[M] - Silence of a Soul

Lips curled upwards without humour as mocking words were spoken. Perhaps they were true, but why should he believe a stranger’s words? He believed in survival, and to doubt himself right now was of no use. Perhaps this state of mind made no difference, but he refused to stand idly by to watch his own soul detach from his physical form. The blade remained in front of his reeling form. Perhaps it could be possible to stab at the giant’s face once he was close enough. A large, muscular arm rose, and lavender watched the blade glint in the daylight. There were no images rushing through his head at this point, and all he could think was that he was disappointed.

No glinting metal lunged for him, but tense muscles found no rest yet. Sunset gaze watched the giant fall to the ground, and he wondered if it was his own mind adding a light tremor under his feet as the meaty form of the largest canine he had ever seen met the ground. Then, he saw the arrow standing out of the fallen warrior’s back. He turned his face somewhat away as the other canine approached to make certain the giant would never get up again. And still, the small blade remained before the autumn hued Dahlian, for one man still lived and all he knew was that the giant had called him a rapist and murderer. Not promising and he was well aware that he might be facing another horror in a smaller, though not less frightening canine.

Words seemed soft, though the obvious truth was voiced by an accent that was not from around here. What mattered was that he was still alive, and he refused to think about the different outcomes this scene could have offered. Instead of responding to words that seemed kind, he would address the threat straight away. ”Did he speak the truth?” the pack wolf asked, serious gaze scrutinizing above the dull blade. Had this all been a roaring mistake?
