The look of fear in his mate's eyes did nothing to ease his own worries. She said that it hurt, and his bi-colored ears fell back against his head as a wave of guilt flushed over him. Haven had known it would be painful for her, it had been so for Ruri, but it was different when it was the woman you loved who was experiencing the pain. Partly because he loved her and never wanted her to hurt, and partly because this pain was because of him. Of course it had taken the both of them to do this, but he was the one who had wanted this first and there was no physical discomfort for him to endure. He wished that he could do this instead of her, but he knew that was impossible, it was simply not the way nature worked.
He felt a hand on his shoulder and he turned to look up at his sister. There was no concern in her voice or her face, in fact she was smiling. This, this was alright then? It was normal at the very least? The Knight still hated that Princess hurt, but at least it was a hurt that was supposed to be there. Cambria looked over Princess and then lay a towel out below where she was on the couch. She asked him to help her move down onto the floor and he nodded his head, glad to have something to do to help. Haven moved and put his arms to where he could easily help move Princess down, but before he could another contraction hit her and as she doubled over he tensed. The Aatte swallowed nervously, waiting for it to pass before moving her. When it was over though, he gently eased her to the floor and the knelt beside her, offering his hand for her to squeeze. Haven did his best to banish whatever anxiousness he had left from his features, giving Princess a smile. She needed him to be strong for her right now, and he would do it.
