It was the cold that woke her first - The omnipotent chill that clung to cool skin, sliding icy fingers beneath silver-dappled pelt as though they reached to grasp her very bones. Curled as she was against her sister, China roused slowly, savouring the last eddies of sleep that clung still to the unfurling bloom of her mind. But instantly, that mind was assailed by instinct that was livid in her royal blood; the instinct of generations of Lykoi souls, that which knew immediately of the presence of danger.

Her first reaction was to check Sage, but the girl slept peacefully, her beautiful form curved neatly to fit against China's own. During the night, China seemed to have shifted into her Lupus figure, perhaps so as to conserve warmth with less lengthy limbs. She rose quietly now, and left the small den in which she and her sister had temporarily been harbouring. It was a clever little place, perhaps a bit wet should rain have come, but its open mouth faced away from the crystalline onslaught of snow, and as such there was only a meager obtrusion that the Lykoi princess easily broke through and out into the bleary sunlight.

Satellite ears swivelled to catch the call, and before her brain was fully aware of the reason, the hippie child was running. Four legs were better than two when it came to speed, but her dainty form struggled against the deeper drifts of snow. The pristine surface of white was soon marred by struggled pawprints, and large mounds of upheaval from where her light body weight had been too much for the frosted surface, and the girl had temporarily floundered.

Regardless, it seemed little time at all before China reached her destination, that which she had already figured out to be Kaena's home. It had only been a little while ago that she had been here speaking with the greyed woman. Unexpected tongues of fear licked at her throat at the thought of running into her grandmother again - What if Kaena knew what she had done? What if, just by looking at her grandchild, Omi might simply be able to SEE the golden youth that she had so sinfully traipsed with?

There was a small gathering of figures, and these unreasonable fears were scattered by reality. Where the gaping entrance to Kaena's claustrophobic cave should be was instead a formidable wall of ice and snow. Cerulean eyes recognised two of the figures present - Gabriel, her uncle, and Sephira, the beautiful black jackal - But the other two, although smelling of the pack, were strangers. All four had busied themselves digging in various levels of concern against the snow. China looked to her own small paws, then back to the four, shifting her weight uneasily. She longed to see her grandmother's grizzled features, for similar as she was in appearance to the old woman, the girl felt that she shared a special link with the other. At the same time, she did not wish to stand in the way of the diggers, and unable to shift into her Secui form would probably not have been much help to them.

Settling with her strengths instead, the leggy coyote reclined to her haunches, blue eyes keenly observing the progress. The other four need not waste their voices in reassurance when their breath was required for digging - This, China could do. "Grandmother!" She called out in a surprisingly calm and firm voice, musical tone offering a soothing quality to the word. "There are many here to help, just outside your cave. They are gonna dig you out. Stand back from the snow, so it doesn't fall on you!" She rose to pace, back and forth behind the digging Inferni members, cornflower gaze darting here and there to see their progress. "You just stay calm, grandmother. It wont be long now!"
