present. His breathing eased, too, as he felt her heart beat against his own.
