perfection!

Mati would succumb to the fatigue, but not yet. She found strength in the adrenaline that pushed her to make the journey home through the many feet of snow. They had needed to wait in the caves, sit there and watch the snow at it's opening grow taller and taller. Trapped by the element the female had had some time to think. Though she had been concerned for the younger pack members with her, the thoughts of her mate were never far from her mind. She had worried for her own safety, and those that were with her of course, but she had feared that the destruction of the storm had touched their haven here. All those fears had built inside her unmoving form, and when the chance to be free from the cave had come she had barreling out of it with a power that she hadn't known had lived inside her.

For the moment she held the other woman, knowing instinctively that the slighter fey would be unable to keep her self up. Mati felt all her weight and accepted it into her arms gladly. The moments passed, and the two lovers simply took the breaths that they had been holding for days and felt the relief that had been a million miles away. When her mate looked upwards, Mati had never seen her so worn and tattered. They had been though so much in the past, but nothing had compared to this and the Church woman could see the toll her disappearance had taken on her. To place such a burden on top of all the tragedy that had already struck the Marino family was something she had never wished to do. It was not the first time Mati had regretted ever leaving for a seemingly innocent hunt, but it was certainly the deepest sense of regret she had ever known.

She had felt it too, the rips and tares that had made her heart bleed sorrow. I know. Mati spoke, her arm tightening slightly. She paused at the other woman's last words and knew that it was not the answer for she would give anything to keep Cambria alive, even if it meant her own death. Don't say that, we're both safe. That's all that matters. She replied as she looked into those sea green eyes.
