Fancy meeting you here

Snow. He was so sick of snow that the idea of just leaving the Valley and going south for the winter had crossed his mind more then once. Relaxing on sun warmed beaches and traveling with soft grass under foot would be more then a welcome retreat from this frozen tundra he now called home. With the white powder wrapping itself around his legs like a cold blanket, every step was a chore. Even with the size and strength of his larger Secui form he still had some troubles navigating through the still somewhat unfamiliar forests and fields of the Valley. Despite the difficulty, he felt it was still necessary for someone to patrol the land, especially with so many of the pack injured.

As the black wolf made his way across a shallow stream his face contorted slightly as the icy cold sting of the moving water washed over his paws. He didn't mind the time alone to reflect on the past few days since the blizzard has swept across the land. Kami had been a solitary being for a long time before being forced into joining a new pack, and the feelings he was experiencing were almost foreign to him by now. The feeling of responsibility for more then himself, to put himself at risk to help someone else. Or, to a lesser degree just feeling concern for someone elses well being. He couldn't help but think perhaps he wasn't made of stone after all.

The wolfess was not difficult to spot as she sat in the center of the barren field. His golden eyes surveyed the meadow and judging by the way the snow had been disturbed it was hard to tell exactly what she had been doing all the way out here on her own. She could have been hunting perhaps, but the last time he had seen Jace she was injured herself. Obviously if she had been able to create all this disorder in the snow banks the injury could not have been very severe, but he had not stuck around long enough to find out. Though as he approached the female something didn't seem quite right. While he made no effort to conceal the sound of his paws sinking into the frozen ground, the loud crunching of which would have alerted her to his presence. She seemed distract and distant enough to not notice him right away at least. " Jace." he stated the name bluntly as he walked up beside her, his eyes roaming over her body searching for injury. " Something wrong?" he asked as he finally was able to see her face, the damp stain of tears not difficult to find on her cheeks. Kami recognized that there was something wrong, but the ebony wolf would have to wait and see.
